Xue Jingkong created an illusion for Feng Ruche, conjuring a pair of wings for her so she could experience flying. Landing back on the ground, Feng Ruche expressed her gratitude to Xue Jingkong, acknowledging his efforts to make her happy, even though it was merely a dream. Xue Jingkong hoped she could consider her past as a dream, but Feng Ruche smiled, reminding him that her past contained not only nightmares but also sweet dreams.
Meanwhile, Xing Shangli was preparing to return to Stars Pavilion for the anniversary of his progenitor's death. He recalled his first encounter with Xue Jingkong, who was suffering from cryo sickness. Although he couldn't cure the illness, Xing Shangli offered to alleviate the pain, having foreseen that Xue Jingkong could save the Stars Pavilion.
They made an agreement: for each time Xing Shangli helped him, Xue Jingkong would give him one pearl, and once he collected one hundred pearls, Xue Jingkong would return to the Stars Pavilion with him. Given Xue Jingkong's recent frequent requests for help, Xing Shangli believed the time for him to return was drawing near.
He also advised Xue Jingkong that Sinan Ridge, located thirty miles outside the city and enveloped in miasma, might offer a temporary refuge from "the mute" but stressed the importance of reaching it before his cryo sickness attacked again. Yun Muyang escorted a blindfolded Du Xianyin to the Silver Wings Cavalry, adhering to the rule that their entrance must remain secret. Despite Lian Yi's objections, Zhenxian, the Silverwing King, warmly welcomed Du Xianyin, who publicly declared her willingness to stay anywhere as long as she was with Yun Muyang. Zhenxian then proclaimed Du Xianyin as the Golden Wings Queen, boosting the morale of the Silver Wings Cavalry.
However, Lian Yi remained deeply suspicious of Du Xianyin's identity and secretly ordered her subordinates to thoroughly investigate Du Xianyin's background, including her parents and how she came to be sold to Wuji Arena, all while ensuring Zhenxian and Yun Muyang remained unaware. Later, Du Xianyin developed a rash on her face. Her maid, Zi Juan, reported seeing Lian Yi leaving Du Xianyin's room and subsequently discovering "bamboo dust" on Du Xianyin's clothes.
Zhenxian, informed of the incident, ordered Lian Yi to be punished. Lian Yi admitted to entering Du Xianyin's room to investigate her and claimed to have witnessed Du Xianyin's skillful martial arts and golden wings, asserting it was all part of a larger scheme. Zhenxian, however, dismissed her claims as jealousy, accusing her of using dirty tricks.
When he ordered her punishment under military law, Yun Muyang intervened, pleading for Lian Yi's mercy and eventually offering to take the punishment himself. Moved by Yun Muyang's loyalty, Zhenxian relented. Afterward, Lian Yi expressed her deep hurt to Yun Muyang for his lack of trust in her. Disheartened, she revealed that she had requested to lead an expedition to attack Liang City, vowing not to return until it was conquered, disregarding Yun Muyang's attempts to dissuade her.
Back at the academy, Xue Jingkong's cryo sickness resurfaced, and he sensed "the mute" approaching. Determined to protect Feng Ruche, he abruptly announced his departure and canceled classes. Feng Ruche, initially attempting to humorously hint at their emotional connection by calling herself his 'Madam,' was taken aback by his coldness. She reminded him how deeply affected she was by the Linyuan Platform incident and how she had worked hard to find happiness, now considering the academy her home.
Xue Jingkong, hardened by his resolve, told her that her presence would only lead to "the mute's" pursuit, and then forcefully extracted the sacred staff from her body. As Feng Ruche, heartbroken, walked away, she decided to retrieve her lost bag of holding.
