Yi Han, infuriated by Lin Tiannuo's character, called Kan Di and declared his refusal to work on "The Rest of My Life" with Lin Tiannuo, stating he would join a new film set directly the next day. Youyou, witnessing Yi Han's anger, realized that Lin Tiannuo's scheme was unfolding as planned. Yi Han then confronted Youyou about Lin Tiannuo's presence at their home earlier.
Youyou clarified that Lin Tiannuo had invited himself, explaining that if she had initiated a meeting, she would have chosen an outdoor location. Yi Han found her reasoning sound, reinforcing his conviction about Lin Tiannuo's problematic nature. Shortly after, Kan Di called Lin Tiannuo, accusing him of breaking his promise not to interfere with Yi Han and Youyou's relationship. Lin Tiannuo denied any romantic interest in Youyou, claiming his visit was solely for work.
To appease Kan Di, he proposed that he would report all his future interactions with Youyou to her. Kan Di agreed, believing this would help manage the situation, unaware she was playing into Lin Tiannuo's hands to create more opportunities for him to contact her. Later, Youyou informed Yi Han that Lin Tiannuo was actually pursuing Kan Di.
Yi Han scoffed at the idea, declaring it impossible for Lin Tiannuo to succeed with someone he himself couldn't win over, even joking about his preference for "skinny ones." Youyou, however, listed Lin Tiannuo's many virtues, believing he had a strong chance. Still skeptical of Lin Tiannuo's integrity, Yi Han bet Youyou one thousand yuan that Kan Di would not end up with him.
Following this, Yi Han called Kan Di to retract his impulsive decision to quit the project, assuring her he would return to work on time. He subtly probed her feelings about Lin Tiannuo, to which Kan Di expressed a strong negative opinion, describing him as a "rascal" whose hidden intentions were unsettling. She also underscored the importance of the cooperation opportunity, urging Yi Han not to abandon it.
Lin Tiannuo then employed another tactic, calling Kan Di and using a fabricated dinner meeting with Youyou three days later as an excuse. Kan Di, worried about Lin Tiannuo potentially disrupting Yi Han and Youyou's relationship, offered to attend the dinner in Youyou's place and relay any work-related messages.
Lin Tiannuo, pleased his scheme was working, promptly informed Youyou that Kan Di had agreed to a "date" with him, leading Youyou to win the bet, and Yi Han begrudgingly transferred the one thousand yuan. Youyou's nail art design successfully passed the preliminary round of the International Nail Art Contest, and she began preparing for the semi-finals, receiving full support and encouragement from her salon manager and colleagues.
During this time, Youyou's colleague, Ye Zi, excitedly shared that she had a new boyfriend she met at a bar just the previous weekend. She invited Youyou to a dinner where her boyfriend wanted to meet her friends, asking Youyou to come along and help assess him. Youyou, though surprised by the rapid development of the relationship, happily agreed. Meanwhile, Yi Han was diligently practicing an important scene for an upcoming shoot, highlighting his commitment to his work.
Youyou found inspiration for her final nail art piece by asking Yi Han what was more brilliant than diamonds. When he replied, "Our love," a new design concept clicked for her. She showed Yi Han her completed sample nail, explaining how his words inspired her to use precious materials, grinding opal gemstones into powder and blending them with nail polish to create a "liquid gem" effect reminiscent of ancient Chinese paintings and the moving sea.
She also casually mentioned that the opal gemstones were a gift from a bracelet Lin Tiannuo had given her. Yi Han praised her work enthusiastically, jokingly claiming he should be a judge for the competition and asking for a reward for his inspiration. Youyou offered to treat him to takeout supper from his favorite place, Nio Western Restaurant.
Yi Han, however, dismissed Nio as unimpressive and too expensive, telling her he would be home after one more scene and to prepare a night snack for him. However, when Youyou later went to Nio to pick up his favored takeout, she unexpectedly spotted Yi Han and his assistant happily dining there. He had clearly lied about still being at work.
Unbeknownst to Youyou, Yi Han had resorted to these secret meals because, when Youyou previously treated him, he felt compelled to order only inexpensive, filling dishes to align with her thrifty habits, making him unable to truly enjoy his food. To maintain his image and satisfy his appetite, he had been secretly eating out with his assistant. After filming wrapped, Yi Han, still suspicious of Lin Tiannuo, prioritised following him after filming, even putting aside acting with colleagues.
He watched Lin Tiannuo get into Kan Di's assistant's car and was further intrigued when the assistant drove Lin Tiannuo to a restaurant. It turned out Kan Di had anticipated Lin Tiannuo's manipulative tactics and had sent her assistant to dine with him instead, while she herself avoided the meeting. Lin Tiannuo, realizing he had been tricked, grew angry and left the restaurant.
Yi Han, having witnessed the entire charade, had his assistant record the scene to prove to Youyou that Lin Tiannuo's "date" with Kan Di was a failure. Later, Kan Di arranged to meet Youyou, intending to relay any messages from Lin Tiannuo, as per her agreement. However, Lin Tiannuo called Kan Di, and Youyou, understanding his manipulative game, urged Kan Di to answer. Kan Di initially hesitated but, not wanting Youyou to answer for her, reluctantly picked up.
On the phone, Lin Tiannuo criticized Kan Di for not showing up for their meal, implying it was a breach of their "gentlemen's agreement" and threatened to renege on his previous promise not to interfere with Yi Han and Youyou. Pressured, Kan Di agreed to meet him. When they met, Lin Tiannuo surprised Kan Di by stating that he was pursuing her, not Youyou. Kan Di looked astonished, and Lin Tiannuo realized she had deleted his previous voice message.
He then replayed the message, clarifying his intentions and reassuring her that nothing had happened between them when they had previously shared drinks at her place, and she should not feel awkward. Meanwhile, Lu Ming's summer vacation was coming to an end, and Lin Tiannuo noticed his young friend's pensive mood. Understanding Lu Ming's reluctance to leave Zishu, Lin Tiannuo encouraged him to express his feelings boldly, emphasizing that grand gestures weren't necessary, only giving her what she hoped for.
Inspired, Lu Ming met Zishu and presented her with various marshmallow candies, feeding her some. After playfully teasing her with a cheese-flavored one, which Zishu disliked, he gently kissed her, signifying his affection. Upon Yi Han's return home, Youyou had prepared a table laden with supper, including wontons, glutinous rice balls, and steamed dumplings. Although she had initially intended to playfully confront him about his secret dinner, having seen him earlier, she unexpectedly broke down in tears.
Youyou explained that she was removing his daily spending limit, no longer wishing to restrict him, and expressed her hope that he would stop hiding things from her, even something as simple as going out to eat. Yi Han, troubled by her tears and unusual behavior, had a restless night. The next day, he asked his assistant why girls cry. His assistant, considering Youyou's recent actions, broadly speculated that she might be pregnant.
