Nan Qiao fretted over Shi Yue's lack of contact, unsure how to approach him. Witnessing her distress, Wen Di took her out to a gym, hoping to expose her to more men and stir her emotions. At the swimming pool, Wen Di explicitly asked Nan Qiao if seeing the muscular men made her heart race or blood pump. Nan Qiao, however, felt no such reaction, merely stating she felt a bit cold.
Wen Di exasperatedly declared that Nan Qiao was incapable of impulsive actions driven by hormones because her brain didn't allocate female visual hormones. She then opined that Zhou Ran was "ice" and Shi Yue was "fire," neither suitable for Nan Qiao. Instead, Wen Di suggested a gentle man like Chang Jianxiong would be ideal. Nan Qiao playfully accused Wen Di of accepting favors to speak so highly of Chang Jianxiong.
Earlier, Nan Qiao was caught waiting for Shi Yue to call, prompting Wen Di to note that Shi Yue's presence clearly increased Nan Qiao's hormone secretions, which she deemed dangerous. Later that night, a heavily intoxicated Shi Yue arrived at Nan Qiao's apartment door, but the changed password prevented his entry. As he turned to leave, Nan Qiao coincidentally returned. She confronted him about his unpredictable appearances and disappearances in her life.
Drunkenly, Shi Yue proclaimed, "I'm your man," asserting that his heart was "all Nan Qiao" and expressing his desire for her heart to be entirely his as well. Nan Qiao, flustered, urged him to leave due to his drunkenness. Shi Yue then unexpectedly kissed her and immediately began trying to remove his clothes. Nan Qiao cried out to stop him, only for Shi Yue to instantly pass out. She laboriously moved him to the sofa.
Watching him sleep, Nan Qiao reflected on their past, pondering what thoughts occupied his mind. The next morning, Shi Yue was abruptly awakened by Hao Jie's phone call. He confessed that his attempt to feign drunkenness and confess his feelings the previous night—a plan suggested by Hao Jie—had backfired; he had genuinely gotten drunk and passed out at Nan Qiao's. Nan Qiao prepared breakfast, and as they ate, she mentioned Wen Di's interest in having Shi Yue endorse a product.
Just then, Chang Jianxiong rang the doorbell. Seizing the opportunity, Shi Yue quickly disheveled himself to appear as if he had just woken up in Nan Qiao's bed. He provocatively opened the door, deliberately infuriating Chang Jianxiong, who immediately stormed inside. The two men childishly squabbled over who was the "host" and who was the "guest." Nan Qiao, annoyed by their antics, declared she was going to work.
Shi Yue and Chang Jianxiong then raced each other to escort her, ultimately descending the elevator together. At Future Up, Nan Qiao convened a meeting with her core staff, only for Shi Yue and Chang Jianxiong to attend uninvited. Nan Qiao, visibly angered, first reprimanded Shi Yue for his mysterious disappearances and reappearances. She then chastised Chang Jianxiong for appearing only when Shi Yue did, implying they were using Future Up as their personal battleground.
Wen Di, however, interjected, stating that Nan Qiao was merely using the opportunity to vent her frustration over Shi Yue's disappearance and that she took a personal interest in all things related to Shi Yue's night running. Nan Qiao redirected the conversation to the meeting's agenda: discussing color options for the VR eye mask. Employees were surprised by her sudden involvement in such a minor detail. Shi Yue swiftly came to Nan Qiao's defense, reiterating her commitment to the company.
He then proposed producing and selling all available colors. Chang Jianxiong, surprisingly, agreed with Shi Yue, citing increased profits and market share, and even the main control computer, Xiao Meng table, supported the idea. Only Nan Qiao, still upset with Shi Yue, voted against it, but her lone opposition was ultimately ineffective. Later, as Shi Yue drove Nan Qiao home, they awkwardly discussed the previous night.
Shi Yue offered to retract his drunken words, but Nan Qiao countered that doing so would mean he was merely babbling and not to be taken seriously. Unsure how to respond, Shi Yue decided to take Nan Qiao to the place where they first met, intending to allow her to "relearn who he, Shi Yue, is." Suddenly, a silver car surged from behind, colliding with and stopping Shi Yue's vehicle.
Shi Yue angrily exited the car to confront the driver, only to discover it was An Ning. Unaware of the complexities, Nan Qiao suggested calling the police. Shi Yue, however, insisted he would handle it, hailed a taxi for Nan Qiao, and then got into An Ning's car, resuming his role as her driver. As An Ning slept in the car, Shi Yue gazed at her in the rearview mirror, recalling a past event.
An Ning's husband, known as Big Brother, a figure connected to a drug trafficking group, had risked returning to the country. He tasked An Ning with delivering a "tea box" to Chairman Jin's wife. He explained his return was to "clear things up," as Chairman Jin was furious over undelivered goods. Additionally, Big Brother's daughter and brother were attempting to take over his company, which led him to transfer all his assets into An Ning's name.
An Ning suspected the tea box contained illicit goods, so she took the car keys from Shi Yue, intending to deliver it herself. Uneasy, Shi Yue secretly followed her and intercepted her midway. Upon learning An Ning had taken the delivery herself, Big Brother grew furious. A subordinate reminded him of the rule for such transactions: if something went wrong midway, both the car and person must be destroyed.
Big Brother initially raged against this, but eventually conceded to the suggestion. Shi Yue rushed into the car to inspect the tea box, where he discovered a timed bomb. He immediately pulled An Ning out, and they narrowly escaped before the car exploded. An Ning, injured in the blast, was hospitalized with police guarding her room.
Lying in her hospital bed, An Ning inwardly acknowledged she was no longer the naive woman Big Brother could manipulate, realizing Shi Yue had been right. Disguised, Big Brother managed to slip into the hospital, using his connections to dismiss the police from An Ning's room. He tearfully claimed he couldn't save her, but she could help him. However, An Ning understood she was merely a planned scapegoat for his escape.
Big Brother insisted it was better for one of them to live than both to die, proclaiming that with him alive, there was still hope. An Ning sighed, unwilling to hear his lies any longer. She stared coldly at him, demanding to know if he was responsible for tampering with the car and planting the bomb. Big Brother remained silent.
