Qin Guan simply stated that living in the wild had tougher conditions, but Ning Meng explained this was her first time sharing a room with a male non-relative, apart from her brother.
Qin Guan reassured her he would sleep on the sofa and urged her to go to bed early. Meanwhile, Zhu Laoban, disguised as a meat supplier, successfully entered the hotel after a brief inspection of his goods by an armed police officer. He then received a report that Ozzie had moved into Room 2901, and the entire 29th floor was heavily guarded by armed police, making it impossible to get close.
Zhu Laoban instructed his team to find a hidden corner, destroy a camera, and then have his men, disguised as repairmen, plant bombs. The ensuing explosion would mobilize the guards on Ozzie's floor, allowing them to sneak into his room and kill him. He stressed that they had been preparing for this moment. The next morning, Tong Mengyao reported a camera malfunction at position 2 and was instructed to guide Jing Ke to investigate and notify the public security department.
Qin Guan also called the public security department. Jing Ke later confirmed with a police comrade that the cause of the camera's failure was unknown, and no other anomalies had been found yet. Around the same time, a hotel security guard was on the phone with a maintenance company about another camera, requesting repairs. Terrorists had already replaced the real repairmen's information with their own.
Wu Jie intercepted Chen Zhubian, an S Group operative, attempting to speak with her privately before her mission. He expressed his frustration that S Group was co-founded by him and his sister, Wu Mei, but she had given control to a "butcher." He tried to convince Chen Zhubian to listen to him, claiming that everything could be theirs.
However, he was quickly interrupted and violently beaten by Zhu Laoban's men, who reminded him that S Group only recognized one boss and threatened him with severe consequences if he didn't behave. The S Group members, including Chen Zhubian, disguised as repairmen, arrived at the hotel's underground garage for inspection. They carried a bomb inside a new camera, knowing it wouldn't be detected unless powered on.
After a brief conversation with a security guard about camera storage, they were allowed to proceed. Tong Mengyao later reported to Jing Ke that of the three repairmen who entered the garage, one disappeared from camera view after reaching the hotel elevator. When Jing Ke questioned the remaining two repairmen about their missing colleague, they claimed he had gone to repair a circuit in the basement. They finished their work and left.
The hidden terrorist successfully installed the bomb, confirming it would detonate in ten minutes. He then planned with an accomplice to wait on the 28th floor and use the chaos from the explosion to storm Room 2901 to kill Ozzie, using ceramic shards as a weapon. Despite the calm appearance of the hotel, Guo Xiaowei discovered the time bomb at the basement switchboard, reporting to Qin Guan that less than ten minutes remained until detonation.
Qin Guan immediately ordered Guo Xiaowei to disarm the bomb and informed Wang Yu to assist with explosive ordnance disposal. Qin Guan realized that a bomb of this power wouldn't kill Ozzie and was hidden in the building's switchboard to cause confusion by shutting down power and surveillance. He deduced that the terrorists intended to use this chaos to attack Ozzie and must be hiding in the surveillance blind spot closest to Ozzie's room.
He instructed Chen Haozhe to guard Ozzie's room with a team, while he and Ning Meng went to search for the terrorists. With only one minute left until the bomb exploded, Ning Meng and Qin Guan confronted a male and female terrorist in a stairwell near Ozzie's room. During the struggle, the male terrorist accidentally stabbed and killed his female accomplice. Qin Guan continued to fight the male terrorist, who died instantly after hitting his head on the stairs.
Simultaneously, Guo Xiaowei and Wang Yu successfully defused the bomb just in time. Following the incident, Qin Guan met with the police, learning that the two terrorists, a security guard named Sun Feihu and a waiter named Zheng Pingping, had infiltrated the hotel three months prior. This indicated careful preparation by S Group.
He was informed that Ozzie's itinerary for the next day, including an inspection of the Convention and Exhibition Center and a groundbreaking ceremony for a new energy research base, was critical. The police department would use multiple cars and disrupt the travel order to ensure Ozzie's safety. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Ozzie delivered a speech, acknowledging China's strength and stability and its leading role in new energy development. Blue Lightning members were subtly positioned around the event to provide security.
Tong Mengyao intercepted a phone call containing sensitive words like "gun" and "kill target," suspecting a sniper was targeting Ozzie. However, she couldn't pinpoint the location due to the short call duration. Qin Guan ordered her to deploy a drone to search for suspicious individuals.
The drone quickly located a small white plastic container on a forest edge, similar to nasal passages found in a previous sniper incident, leading Tong Mengyao to conclude that a female sniper was present and Ozzie was likely in danger. Qin Guan directed Ning Meng to take a team to the southwest to investigate, as two hills in that direction offered wide, unobstructed views and good hiding spots for a sniper.
Qin Guan tried to approach Ozzie to convey important information but was blocked by his bodyguards. He placed his hope in Yang Shu and Qu Bo, who were also in position to locate the sniper. Qu Bo soon spotted the sniper, but the sniper also noticed them, forcing them to change positions. After finding the sniper again, Yang Shu took the shot, successfully eliminating the target and avenging Lin Yi.
Qin Guan noted that while one terrorist had been eliminated, more might be hidden, urging continued vigilance. Later, Ozzie and his wife expressed a desire to explore Yen Province on their own. Qin Guan attempted to dissuade them, but Ozzie whispered something to Ning Meng, making a request. Ning Meng and Qin Guan then accompanied the Ozzie couple, experiencing the local culture and customs.
Ozzie commented on their apparent compatibility, playfully suggesting Qin Guan wasn't affectionate enough towards Ning Meng, and wished them "a baby soon and a harmonious union lasting a hundred years," causing both Qin Guan and Ning Meng some embarrassment amidst their teammates' teasing. Qin Guan tried to explain his conservative nature. The following day, Wu Mei arrived in Yen Province to personally oversee her plan.
She informed her subordinates that Ozzie's motorcade would soon pass a specific road, and she intended to use a rocket launcher to kill him, demanding accuracy. She also revealed a secondary plan: to not only kill Ozzie but also blow up the entire convention center to ensure S Group's monopoly on new energy technology. She stressed that this was the final step of their long-planned operation and warned against any mistakes.
As Ozzie prepared for the opening ceremony in a few hours, Qin Guan and Ning Meng continued their mission. Meanwhile, Wu Mei's guard reported that two armed police officers had arrived to secure the rooftop's commanding heights, acknowledging the police's astute defensive measures.
