Despite Gu Li's words, Han Xue confessed that she had never been so scared, fearing the worst.
Gu Li hugged her, urging her to remain composed and assured her that he would handle everything in Haicheng while she accompanied Han Che. Meanwhile, Han Che and Nuannuan enjoyed a sweet date. When Nuannuan's shoelaces came undone, Han Che gently knelt to tie them for her. He also bought her a plush toy she liked, and they took photos together. Han Che then brought her to a dress shop, where Nuannuan excitedly commented on various formal dresses.
She noted a mermaid-style dress would suit Han Xue and admired a deep V-neck ball gown wedding dress. His colleagues dismissed his concerns, emphasizing that his health was paramount and that they would ensure the project's successful completion. On the set of their show's finale, Lin Jiayi symbolically placed a photo of her and Fang Hanchen into a box and released it into the water, signifying a farewell.
She explained to her manager, Liu, that maintaining her "national dream girl" image was crucial, and constant romance rumors were detrimental. Fang Hanchen also explained his actions to Nuannuan, reflecting on their past and stating that he refused to fake a relationship for hype. However, Nuannuan soon discovered a medical document recommending immediate major brain surgery with a recovery time of at least two months. During their wait, Han Che's attorney called Nuannuan to read a letter of intent: Han Che was bequeathing his old house, along with all his art and its copyrights, to establish a dream fund for her career. Overwhelmed, Nuannuan dropped her phone, crying out that she only wanted him to live. Finally, the doctor emerged, announcing that the surgery was a great success, bringing immense relief and tears of joy to both women.
In the days following the surgery, Nuannuan provided tireless post-operative care, constantly preparing nourishing soups for Han Che. Despite her devotion, a subtle tension remained, as she insisted to others she was merely his "landlord" repaying a debt. Later, as Han Che and Nuannuan sat together in the hospital corridor, a content creator approached them to record a short video.
