As a child, Lin Yang enjoyed watching idol dramas. One day, Lu Zhengan, puzzled by a kissing scene, asked Lin Yang what the characters were doing. She explained they were "making up" and that touching mouths was more effective than saying sorry. Taking her words literally, Lu Zhengan then tried to "make up" with Lin Yang by touching her mouth, which resulted in him getting a beating from her.
Only years later did Lu Zhengan understand that the characters weren't just reconciling; they were in love. In the present, Lin Yang, Cao Ling, and Yao Dan found themselves in an unexpected encounter with Ma Le and Lu Zhengan. Yao Dan playfully pointed out Ma Le's continuous gaze at Cao Ling. Meanwhile, Lu Zhengan's own attention was equally fixed on Lin Yang.
Despite his earlier interactions with fans where he posed for photos, Lin Yang still felt a pang of jealousy. Lu Zhengan, noticing this, continued to playfully tease her. Late that night, Li Tian sat on the sofa, heartbroken after learning that Lu Zhengan and Lin Yang were together. The next morning, Lin Yang was shocked to discover that Cao Ling, Yao Dan, and even Lu Zhengan's mother had liked his social media post, realizing it wasn't private as she had initially thought. Because Lin Yang's public reply to his post was so telling, Lu Zhengan reluctantly deleted it at her insistence. As both Lu Zhengan's brother and Lin Yang's friend, Xie Nanke questioned what Lu Zhengan could truly offer her. He suggested that Lu Zhengan's persistent feelings were not love but rather a desire to win, stemming from Lin Yang being the first person he liked but couldn't have in his childhood, implying his affections were merely about fulfilling a childhood fantasy.
Lu Zhengan grew impatient, asserting that his ability to make Lin Yang happy was solely his concern and hers, not for outsiders to meddle with. Xie Nanke then raised the issue of their parents, revealing that on the day of the commercial shoot, Lu Zhengan's mother had called Lin Yang to ask her to introduce a girlfriend to Lu Zhengan, which directly led to Lin Yang's initial rejection of him.
Xie Nanke emphasized that while Lu Zhengan might be indifferent to parental expectations, Lin Yang could not afford to be. Later, Lin Yang received another call from Lu Zhengan's mother, who inquired about his social media post and Lin Yang's comment on it. Lin Yang, flustered, tried to explain it away as a game punishment, where the loser had to post specific content for twelve hours. Lu Zhengan's mother expressed disappointment, feeling she had been happy for nothing.
Lin Yang then cautiously probed Lu Zhengan's mother's attitude towards their potential relationship. It became immediately clear that if they were to get together, Lu Zhengan's mother would "have a heart attack and die right then and there," leading Lin Yang to quickly dismiss the idea.
