My Little Princess Episode 4 Recap
> My Little Princess Recap
Following his father's lecture, Zheng Chu Yao's frustration with Lin Xing Chen boiled over. He confronted her, attempting to force a kiss, only to be met with a swift slap to the face. From a distance, Jiang Nianyu observed the entire scene, a growing concern for Lin Xing Chen taking root. Distraught by the encounter, Lin Xing Chen wandered through the streets, lamenting Zheng Chu Yao's harsh words and his preference for Yu Yang Yang.
She wished for her "Bear Knight" to appear, unaware that Jiang Nianyu was following silently behind her. When a thief attempted to snatch her bag, Jiang Nianyu swiftly intervened, chasing the culprit away before Lin Xing Chen even noticed. He continued to watch her from afar as she, oblivious to his intervention, picked up a fallen flower from the ground, a quiet guardian in the background.
The school announced a celebration for the graduating seniors, which would include a dance where all students were required to participate. Zhou Wei called Lin Xing Chen, inviting her to be his dance partner. She, however, quickly informed him that her designated partner was Zheng Chu Yao, despite Zhou Wei's skepticism. In her luxurious private dressing room, Lin Xing Chen peered through a long-focus telescope towards the men's changing room.
She explained to Zhou Wei that she was trying to determine Zheng Chu Yao's outfit so she could coordinate hers, also hoping to spot other attractive "knights." However, she was spotted by Jiang Nianyu. Panicked, Lin Xing Chen retreated to her room and pretended to be changing. When Jiang Nianyu confronted her, she shrieked, "You pervert!" Startled, he echoed the accusation back at her.
During equestrian class, the students were surprised to learn that Jiang Nianyu, a former global equestrian champion, was the new assistant instructor. His presence caused a stir among the female students. Lin Xing Chen arrived late and tried to feign illness, but Jiang Nianyu sent her away to rest. He then cornered her, accusing her of peeking into the men's changing room, which she vehemently denied.
Jiang Nianyu further refused to let her ride, citing her strong perfume and jewelry as violations of the rules and attributing her defiance to "Princess Syndrome." After Zheng Chu Yao ignored her, Zhou Wei offered Lin Xing Chen his horse, Momo. However, as soon as she mounted, the horse became agitated, terrifying her. Jiang Nianyu approached, explaining that horses are very sensitive to strong scents and jewelry.
Seeing her distress, he took the horse's reins and slowly led her around the arena. Zheng Chu Yao watched this interaction, making a dismissive comment about Jiang Nianyu's "hero saving the beauty" act. Determined to secure Zheng Chu Yao as her dance partner, Lin Xing Chen stuffed a stack of letters into his locker. Zheng Chu Yao, however, merely opened the locker, saw the letters scatter to the floor, and walked away without a glance.
Frustrated, Lin Xing Chen consulted with her friends, who suggested a bold approach: "fox exploits tiger's might," implying she should leverage their families' connection. During a dinner between the Lin and Zheng families, Lin Xing Chen publicly invited Zheng Chu Yao to be her partner for the opening dance. He attempted to refuse by challenging her to dance "Por Una Cabeza," knowing her lack of experience. Confidently, she accepted.
Later, she learned from her friends that while Zheng Chu Yao was considered the best dancer on campus, Jiang Nianyu was the "other best dancer," a veritable "genius." Realizing she needed help, Lin Xing Chen decided to seek out "Ice Cube Face," Jiang Nianyu, for lessons. She followed him to the Star Boat Children's Hospital, where she watched him play guitar for a group of young patients.
While engrossed in the scene, a small boy bumped into her, causing her to fall. Annoyed when he then tugged at her skirt, she pushed him away, causing him to fall and scratch his arm. Jiang Nianyu attended to the boy with a look of exasperated helplessness towards Lin Xing Chen. However, when he returned, he found her charmingly reading "The Little Prince" to the children, having shed her usual "princess" demeanor. Jiang Nianyu observed her with a thoughtful expression.
After a half-day of volunteering, Lin Xing Chen gloated to Jiang Nianyu that the children preferred her over his "Ice Cube Face" persona. He then led her outside and onto a bus, ignoring her complaints about the sun and her high heels. They disembarked at the Four Leaf College campus, where Jiang Nianyu revealed he was going to teach her how to dance. In the school's dance studio, Jiang Nianyu patiently began to teach her the tango.
Lin Xing Chen struggled initially, but he encouraged her to trust her partner and not obsess over perfection. He explained that in tango, looking away signifies hate, while locking eyes means an inseparable connection, yet a yearning to be closer—this is "Por Una Cabeza." As they danced, Lin Xing Chen lost her balance, resulting in an accidental, awkward kiss. She became hysterical, lamenting that her long-awaited "first kiss" was "recklessly taken" in a "lousy classroom," without any romance. She demanded compensation, to which Jiang Nianyu calmly offered to "return it to you."
