> My Fated Boy Recap

The profound connection between Lin Yang and Lu Zhengan was forged by their parents, who were close friends and neighbors. During a dinner gathering, Lin Yang's father proposed a pact: if their future children were of the same gender, they would become sworn siblings; if opposite, they would marry. Everyone enthusiastically agreed. Lu Zhengan's father even joked that Lin Yang's parents, who loved daughters, should have one first, while his family would have the son.

Years passed, and Lin Yang was born. Her parents celebrated her birthdays while continually urging their friends, Mr. Lu and Jie, to have their child. Finally, when Lin Yang was seven, Jie became pregnant. Lin Yang was overjoyed, eagerly anticipating a little sister she could teach and dote on. However, when Jie went into early labor, the baby was a boy.

A disappointed Lin Yang refused to even greet Lu Zhengan, her new baby brother, feeling that fate had played a trick on them. Years later, their paths cross again after Lin Yang has an accident. Picking up from their reunion at the hospital, Lu Zhengan holds an injured Lin Yang and calls her "Wifey," apologizing for being late. Lin Yang, whose back is in pain from a fall, pushes him away.

She claims she was crying only because of the pain and the cold hospital room. Lu Zhengan chides her for her clumsiness. Back at her apartment, Lin Yang questions Lu Zhengan’s sudden return from his music studies abroad, calling Qingning a "cultural desert." Suspecting he is in a relationship, she presses him for answers. He states he came back for her, his dream, and to be close to home.

When he stares at her intently, she accuses him of trying to use his "seductive look" to distract her. He then playfully pins her down, teasing that her face looks heavier. Infuriated by his persistent use of "Wifey," she kicks him and demands he stop, worried about how it would sound to others. Lu Zhengan dismisses her concerns, cheekily stating that he, the "tender grass," doesn't mind being eaten by an "old cow."

Later, when Xie Nanke calls, Lu Zhengan answers Lin Yang's phone, telling his cousin he won't be returning home that night. An indignant Lin Yang scolds him for answering her phone, but he uses the moment to lament how she ignores his messages, making him feel like he's talking to himself. She promises to reply in the future. Despite her protests, Lu Zhengan insists on staying to look after her until she recovers, claiming he has already showered.

Lin Yang reluctantly allows him to stay for one night. The next morning, Mr. Hua's sister-in-law, Li Tian, asks her sister about Lin Yang. Believing Lin Yang is having an affair with her husband, the sister reacts coldly. At the Ruiye Advertising Agency, Li Tian investigates Lin Yang’s relationship status. Colleagues gossip about Lin Yang's work ethic and her ambiguous but close relationship with Mr. Hua, who is unusually lenient with her.

While snooping at Lin Yang’s desk, Li Tian discovers a photo of Lin Yang's and Lu Zhengan's families together. Meanwhile, Lin Yang receives a call from Tongxin Hospital, informing her that her test results are ready. During an interview, Lu Zhengan receives a furious call from Lin Yang, who is upset that he has reorganized her messy apartment into a "model home." Though annoyed that she can't find anything, she concedes his cooking is excellent.

Later in the interview, Lu Zhengan explains he returned to Qingning "for someone." He describes this person as a beautiful, kind, and resilient "fighter who won't accept defeat," someone who inspires him and whom he feels compelled to protect. His manager, Ma Le, mistakenly assumes he is talking about his mother. Elsewhere, Li Tian, driving Mr. Hua's car, tells her sister on the phone that she will not let "that old woman Lin Yang" succeed.

At Tongxin Hospital, a doctor delivers Lin Yang's grim diagnosis: chronic gastritis, anemia, scoliosis, early-stage fatty liver disease, and hyperlipidemia. When she casually dismisses it, the doctor sternly rebukes her, revealing that his own daughter, a screenwriter her age, passed away the previous year from neglected health issues. Deeply affected, Lin Yang apologizes and sincerely promises to follow the doctor's orders, acknowledging that health is paramount.

Shortly after, Li Tian confronts Lin Yang, introducing herself as the new assistant to the chairman and Lu Zhengan's girlfriend. However, office gossip has already revealed that Li Tian was actually hired as Lin Yang’s assistant. Li Tian arrogantly warns Lin Yang to stay away from Lu Zhengan, boasting of her superior youth, beauty, and background.

She belittles Lin Yang, calling her an undeserving woman in her thirties with "nothing," while Lu Zhengan is a "shining star" with a brilliant future. Li Tian demands Lin Yang not return to Ruiye, claiming Mr. Hua no longer needs her. Barely controlling her anger, Lin Yang coolly points out that Li Tian is neither Lu Zhengan's girlfriend nor Mr. Hua's spokesperson.

She dismisses the insults, asserting that whether or not she, the "old cow," decides to "rob the cradle," an ill-mannered and brainless person like Li Tian would have "zero chance" with Lu Zhengan.
