Yun Shu explained that this was her home. Suddenly, something fell from the bookshelf, and Zhang Sinian shielded her from it, but the towel wrapped around him accidentally slipped off, making both of them extremely embarrassed and flustered. Yun Shu quickly found an excuse and fled. After calming down a bit outside, Yun Shu returned. Zhang Sinian showed her all his property purchase documents, and Yun Shu also showed him hers.

After understanding the situation, Zhang Sinian told Yun Shu that she might have been scammed. But Yun Shu didn’t believe it, insisting that her cousin would never deceive her. Zhang Sinian asked Yun Shu to delete the photos on her phone and explained that she had been able to open the door earlier because it was a construction key. He then told Yun Shu to go find her cousin, Lei Ting.

Yun Shu returned to the real estate office and discovered, just as Zhang Sinian had said, that she had been scammed by her own cousin. Overcome with grief, Yun Shu burst into tears. After learning what had happened, Gao Zhiyi and Lin Nuo comforted Yun Shu and suggested she report the case with Zhang Sinian. Without hesitation, Gao Zhiyi and Lin Nuo each transferred money to Yun Shu to help her with the emergency.

That day, Yun Shu went to find Zhang Sinian, but he flatly refused, saying he had absolutely no time today. Because of a call from the hospital, Zhang Sinian turned the class into a problem-solving session. Yun Shu waited beside his car, insisting he accompany her to the police station to file a report. Zhang Sinian didn’t want to argue with her and reluctantly agreed, but said he had to go to the hospital first.

At the hospital, the doctor explained the spread of lymphoma to Zhang Sinian. He looked dejectedly at the elderly man in the hospital bed. After finishing up, Zhang Sinian found that Yun Shu had used hospital tape to temporarily fix his car’s side mirror. Without saying anything, he drove Yun Shu to the police station. At the station, Yun Shu found out that fraud involving two million yuan could lead to at least ten years in prison.

She immediately decided not to report it. This allowed Zhang Sinian to see a different side of Yun Shu. He gave her a business card for a trustworthy law firm and added her on WeChat, intending to send her his testimony in case she changed her mind and came to bother him again. Zhang Sinian suddenly asked Yun Shu about lying. Yun Shu told him that as long as it’s a well-intentioned lie, it’s acceptable.

Occasionally lying wasn’t a big deal—it’s just that she hadn’t encountered a situation yet where she had to lie. Gao Zhiyi told Yun Shu that their undergraduate dorm was being renovated, so Yun Shu would have to squeeze into her bed for the time being. Yun Shu’s father had once given her a little rabbit to keep her company as she grew up.

Yun Shu named it “Five Thousand,” because when she was little, she hoped her father could earn five thousand yuan a month. When the dorm supervisor came by for inspection and discovered Yun Shu, she said that this was a graduate dorm, and graduates were not allowed to stay over. Gao Zhiyi tried to plead with the supervisor, but the supervisor was firm. Helpless, Yun Shu had no choice but to say she would move out immediately.

After packing her things, Gao Zhiyi took Yun Shu to find Lin Nuo. Lin Nuo planned to let Yun Shu temporarily stay in an empty bed at the hospital. Just then, Gao Zhiyi’s boyfriend called, and that’s how Yun Shu and Lin Nuo found out she was dating someone. Gao Zhiyi’s boyfriend was their senior, Qiqi. Lin Nuo, realizing that Gao Zhiyi had a new boyfriend again, couldn’t help but feel a little jealous.

Lin Nuo took Gao Zhiyi to the hospital, and while Yun Shu was wandering in the garden, she found an elderly man in a hospital gown collapsed on a bench. After helping him up, they chatted. The old man said his biggest worry was that his grandson hadn’t settled down yet and even joked about matchmaking Yun Shu with Zhang Sinian. Yun Shu blushed and said that relationships depend on fate.

Zhang Sinian visited his grandfather in the hospital room and discovered that he had been hiding cigarettes. Pretending to throw them away, Zhang Sinian was stopped by his grandfather, who promised he definitely wouldn’t smoke again—but asked Zhang Sinian to keep the cigarettes for him. Lin Nuo arranged for Yun Shu to stay in the hospital dorm.

The doctor discussed the treatment plan with Zhang Sinian again and advised him to quickly persuade his grandfather to sign the surgery consent form. Zhang Sinian talked to his grandfather about his condition, but his grandfather said he already had a sense of how serious it was. He refused surgery not out of fear, but because he had one unfulfilled wish—he hoped Zhang Sinian would find someone he loved and build a family together. That was his heart’s desire.

The grandfather signed the surgery consent form, and to cheer him up, Zhang Sinian told a white lie, saying he had a girlfriend and would bring her to visit on the day of the operation. The doctor told Zhang Sinian that his grandfather needed surgery as soon as possible, so if he had any wishes, they should be fulfilled first.

Zhang Sinian randomly approached a front-desk nurse, asking her to pretend to be his girlfriend and saying he would pay for her help. The nurse scolded him for being crazy. At that moment, Yun Shu came outside for some air because someone had come to the male dorm. Zhang Sinian saw her and called out, asking her to help him fulfill a well-intentioned lie and pretend to be his girlfriend. Without waiting for Yun Shu to agree, he grabbed her and rushed toward his grandfather’s hospital room.
