My Girlfriend Episode 11 Recap
> My Girlfriend Recap
Chi Xin and Ding Xiaorou were leaving the hotel where they had successfully secured surveillance video evidence to refute the "Night gate" scandal. Ding Xiaorou, who had taken the initiative to find the crucial evidence, playfully remarked on the "double surprise": her innocence was now guaranteed, and she even managed to get a free ride back. Chi Xin, though initially peeved that she hadn't informed him of her presence, acknowledged her ingenuity. As they drove, the car's navigation system malfunctioned.
Ding Xiaorou confidently offered to guide Chi Xin, asserting her superior memory for roads, especially since mobile phone signals would be nonexistent on the mountain roads. Chi Xin, skeptical, nevertheless followed her directions. However, her guidance proved unreliable, and they soon found themselves lost in the mountains with no cell service and dwindling fuel. As night fell, Chi Xin decided it was safer to wait until dawn.
Looking up through the open sunroof at the sparkling stars, Ding Xiaorou began musing about window design, imagining the car as a beautiful display and the stars as fleeting passers-by. She then shared a poignant thought about mannequins in facing windows, loving each other but unable to move or speak, calling it the "saddest story in the world." She concluded that despite life's challenges, the act of pursuing one's true desires, regardless of the outcome, was inherently fulfilling.
Ding Xiaorou eventually drifted off to sleep, and Chi Xin thoughtfully draped his jacket over her. Later, she awoke to find him with a high fever, unconscious. Frantically, she tore strips from her skirt and used mineral water to try and cool him down, but his temperature remained dangerously high, leaving her in utter despair. Back in the city, the press conference to address the "Night gate" controversy was about to begin, but Chi Xin was nowhere to be found.
Zhen Zheng was deeply worried, as Chi Xin had only left a message about poor signal in the mountains. The team feared a public relations disaster without him or concrete evidence. After frantically trying to cool Chi Xin down with no success, Ding Xiaorou managed to run to the main road, flag down a car, and drive Chi Xin back to the city.
Tong Liang, gleefully watching the chaos, tried to stir up the media, urging them to leave due to the lack of an explanation. Just then, Zheng Ze arrived and boldly addressed the reporters, declaring that the "Night gate data" circulating online was "pure fabrication" after personally reviewing it. However, the journalists remained unconvinced, questioning his objectivity as a fellow show participant and demanding more substantial proof, suggesting his public affections for Ding Xiaorou might be scripted.
At this critical moment, Chi Xin burst in, having just arrived. He presented surveillance footage from the Japanese restaurant opposite the hotel, which clearly showed him leaving and re-entering the hotel lobby at 3:16 AM to get food, proving he was not in his room when Ding Xiaorou was there. Chi Xin then exposed the suspicious deletion of the original hotel surveillance as a malicious act by "people with ulterior motives" aiming to "smear opponents."
His compelling presentation swayed the media, who now understood the truth. Immediately after the press conference, Ding Xiaorou approached Chi Xin, insisting he go to the hospital. Zheng Ze also offered to take Ding Xiaorou home. She thanked Zheng Ze for his "righteous words" that cleared their names, but politely declined his offer, wishing to avoid any more gossip. Chi Xin, downplaying his fever, had Zhen Zheng take him home.
That night, while Ding Xiaorou struggled with her window design, repeatedly tearing up her drafts, Chi Xin pondered Ding Xiaorou's torn skirt, a testament to her efforts to help him, and considered visiting her to express his gratitude but ultimately hesitated at her door. The next morning, the Director summoned Chi Xin, acknowledging his successful handling of the crisis. However, he sternly reminded Chi Xin of the importance of avoiding negative publicity due to sponsor agreements.
The Director presented Chi Xin with an ultimatum: either the company would face a massive fine for negative marketing, or Ding Xiaorou and Zheng Ze would have to sign a "confidentiality agreement," referred to as the """Rou Ze couple""" agreement, ensuring no further negative news during the show. Chi Xin was given one day to make a decision.
Meanwhile, hearing of her difficulties, Zheng Ze took her to a mall late at night, using his connections to let them in so she could study the window displays. Their unexpected presence triggered a brief chase with a security guard before Zheng Ze explained the situation. Later that night, Ding Xiaorou brought fever medicine to Chi Xin's apartment, chiding him for neglecting his health.
She lamented her continued lack of design inspiration, while Chi Xin hinted at his own ongoing work. Chi Xin thanked her for the medicine and for helping "Turn the Tide" at the press conference. He then suggested she find inspiration in "last night's starry sky" for her window design. This sparked an idea for Ding Xiaorou, who worked tirelessly through the night and finally completed a design she was satisfied with.
The following morning, Chi Xin presented Ding Xiaorou with the "confidentiality agreement," explaining that signing it would mean sacrificing her right to "free love" for the six-month duration of the """Rou Ze couple""" contract.
