As Lin Xing Chen clings to Jiang Nianyu, she is startled by the arrival of her mother, Chen Ming Li. Fearing her mother's manipulative tactics and wanting to protect Jiang Nianyu, Xing Chen abruptly shoves him away, loudly declaring that she is waiting for Zheng Chu Yao. Jiang Nianyu falls, injuring his arm against a cabinet, but his heart is more deeply wounded. He quietly apologizes before turning and leaving.
Understanding the true intention behind Xing Chen's harsh words, Chen Ming Li threatens her, warning that if she doesn't end the relationship, she will make Jiang Nianyu disappear forever. That night, Jiang Nianyu is at home, tormented by the memory of the event and unable to sleep. The next day at school, Xing Chen tries to explain herself, but Jiang Nianyu gives her the cold shoulder.
He then learns that he has received a study offer from the Vienna Music Conservatory, but he hesitates, feeling he needs time to decide between his dream and Xing Chen. Later, when Zheng Chu Yao asks Xing Chen to support his swimming competition, she accidentally sends an unfinished text message to Jiang Nianyu. Panicked, Xing Chen fakes a stomach ache and asks Jiang Nianyu to get her excused from class.
While the boys are away, she sneaks into their locker room, finds Jiang Nianyu's phone, and correctly guesses the password is his sister's birthday. Just after deleting the message, the boys return, and she hides in a shower stall, only to be discovered by Jiang Nianyu. Embarrassed, Xing Chen returns his phone and rushes out, but not before asking him to meet her at the bookstore after school. Unbeknownst to her, Zheng Chu Yao overhears the invitation.
Xing Chen arrives at the bookstore and orders two fried chicken meals, but before she can settle in, Chen Ming Li enters, orders the same thing, and sits at a nearby table. When Jiang Nianyu arrives, the three share a tense silence. Moments later, Zheng Chu Yao also enters, confidently puts his arm around Xing Chen, and tells Jiang Nianyu that he will protect her from now on.
Believing this confrontation was the reason for the invitation and seeing Xing Chen unable to explain, a crestfallen Jiang Nianyu leaves. Xing Chen thanks Zheng Chu Yao, but he clarifies that he wasn't just acting—he has genuinely fallen for her, leaving her stunned. Later, Zheng Chu Yao complains to his friends about Xing Chen's feelings for Jiang Nianyu. Inspired by his friend Liang Qi Fan, he decides to challenge Jiang Nianyu to a tennis match to showcase his "macho charm."
He brings Xing Chen to the court, but concerned for Jiang Nianyu's still-healing arm, she and Yu Yang Yang join in, turning the game into doubles. Xing Chen tries to protect Jiang Nianyu by intercepting serves but falls in the process. Realizing Zheng Chu Yao's intent, Jiang Nianyu forfeits the match, throws down his racket, and walks away.
Yu Yang Yang brings a bento for Jiang Nianyu but finds him eating a meal she recognizes as Lin Xing Chen's usual order. She asks for a chance with him, but he gently rejects her, leaving her heartbroken. Later, she discovers a mysterious document bag in her locker, and its contents leave her stunned. From a distance, Daniel watches with a satisfied smile, revealing he planted it.
Holding his Bear Knight uniform, Jiang Nianyu smiles as he fondly recalls his moments with Lin Xing Chen. After much thought, he makes his decision. He finds Teacher Chen and formally accepts the offer from the Vienna Music Conservatory, much to the teacher's delight. Jiang Nianyu then visits Xiao Xiao at the bookstore to say goodbye, initially asking her to safeguard his Bear Knight uniform and Xing Chen's manga books.
However, he changes his mind and decides to take the precious uniform with him. Meanwhile, Zheng Meng Xi flies to Bulgaria and returns with Xiao Xiao's favorite roses and a sentimental item she left behind a statue years ago. Moved by his sincerity, Xiao Xiao agrees to let him pursue her again. News of Jiang Nianyu's departure spreads, leaving Xing Chen unsettled. She returns to the bookstore, where Xiao Xiao gives her the manga books Jiang Nianyu left behind.
As Xing Chen looks through them, she smiles, remembering the warmth he brought into her life. As students gather to bid Jiang Nianyu farewell, Xing Chen tries to approach him. However, Yu Yang Yang intervenes, showing a photo of a woman named Zhu Li Ya and threatening to expose Xing Chen's parentage. Instead, Xing Chen snatches the photo, steps before the crowd, and bravely announces that she is not Chen Ming Li's biological daughter, but Zhu Li Ya's. As she turns to finally confess her feelings to Jiang Nianyu, Zheng Chu Yao pulls her into a passionate kiss, silencing her.
