My Fated Boy Episode 24 Recap
> My Fated Boy Recap
Lin Yang's father once rewarded her with a bicycle after she scored over ninety-five, and young Lin Yang was overjoyed, anticipating riding it with her classmates to Dujuan Mountain. However, she didn't know how to ride. One day, as she was clumsily navigating the bike, she spotted young Lu Zhengan being bullied by another child. Lin Yang bravely intervened, then quickly pulled Lu Zhengan onto the bike and sped off, instinctively realizing she could ride.
Her joy was short-lived, though, as she, along with the bike, tumbled into a ditch. Years later, both families gathered in Lin Yang’s father's hospital room, sharing lighthearted stories. Lu Zhengan's father joked about Lin Yang's father's sudden illness, while Lu Zhengan's mother, Jing Wen, and Lu Zhengan's father discussed plans for a trip for just the four adults once Lin Yang’s father was discharged.
Jing Wen fondly recalled how Lin Yang used to dress Lu Zhengan as a little girl, complete with floral dresses and red hairpins, even showing photos that had once worried them. During this time, Lin Yang stepped out to make a phone call to Hua Zong. She intended to confess her situation, but Hua Zong, already aware, reassured her to focus on caring for her family.
He explained that he had already turned down Ms. Jia's project and that the company had enough work. He saw her falling in love as a good thing and reminded her that the company always supports its dedicated, older single female employees, citing Li Tian's previous situation as an example of the company's reciprocal support. He advised Lin Yang that collective power always triumphs over individual strength and told her not to worry.
Just as Lin Yang and Lu Zhengan were about to speak, Lu Zhengan's mother appeared, startling them. She then sent them off to buy Longjitian pastries, telling them to return later as the adults wanted to talk. Holding hands, Lin Yang and Lu Zhengan walked, agreeing to wholeheartedly fulfill their long-held dreams that day. Lin Yang, though excited, expressed concern about being recognized in their hometown.
Lu Zhengan dismissed her worries, playfully stating he had moved away when he was six and had grown so handsome that no one would recognize him. As they strolled, Lin Yang tried to get Lu Zhengan to call her "older sister," something he had never done, but he teasingly refused. They noticed the old house was gone, torn down and rebuilt, and many other childhood landmarks had disappeared. Yet, they found comfort in the unchanging presence of each other.
Meanwhile, Li Tian treated Xie Nanke to a meal, celebrating her first month's salary. She had clearly moved on from her past feelings, but Xie Nanke remained visibly heartbroken. Realizing Lin Yang was likely his first love, Li Tian offered two strategies for overcoming heartbreak: changing habits or desensitization therapy.
She explained how she herself used the latter by returning to Ruiye and constantly telling herself that Lin Yang and Lu Zhengan were deeply in love and would grow old together, a belief she now genuinely held. Li Tian revealed her plan to study abroad to completely put the past behind her, but before she could elaborate, a news notification popped up on her phone, detailing a scandalous rumor involving Lu Zhengan.
The news of Lu Zhengan's alleged relationship spread rapidly, stating he was cohabiting with a female staff member. While Lu Zhengan's name was exposed, Lin Yang's photo was blurred, and her name kept anonymous. Amidst the chaos, Lu Zhengan’s parents insisted that Lin Yang’s father stay at their home after his discharge, citing convenience.
Simultaneously, both Lu Zhengan and Lin Yang received urgent phone calls; Lu Zhengan from Cao Ling, who confirmed a competitor was behind the leak to target the brand, and Lin Yang from Ma Le. Ma Le urged Lin Yang to stay in Qiuyin Town with Lu Zhengan, advising them to reach a consensus and not to respond publicly. He assured her that he, Hua Zong, and Xie Nanke would handle everything.
Shortly after, Lu Zhengan's mother saw the online report and, in a fit of anger, fainted. Upon regaining consciousness, she confronted Lu Zhengan, demanding to know the woman's identity and if they were cohabiting. Lu Zhengan, glancing at Lin Yang, downplayed it, stating she was merely a female colleague he had occasionally driven home. Lin Yang corroborated his story, but his mother remained unconvinced.
Meanwhile, Hua Zong, Ma Le, and Xie Nanke convened a meeting with their client, where Hua Zong unequivocally informed them that Lin Yang was indeed the woman in the report and Lu Zhengan's girlfriend. Later, Lin Yang's mother directly asked her if the woman in the photos was her, recognizing a pair of high heels they had bought together. Lin Yang admitted it was her and that she and Lu Zhengan were a couple.
She explained she had delayed telling them due to her father’s hospitalization and fears of her aunt’s reaction. She confirmed the compensation claims were real but pleaded with her mother to trust her to handle the situation. Her mother then asked a pivotal question: "Are you sure it's love?" Lin Yang’s answer was resolute: "I am sure. I love him. Very much." After his mother had fallen asleep, Lu Zhengan sought out Lin Yang.
He revealed that he had already seen the photos, sent anonymously to Ma Le, and had decided to admit everything, regardless of the consequences. Lin Yang was upset that he hadn't consulted her. She stated that she didn't care about public opinion but cared deeply about their families. She argued that if he used his parents' money for compensation, it would strain the decades-long friendship between their families, making it impossible for them to remain together.
She reassured him that she would not give up on him and urged him to wait for a solution. After Lu Zhengan left, Lin Yang sent a message to Xie Nanke, instructing him to direct all public attention onto her by portraying her and Lu Zhengan as siblings and providing their childhood photos to minimize the impact on Lu Zhengan.
After their meeting with the client, Xie Nanke shared Lin Yang's message with Hua Zong and Ma Le, noting that Lu Zhengan was unaware of her plan. Elsewhere, Li Tian grew anxious, telling Li Miaomiao that even though she has moved on, she couldn't stand by and let someone bully Lu Zhengan, who should always remain bold and reckless in her memory. Later, Hua Zong, Ma Le, and Xie Nanke returned home drunk after celebrating with the client.
Hua Zong explained their strategy to a frustrated Li Tian: they would make no immediate public response, allowing the uproar to serve as a "warm-up." He elaborated that public opinion would dictate the outcome. If it was positive, all was well; if negative, they would have to either issue a clarification or replace Lu Zhengan, with their company bearing all financial losses as Party B. Li Tian questioned what there was to celebrate in such an uncertain situation. Xie Nanke then bluntly stated that Lu Zhengan would never issue a clarification, and the client, Party A, only cared about results, not about Lu Zhengan's personal life or affections.
