Never Say Goodbye Episode 29 Recap
> Never Say Goodbye Recap
Mr. Ou stood before Mu Qing, gun pointed, determined to end his life. Li Ruosheng pleaded with Mr. Ou to show mercy. But Mr. Ou was incensed, accusing Mu Qing of being the mole who had always used Ou Kexin as a shield. Mu Qing vehemently denied being an undercover agent, clarifying that in his interactions with Ou Kexin, she was always the one taking the initiative, and he never intended to use her.
Li Ruosheng supported Mu Qing's claims, stating that it was indeed Ou Kexin who actively pursued Mu Qing, and nothing substantial happened between them. However, Mr. Ou was unwavering, convinced that all the group's troubles stemmed from Mu Qing's presence and would cease once he was eliminated. Before Mr. Ou could act, Ou Kexin called Rong Yao, informing him she was about to intervene and to prepare for a rescue if she couldn't manage the situation.
Rong Yao acknowledged her message, urging her to be careful. As Mr. Ou moved to execute Mu Qing, Ou Kexin burst in, holding a dagger to her own throat. She threatened to kill herself if Mr. Ou harmed Mu Qing, accusing her father of selfishness and a lack of consideration, having harmed her mother, then her, and now her beloved. She declared that anyone who dared to touch Mu Qing would face her wrath.
Unable to move against his daughter, Mr. Ou reluctantly allowed Ou Kexin to take Mu Qing away. Mr. Ou also instructed his subordinates to continue monitoring Mu Qing. Watching Mu Qing escape yet again, Yan Jing observed with a stern expression. Rong Yao, witnessing Ou Kexin's successful rescue, felt his tension ease and ordered his team to withdraw to avoid detection.
Later, a sleepless Mr. Ou pondered the identity of the mole, believing only Tieguanyin, currently in police custody, held the key. He instructed Yan Jing to find a way to get information from Tieguanyin, specifically mentioning Officer Zheng Ke. Yan Jing then placed a call to Zheng Ke, pressuring him to quickly uncover the mole's identity. Zheng Ke explained his difficulty, stating that the entire police station was monitoring Tieguanyin, making it impossible for him to approach her.
Yan Jing reiterated his high expectations for Zheng Ke, urging him to devise a solution and warning of severe disappointment if he failed. Zheng Ke proposed altering Tieguanyin's criminal evidence to undermine the police's case. Yan Jing, prioritizing results, gave him one day to deliver. Rong Yao reported this plan to Director Liu, acknowledging its inherent risks but expressing confidence in his team's ability. Director Liu approved the plan. During her interrogation, Tieguanyin remained defiant.
Zheng Ke, while pretending to adjust her handcuffs, subtly pressed a message written on his palm against her hand: "Glasses told me to save you." Upon seeing this, Tieguanyin immediately became cooperative. Ou Kexin and Mu Qing meticulously maintained their act for Mr. Ou's surveillance. After a shopping trip, they remained inside Ou Kexin's studio. Mu Qing cautioned Ou Kexin against future risky behaviors, emphasizing the importance of her own safety.
Ou Kexin happily ate the meal Mu Qing had prepared, her every movement stirring sweet memories of Rong Yu in Mu Qing's mind. Ou Kexin noticed his distraction and gently asked if she had reminded him of past memories or the person he mentioned previously. Mu Qing's expression grew serious, and Ou Kexin did not press further. She asked him to peel her shrimp, but he playfully told her to do it herself.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ou's monitoring team below ate their boxed lunches, one man complaining about insufficient food and taking another's leftovers. At the police station, following the leadership's approval, Zheng Ke proceeded to tamper with Tieguanyin's criminal record. Rong Yao then sought Linda's help to commit perjury, and she readily agreed. Rong Yao informed Tieguanyin that Linda had taken the blame for her, resulting in her imminent release. Tieguanyin, still wary, insisted on meeting Linda.
The police arranged a meeting in a restroom, with the women separated by a partition. Tieguanyin passed a note to Linda, asking whose idea this was and if she would keep her promise. Linda replied that she had voluntarily taken the blame and urged Tieguanyin to care for her family once she was free.
Linda then feigned tearing the note and discarded it, but later presented the exchanged note to the police, explaining that Tieguanyin's skepticism was merely a test and that she now believed the story. Rong Yao thanked Linda, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to atone for her past misdeeds. Upon her release, Tieguanyin immediately called Yan Jing, declaring she knew the mole's identity and demanding a meeting with Mr. Ou.
Yan Jing provided a rendezvous point, and Tieguanyin hailed a taxi. However, the driver was Zhao Ran in disguise. Zhao Ran, pulling out a gun, forced Tieguanyin to discard her phone before abducting her. Yan Jing's waiting men found no sign of her. Yan Jing brought Mu Qing to Mr. Ou's residence. En route, Mu Qing questioned Yan Jing about his earlier attempt to kill him despite Mr. Ou's orders, asking if he feared retaliation.
Yan Jing confidently dismissed the threat, stating, "There won't be 'later.' " At that moment, Yan Jing received a call, informing him that Tieguanyin had been kidnapped by a taxi driver. Mu Qing, realizing Rong Yao's plan was unfolding, subtly cast doubt on Tieguanyin's credibility, suggesting Mr. Ou might not trust a former detainee. Yan Jing was frustrated and dismissed Mu Qing's insinuation, prioritizing the search for Tieguanyin. Zheng Ke then called Yan Jing, admitting he had Tieguanyin.
He demanded an exchange: Zheng Yixiao for Tieguanyin, at the fishing port 20 kilometers south of the highway, within half an hour. Zheng Ke threatened to alert the police if his daughter wasn't brought, ensuring Yan Jing would never learn the mole's identity from Tieguanyin, a secret that could destroy Group K. Yan Jing reluctantly agreed.
He immediately called his subordinate, Shaonan, instructing him to take Zheng Yixiao to the fishing port and, upon spotting Zheng Ke, to eliminate both Zheng Ke and the girl. Mu Qing, silently observing from the car, listened intently.
