The Ferris wheel suddenly came to a halt, leaving Ding Xiaorou in a state of panic. Chi Xin quickly reassured her, helping her regain her composure. She expressed her gratitude to Chi Xin for arranging Zheng Ze as an excellent male guest for the show and for the romantic date the program team orchestrated, stating she would have no regrets even if the confession ultimately failed.
Ding Xiaorou confessed her lifelong fear of Ferris wheels, seeing them as a memorable experience reserved for couples. However, being in the stalled cabin now, she found the unexpected stop quite thrilling. Meanwhile, Zhen Zheng and Zheng Ze, along with other crew members, noticed the stopped Ferris wheel and immediately contacted the amusement park staff. The staff quickly arrived, identifying a power failure in the entire park's electrical system, which they estimated would take about an hour to restart.
Inside the stalled cabin, Ding Xiaorou found herself in a confined space with Chi Xin. She suddenly remembered impulsively kissing him last night and awkwardly apologized. Before Chi Xin could fully respond, the Ferris wheel jolted back into motion, causing Ding Xiaorou to fall asleep instantly, a symptom of her narcolepsy. Chi Xin gently caught her, put an earbud from his phone into her ear, playing music to try and rouse her from her slumber.
Once the Ferris wheel slowly descended, Chi Xin carried the still-sleeping Ding Xiaorou down. Zheng Ze rushed over, taking her into his arms and carrying her to the infirmary. Chi Xin soon followed, and finding Ding Xiaorou awake, he discussed the upcoming confession process with her. He presented two plans: a fireworks display or a firefly show.
Ding Xiaorou, feeling it was cruel to capture fireflies for human romance, chose the fireworks option and requested that any collected fireflies be released, a request Chi Xin honored. As the crew prepared, many secretly placed bets on Ding Xiaorou's confession failing, with most, including Zhen Zheng, predicting another failure, while only Chi Xin believed in her success.
He reminded Ding Xiaorou to relax during her confession, imagining the cameras and crew as fireflies, and to speak boldly from her heart. That evening, Ding Xiaorou and Zheng Ze ascended to a rooftop adorned with flowers for the confession. Ding Xiaorou conveyed her joy at meeting him and spending "the most romantic, most unique day" of her life with him.
Zheng Ze, introducing himself as her "Mr. Rainbow," encouraged her to cast aside past curses and bravely pursue her happiness. He thanked the "pirates without vision" who had previously rejected her and apologized for his own absence during her first twenty-five years and seventy-eight days. To compensate for his past absence, he presented her with a special gift. With a gentle wave, artificial snow began to fall, an unexpected change to the script that surprised the production crew.
Ding Xiaorou, who had never experienced snow as she was born in the South, was moved to tears by the magical scene. Zheng Ze then asked if she was ready to touch love, having now experienced snow. Overwhelmed, Ding Xiaorou's heart raced, and she fell asleep once again due to her narcolepsy. Nan Sa Sa and He Mingzhu congratulated Ding Xiaorou on her successful confession, believing the long-standing curse was finally broken.
Ding Xiaorou, however, felt her success was largely due to Chi Xin, who had convinced her to join the show to break the curse. He Mingzhu expressed skepticism, suggesting that the confession might merely be a "program effect" as reality shows often give different scripts to guests to create realistic, dramatic outcomes. Ding Xiaorou admitted that her script actually had her confessing to Zheng Ze, not the other way around.
Nan Sa Sa then pointed out that Zheng Ze hadn't contacted Ding Xiaorou since the show ended, which He Mingzhu deemed "abnormal" for a man in the initial stages of love. Feeling disheartened, Ding Xiaorou wondered if Zheng Ze's confession was simply out of pity and if her curse was truly unbroken, leading them to decide they would directly ask Zheng Ze for the truth.
Meanwhile, Zheng Ze arrived late at work at noon, but his colleague, Zhen Jie, covered for him, telling Lucy that she had seen him earlier. Lucy then assigned Zheng Ze the task of designing a window display for the ZV brand and asked for a list of suitable designers. Zheng Ze immediately suggested Ding Xiaorou, highlighting ZV's "gorgeous and romantic" aesthetic as a perfect fit for her style.
However, Lucy firmly rejected Ding Xiaorou's involvement, stating that she had reviewed her work and found it unsuitable, insisting that Zheng Ze complete the project independently. Chi Xin and his team were reviewing the footage, noting that Zheng Ze's unscheduled artificial snowfall during the confession was not only expensive but also revealed the stage equipment. They soon received news that a sponsor was dissatisfied and demanded a reshoot of the confession scene.
Chi Xin met with Mr. Mao, the sponsor, attempting to persuade him with ten alternative post-production plans, arguing that love's eternal beauty could be conveyed through editing. However, Mr. Mao, a stubborn man, believed that the true essence of love lay in its "irrationality and uncontrollable power," requiring an "unexpected confession" to truly resonate, thus he insisted on a reshoot. Frustrated, Chi Xin returned to his team, reminding them to always have backup plans.
He then found Ding Xiaorou, who was still trying to compose a message to Zheng Ze, and informed her that a reshoot was scheduled for the next morning. Despite her initial reluctance due to work commitments, Chi Xin convinced her by mentioning that Zheng Ze would also be there. He also suggested she apply some makeup for the reshoot instead of appearing barefaced.
