After Andrew threw An Fei into the sea, Ye Hai immediately jumped in after her. Duan Xiche and his team quickly arrived, working together to overpower and apprehend Andrew. Once rescued and examined by a doctor, An Fei was found to be mostly unharmed, just deeply shaken. Ming felt scared, shocked that Andrew, the man they encountered in Greece, was a pirate and connected to the accident that killed Ye Hai's parents.
She regretted not having kicked him more when they had the chance. Ye Hai, recovering from his own injuries, instructed Duan Xiche to thoroughly investigate Andrew's relationship with Jiang Zhi, confident that the full truth would soon come to light. He then went to An Fei's hospital room, where she happily leaned into his embrace, her face alight with affection. Ye Hai held her close, feeling a sense of peace now that she was safe.
Meanwhile, Duan Xiche, having heard Ming mention receiving flowers and food from others, grew jealous. He finally confessed his feelings to Ming, telling her he had always considered her his girlfriend. Ming, beaming, was overjoyed to hear those words. Jiang Zhi spoke with Liu Lan, acknowledging her concern for Mo Liang.
Liu Lan, looking dejected, revealed that Mo Liang's health was deteriorating, and she intended to withdraw from the experiment, believing the Poseidon lab would eventually fall into Jiang Zhi's hands anyway. However, Jiang Zhi threatened her with the failure of the Nales experiment from three years ago, coercing her to remain under his influence and continue working for him.
Ye Hai later informed An Fei that Mo Liang had been injured during his struggle with Andrew and was in poor health. An Fei grew very worried, fearing for Mo Liang's well-being. Liu Lan went to see Dong Zilong, where she picked up some documents from his desk. Dong Zilong roughly stopped her, clearly unwilling to engage with what he considered a hypocritical woman.
Liu Lan, with a slight smile, produced a USB drive containing the complete research diary of the Nales experiment. It included her voice recordings from when she modified the project's contingency plan, as well as her final experiment records made when the experiment failed. This evidence conclusively showed that her oversight of project information led to a small-scale leak during the hydraulic fracturing phase, ultimately causing the experiment's failure.
Dong Zilong, unsure of her motives, asked her what she was doing. Liu Lan explained that confessing everything was her only way to escape being perpetually controlled and gain freedom. Dong Zilong quickly surmised that Jiang Zhi was the one manipulating her. Liu Lan further revealed that Jiang Zhi was about to become the primary person in charge of the Poseidon lab, and she didn't want to see Mo Liang's hard work wasted.
At that moment, Ye Hai, who had been listening in secret, stepped out and proposed they join forces to bring down Jiang Zhi. Separately, Lin Huayin frantically met with Ye Tian, telling him she had discovered a major secret: her father and Jiang Zhi were hiding a Dr. C in their house. Dr. C had secretly informed her that Jiang Zhi and Andrew were actually working together. Lin Huayin regretted ever letting Jiang Zhi join the Poseidon experiment.
Ye Tian, disturbed by the news, firmly stated that if Jiang Zhi proved to be a villain, he would not let him go, as Ye Hai was his only remaining family. An Fei visited Mo Liang in his hospital room, finding him unconscious. Distraught, she tearfully called his name repeatedly, pleading for him to wake up.
After visiting her mother, An Fei finally understood her parents' divorce, realizing her mother's actions were out of a need to be with the person who needed her most. She apologized for misunderstanding and confided that she too had found the person she loved most. Believing that Mo Liang now needed Liu Lan the most, An Fei sought out Liu Lan at the lab, but she wasn't there.
An Fei eventually found Liu Lan at the hospital and urged her to stay by Mo Liang's side. Liu Lan then revealed many things, sharing countless details about how Mo Liang had sacrificed for An Fei, much to An Fei's astonishment. Liu Lan explained that Mo Liang had initially refused conservative treatment for his brain tumor, but later agreed to surgery after the experiment was complete, because of a girl.
He wished to win a future for himself, or if the surgery failed, to leave before it happened. Liu Lan made it clear that the person in Mo Liang's heart was no longer her, but An Fei. Ye Tian decided to permanently withdraw Han Hai Group from the Poseidon experiment. With Ye Tian's support, Lin Huayin called her father, Mu Sen, urging him to withdraw the Mu Sen Group's investment from the Poseidon experiment and exposing Jiang Zhi's schemes.
However, her father refused, stating his ambition to manage Mu Sen himself and his determination to support Jiang Zhi. News then broke that Han Hai Group had unilaterally announced their immediate withdrawal, citing an ineligible contingency plan for the lab. Jiang Zhi, upon learning of Han Hai's withdrawal, flew into a rage.
He quickly called Lin's father, who reassured him of Mu Sen's unwavering support and promised to prevent Han Hai personnel from accessing the Nan Hai base, encouraging Jiang Zhi to proceed with the exploitation. Reassured, Jiang Zhi calmed his team and ordered the experiment to continue as planned. Ye Hai then interrogated Andrew, who confessed to orchestrating the deaths of Ye Hai's parents and confirmed that Jiang Zhi was the mastermind behind him.
Hearing this devastating truth, Ye Tian was filled with remorse for ever supporting Jiang Zhi's experiment. He immediately returned to his company and tendered his resignation as general manager of Han Hai Group. Surrounded by reporters seeking an explanation, Ye Tian, visibly distressed, ignored them and left, later drinking heavily. Lin Huayin stayed by his side, understanding his despair. Despite the public outcry and Han Hai's withdrawal, Jiang Zhi remained resolute, announcing that the experiment would proceed as scheduled.
Ye Tian, in his distress, sought out Ye Hai. He spoke of his childhood, feeling overshadowed and less loved than his younger brother, which deeply moved Ye Hai. Ye Hai sincerely reassured his brother that their parents had loved them equally and were immensely proud of Ye Tian, believing he would make Han Hai thrive. He explained that parents simply express their love in different ways. The brothers shared a moment of understanding, their past emotional barriers finally gone.
Ye Tian expressed his desire to return to their childhood innocence, but Ye Hai gently urged him to manage Han Hai well. Ye Hai then revealed his urgent plan to stop the Nan Hai experiment, as with Mo Liang and Liu Lan gone, Jiang Zhi was manipulating everything and posed a threat. Ye Tian, now fully supportive, pledged to stand by Ye Hai no matter what.
