My Girlfriend Episode 13 Recap
> My Girlfriend Recap
Chi Xin was harassed by a male guest, who declared he was looking for Chi Xin himself, not just another male guest for the show. Chi Xin fled in a panic, only to receive a call from a repairman. He rushed home, where the repairman informed him that his damaged floor could not be fixed that day and would require reinstallation, taking about a week before he could move back in.
With nowhere else to go, Chi Xin called Ding Xiaorou. He explained his floor damage and offered her three plans, implying she would be responsible for his alternative accommodation. Ding Xiaorou, however, proposed a "sharing economy" solution, suggesting he stay at her place since she owed him money and couldn't afford a five-star hotel. She insisted they were "good sisters," much to Chi Xin's bewilderment, who clarified they were "good neighbors."
Ding Xiaorou then laid out five rules for their "Housing Sharing" period, declaring herself "Party A" with priority use of all appliances, assigning him the sofa, floor, or even the bathroom to sleep in, prohibiting physical contact or touching her belongings, and demanding that he, as "Party B," provide breakfast and dinner. Chi Xin begrudgingly accepted, although he found her rules overbearing and like living in a hotel. That evening, with no other ingredients available, Chi Xin prepared instant noodles.
Ding Xiaorou was astonished by his meticulousness, watching him add plums to the noodles and calling him more attentive than "straight men." She declared that he had "successfully captured her" with the meal and from now on they were "good sisters," prompting Chi Xin to once again correct her, "Good neighbors."
Chi Xin remarked that the meal was a free lesson, but Ding Xiaorou countered, saying it was her treat on their first day of sharing, adding mysteriously, "You will know tomorrow." The next morning, Chi Xin awoke to find QR codes plastered everywhere in the house, even for disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste, which cost 10 yuan. He remembered Ding Xiaorou's comment about her "treat" and realized she intended to charge him for everything.
Ding Xiaorou then presented him with a breakfast of bread, coffee, a sandwich, and salad, charging him 25 yuan. She explained that she had an obligation to provide service but also a right to charge, justifying the price by including "time cost" and "labor cost." Chi Xin chastised her, saying if she put her cleverness to good use, she'd be debt-free.
Ding Xiaorou, however, insisted she was a "poor working person" saving money to pay him back, calling it a "win-win." She even charged him for a spoonful of jam. Later, Ding Xiaorou received exciting news: her window design had been shortlisted by the committee. She immediately called Zheng Ze, who congratulated her and agreed to accompany her to sign the contract, telling her to dress beautifully. Ding Xiaorou excitedly exclaimed, "I am the best!"
Meanwhile, Zhen Zheng assisted Chi Xin in interviewing female guests for a show. The candidates proved to be bizarre and self-serving, with one claiming a curse that caused her previous husbands to die, another boasting about her ability to eat vast amounts of food as a live streamer with many rich fans, and a third proudly asserting her beauty and disdain for past contestants. Chi Xin was clearly irritated, abruptly ending the interviews.
Tong Liang then approached Chi Xin, sarcastically questioning his anger and remarking on how much Chi Xin "takes care of Ding Xiaorou." He warned that Chi Xin's interviewing methods might harm the company's image, to which Chi Xin retorted, finding Tong Liang's concern for company image ironic. Back at home that evening, Ding Xiaorou had just returned after signing her contract and celebrating.
Chi Xin reminded her of their supplementary clause about giving an hour's notice for dinner, which she had failed to do. They argued over the TV, with Ding Xiaorou wanting to watch her movie on the big screen. Chi Xin ingeniously used an "optical element" to create a "self-made projection" on the wall, allowing her to watch her movie from her phone, which impressed her. As she watched, Chi Xin saw messages from Zheng Ze on her phone.
Zheng Ze had sent her photos from the signing, calling it "commemorative," and praised her outfit, referring to her as "the Fairy herself." Chi Xin, looking at her attire, scoffed that Zheng Ze's taste must have worsened from being with her. Later that night, as Ding Xiaorou slept on the sofa, she murmured that she was cold. Chi Xin, unable to sleep, walked downstairs and, seeing her without a blanket, covered her.
The next morning, Nan Sasha came to Ding Xiaorou's house. Ding Xiaorou quickly scrambled to hide blankets, while Chi Xin hid upstairs. Nan Sasha remarked on the messy house, asking if Ding Xiaorou couldn't take care of herself. Ding Xiaorou lied, claiming she had fallen asleep in the living room. Nan Sasha then noticed all the QR codes, questioning if Ding Xiaorou had opened a convenience store.
Ding Xiaorou, flustered, made excuses about saving money due to her debts, saying the codes were reminders. She then tried to distract Nan Sasha by saying she needed to change for a very important errand, insisting Nan Sasha turn around so she wouldn't "peep." Nan Sasha, growing impatient as she had a surgery to attend, eventually went with Ding Xiaorou to the bathroom, and Ding Xiaorou continued making up excuses to hide the fact that Chi Xin was upstairs.
As Ding Xiaorou rushed Nan Sasha out to buy "window materials," she loudly announced their departure, presumably for Chi Xin's benefit. After sending Nan Sasha off to the hospital for surgery, Ding Xiaorou returned home with her newly purchased window design tools. Alone in the house, Ding Xiaorou felt a sense of unease, as if she was being followed.
She watched a news report about a man who had stalked a woman on Kaixuan Road, and police found handcuffs and shackles in his car. The news warned women to be vigilant. Then, a second report detailed a sexual assault at "5th Floor, No. 200, Kaixuan Road" where a man gained entry by knocking on the door and then attacked the female resident, injuring her head with a brick. The suspect was linked to previous stalking cases.
Feeling increasingly terrified, Ding Xiaorou repeatedly scanned her surroundings, dismissing things she thought she saw as her eyes playing tricks. Just then, there was a loud, insistent knock on her door. Frightened, she instinctively grabbed a pot from the kitchen. When she opened the door, it was Chi Xin.
