Ye Hai and An Fei were on the rooftop, where Ye Hai played the flute. An Fei asked if he had learned to play by himself, and he replied that his brother had taught him. She observed that he and his brother seemed less strained now, and playfully suggested he had moved there to hide from his brother.
An Fei then questioned Ye Hai about his relationship with Lin Huayin, asking if a song he played was for a performance with her. Ye Hai teased her for caring about him and Lin Huayin, then explained that Lin Huayin's performances were more about media attention. He recounted an incident from when he was 15 where a dancing group displayed a banner that read "Lin and Sea (Ye)," which he found nauseating.
An Fei commented on their similar styles, but Ye Hai retorted that he had never made banners or set candles for her, implying she always thought he was joking or playing. Ye Hai then showed An Fei a picture of a dolphin on his phone, comparing it to her. An Fei acknowledged that she had often been told she looked like a dolphin, to which Ye Hai added that when she gets angry, she looks like a pufferfish.
An Fei then asked Ye Hai if his actions were truly his own or influenced by Poseidon. She pressed him, asking if all his recent actions toward her were sincere or if he was being controlled. Ye Hai admitted he didn't know, and when An Fei asked if everything was done by him or Poseidon, he simply said he was going back inside.
After reflecting on her conversation with Ye Hai, An Fei fell asleep in her room, surrounded by her rock collection. The next morning, as An Fei came downstairs, she found Ye Hai still asleep and indulged in a fantasy of making him breakfast and being lovingly embraced by him. Her reverie was broken by an urgent knock at the door. It was Lin Huayin, who immediately confronted An Fei, asking if she and Ye Hai were living together.
An Fei clarified that they were merely "renting together," leading to a heated argument between the two women that woke Ye Hai. Lin Huayin, visibly upset, tried to assert her authority by reminding Ye Hai of their previous agreement not to bring strangers into the house and threatened to call Ye Tian.
She then presented an expensive Michelin breakfast she had ordered, but An Fei defiantly ate a few bites before declaring herself full and making a sarcastic remark about Lin Huayin's "thick skin" and needing to pack her leftovers to avoid pimples. The argument escalated with more childish jabs between An Fei and Lin Huayin. Lin Huayin then tried to engage Ye Hai in conversation about classical music, asking him to choose a song for her performance.
Ye Hai, however, openly disparaged her skills. An Fei interrupted their discussion, sarcastically suggesting Lin Huayin's music choices were mundane and that talking about classical music with her was like "casting pearls before swine." Lin Huayin, undeterred, urged Ye Hai to go into his room with her. At this moment, Poseidon took control of Ye Hai's body and sternly pulled Lin Huayin into the room. Moments later, Lin Huayin shrieked and fled, while Poseidon remained composed.
When Ye Hai regained consciousness, he was furious, demanding to know what Poseidon had done. Poseidon explained he had taken off all his clothes in front of Lin Huayin, believing it was the most effective way to "chase" her away, as humans feared showing their bodies. Ye Hai, outraged by this, vehemently refused Poseidon's subsequent demand to make An Fei fall in love with him, not wanting to hurt her for Poseidon's sake.
Ye Hai then directly asked Poseidon whether his recent actions towards An Fei were his own genuine feelings or Poseidon's influence. Poseidon evaded the question, calling Ye Hai "even more stupid" than he imagined, and reiterated that he had chased Lin Huayin away as Ye Hai had seemingly wanted. Ye Hai continued searching for Andrew, but there was no news of him.
He consulted Duan Xiche, expressing his confusion over whether his feelings for An Fei were genuinely his or Poseidon's. Duan Xiche pointed out that Ye Hai had done things for An Fei, like cooking steak, which he wouldn't normally do for others. Still, Ye Hai questioned if these actions were truly his, seeking to distinguish his own love from Poseidon's.
Duan Xiche advised him to recall more of their interactions to help him determine the truth, emphasizing that he could clarify everything else but not love. Meanwhile, An Fei reported to her new department, only to find her colleagues idly playing cards, lacking any work ethic. Despite their indifference, An Fei was determined to learn about the equipment.
Mo Liang, observing her dedication, encouraged her, telling her that she was his most suitable assistant and to prepare for a trip to the Nan Hai for a project and survey. Separately, Liu Lan, after receiving a gift from her teacher, spoke to him on the phone. She informed him of Mo Liang's upcoming trip to the Nan Hai and mentioned she planned to stay at the lab.
However, her teacher insisted she also go, urging her to seize the opportunity to control the experiment and to monitor Mo Liang. Liu Lan reluctantly agreed, deciding to bring Miao Miao with her to assist in monitoring Mo Liang and reporting everything back to her teacher. Lin Huayin continued to pursue Ye Hai, practicing music with him.
She subtly questioned if An Fei was important to him and stated her belief that Ye Hai didn't understand love, urging him to stop playing around and "come back." Meanwhile, the landlord asked Ye Hai to fix a hole in the house. Seeing An Fei nearby, Ye Hai jokingly suggested she fix it since she handled difficult experiments, trying to get her to stay.
An Fei, however, refused, announcing she would be leaving for a period, revealing her upcoming trip to the Nan Hai. As Ye Hai tried to stop her, Lin Huayin arrived. Ye Hai confronted Lin Huayin, questioning why an intern like An Fei would be sent on such an important survey. Lin Huayin denied responsibility and pulled Ye Hai away to a band practice, much to An Fei's annoyance.
As An Fei walked away, she sarcastically wished them a good time at their concert. An Fei later vented her frustrations to Ming, who observed An Fei's obvious anger about Ye Hai and Lin Huayin. An Fei also confronted Ming for arranging her living situation with Ye Hai, accusing her of betrayal.
Ming, while admitting fault for recommending the house, defended herself by recounting her encounter with Duan Xiche, whom she initially believed was a con artist due to his collection of diverse business cards. She was shocked to learn from An Fei that Duan Xiche was actually Ye Hai's assistant, causing her to reconsider her opinion of him. Just then, Ming, an entertainment reporter, received a video showing Ye Hai and Lin Huayin together, which further darkened An Fei's mood.
Separately, Liu Lan brought Miao Miao to Mo Liang, proposing that Miao Miao accompany him to the Nan Hai. Mo Liang, however, firmly reiterated that An Fei was his assistant and that her trip was already decided, much to Miao Miao's disappointment. Later, Ye Tian found Ye Hai at his practice location. After commenting on Ye Hai's flute playing, Ye Tian revealed his intention to have Ye Hai take over the company, surprising his brother.
Ye Hai expressed his preference for freedom, but Ye Tian insisted he would have to take over sooner or later. Ye Tian then asked to borrow Ye Hai's bottle ship necklace, explaining he had found a mention of it in their grandfather's old documentary notes but without any further details, sparking his curiosity.
