Following the orchestra's successful performance and Sunny aka Wei Ze Kai's review, the members learned to understand and appreciate each other. Zheng Chu Yao realized that he actually likes Lin Xing Chen. Yu Yang Yang publicly confessed her feelings to Jiang Nianyu. Some students teased Zheng Chu Yao, declaring that he had been "dumped," while others celebrated the confession. Jiang Nianyu, when asked about his lack of response and ideal girl, called the student an "idiot" but didn't directly answer.
Chen Ming Li was in trouble because Ye Kai, in collaboration with Ding Shi Corporation and other companies, launched a competing product that impacted Dolly Corporation’s market share. Ye Kai visited Chen Ming Li, suggesting she declare bankruptcy to salvage some retirement money, claiming he enjoyed seeing her helpless.
Chen Ming Li tried to leverage her connections with the Zheng family, but Ye Kai dismissed her claims, expressing his belief that the Zheng family’s support for Dolly Corporation would soon wane. Chen Ming Li maintained confidence in her relationship with the Zheng family, while Ye Kai ended their meeting, stating they would wait and see. Lin Xing Chen and Zheng Chu Yao, upon returning from Taipei, were picked up by Uncle De under Chen Ming Li’s sudden instructions.
They were taken to a photoshoot location, where Chen Ming Li revealed her intention for them to model for Dolly Corporation's new "wedding series" line. Both Lin Xing Chen and Zheng Chu Yao initially refused, disliking the idea of taking wedding photos together. Chen Ming Li then subtly threatened them by mentioning Yu Yang Yang, implying she could cause trouble for her if they didn't comply. This coercion led them to reluctantly participate in the photoshoot.
After the shoot, Lin Xing Chen proposed to Zheng Chu Yao that they pretend to be a couple to deter Chen Ming Li's attempts to force their marriage. Though Zheng Chu Yao initially protested, claiming Lin Xing Chen still wanted him and that he had given up on her, he eventually agreed to the fake relationship to avoid a real engagement. The principal honored the Four Leaf College orchestra for their hard work and cooperation.
Following this, a new transfer student named Daniel, an artist from Italy who developed an interest in local culture, was introduced and welcomed. As the assembly concluded, Zheng Chu Yao halted the principal to unveil a surprise: a giant poster of the wedding photos he took with Lin Xing Chen, displayed on the Four Leaf College building.
Lin Xing Chen was mortified and urged him to take it down, but Zheng Chu Yao reminded her that their plan to fake a romance required public displays of affection. Students immediately began to gossip, speculating about Lin Xing Chen and Zheng Chu Yao getting back together and about Yu Yang Yang being humiliated.
Jiang Nianyu dismissed the photos as mere advertisements, but Zheng Chu Yao approached him, asking for photography advice on his photos with Lin Xing Chen, clearly trying to provoke him. Jiang Nianyu simply stated the photos were "really good" and offered congratulations. Lin Xing Chen, fed up with Zheng Chu Yao's grandstanding, angrily left, indicating she had her own business, while Zheng Chu Yao worried she might go looking for Jiang Nianyu, potentially exposing their fake relationship.
Lin Xing Chen went to the Three Bear Book Store, hoping to find Jiang Nianyu, but was informed by the clerk that he was off. While browsing comic books, she encountered the new transfer student, Daniel, who accidentally dropped a BL manga. Recognizing the genre, Lin Xing Chen initially feigned disinterest.
However, when Daniel revealed his own love for it and asked her to keep his secret, Lin Xing Chen reciprocated, expressing her enthusiasm for the book and agreeing to be friends. They bonded over their shared interest and promised to keep each other’s secret. Unbeknownst to Lin Xing Chen, Daniel was working for Ye Kai, reporting that he had successfully approached her.
Zheng Chu Yao arranged to meet Lin Xing Chen at a cafe, explaining that Chen Ming Li had sent someone to monitor them. He instructed Lin Xing Chen to act intimately with him to maintain their facade as a couple, even taking "couple selfies." Unbeknownst to them, Jiang Nianyu also arrived at the cafe to speak with Yu Yang Yang. Jiang Nianyu directly rejected Yu Yang Yang’s feelings, saying he would not accept them.
Heartbroken, Yu Yang Yang asked him to leave, not wanting him to see her cry. Jiang Nianyu apologized and departed. Lin Xing Chen, feeling sympathetic towards Yu Yang Yang, urged Zheng Chu Yao to comfort her, pushing him towards the crying girl before discreetly slipping away to follow Jiang Nianyu. Zheng Chu Yao, left with no choice, sat by Yu Yang Yang, who then tearfully leaned into his embrace.
This entire interaction was discreetly captured by someone sent by Chen Ming Li to monitor Lin Xing Chen and Zheng Chu Yao. Lin Xing Chen pursued Jiang Nianyu and caught up to him, getting on the back of his bicycle. She questioned why he rejected Yu Yang Yang and what he had intended to say to her the night of the performance. Jiang Nianyu claimed he had forgotten, dismissing it as unimportant since he couldn't recall.
Frustrated and hurt, Lin Xing Chen angrily told him to stop the bike, got off, and walked away, calling him an "Ice Cube Face." Yu Yang Yang returned home to find her family's small restaurant completely vandalized. Her mother explained that a group of men had wrecked the place and warned Yu Yang Yang to stay away from Zheng Chu Yao, threatening worse consequences if she didn't. Distraught, Yu Yang Yang sought out Jiang Nianyu, tearfully recounting the incident.
She falsely claimed that bodyguards from Lin Xing Chen's family were responsible for the damage and threats, implying Lin Xing Chen was consumed by jealousy. She asked Jiang Nianyu to convey to Lin Xing Chen that she had no relationship with Zheng Chu Yao and to "have mercy" on her, pleading that if Lin Xing Chen was unhappy, she should target her directly instead of her family's livelihood.
Jiang Nianyu expressed doubt, stating that Lin Xing Chen was not that type of person. The next day, rumors spread throughout the school, implicating Lin Xing Chen in the vandalism of Yu Yang Yang's restaurant. However, Zheng Chu Yao immediately suspected Chen Ming Li. When Lin Xing Chen returned home, she confronted Chen Ming Li, accusing her of the despicable act.
Chen Ming Li openly admitted to sending people, claiming she was "helping" Lin Xing Chen prevent Zheng Chu Yao from being "stolen" by a "shop girl." Lin Xing Chen, enraged by the methods and her mother's implication about her inability to hold onto a man, retorted that Chen Ming Li was acting for Dolly Group's business interests, not for her.
Despite her anger, Lin Xing Chen promised to get engaged to Zheng Chu Yao if Chen Ming Li ceased harassing Yu Yang Yang, threatening to sabotage the engagement herself if the behavior continued. In response, Chen Ming Li confined Lin Xing Chen to her room, asserting her right as a mother and reminding Lin Xing Chen that she would still be a "wild girl" without her.
Lin Xing Chen defiantly declared her independence as Dolly Group's heir and vowed not to give in, which only further angered Chen Ming Li. Trapped, Lin Xing Chen despairingly recalled similar instances from her childhood when she was locked up and forced to endure difficult lessons, and how Chen Ming Li had manipulated her after her father's passing. During orchestra practice, Jiang Nianyu noticed Lin Xing Chen's absence and learned from Yu Yang Yang that she was on medical leave.
Concerned, he went to the Lin family home, where he overheard a heated exchange between Chen Ming Li and a woman named Julia. Julia was pleading with Chen Ming Li to see Lin Xing Chen, revealing that Chen Ming Li had locked her up. Julia tearfully accused Chen Ming Li of torturing Lin Xing Chen because she hated Julia for "stealing Xing Chen's father away," explicitly stating that Lin Xing Chen was not Chen Ming Li's "real daughter."
Chen Ming Li threatened Julia, telling her to leave. Upon hearing this shocking revelation, Jiang Nianyu approached Julia directly to confirm if she was Lin Xing Chen's biological mother, promising to protect Lin Xing Chen. Julia, however, denied knowing him or what he was talking about, seemingly intimidated by Chen Ming Li's presence. Determined to rescue Lin Xing Chen, Jiang Nianyu scaled the wall into the Lin family estate.
Inside, he encountered Uncle De, who, sympathetic to Lin Xing Chen's plight and aware of Jiang Nianyu's intentions, deliberately "misplaced" the key to Lin Xing Chen's room, allowing Jiang Nianyu to find it. Jiang Nianyu unlocked the door and entered the room, finding Lin Xing Chen huddled on the floor. He gently picked her up.
Seeing him, Lin Xing Chen, overwhelmed and disbelieving, initially thought she was hallucinating her "Bear Knight," questioning if he was truly there or merely a figment of her imagination, believing she was unimportant to him. Jiang Nianyu reassured her, stating that he was there to protect her.
