After Gao Zhan offered a chicken leg to Kang Jiawei as a "bribe" to ensure he treats Xu Jingjing well, Kang Jiawei clarified he wasn't petty and just wanted to remain friends with Gao Zhan, resolving their misunderstanding. Lu Xiaobai then excitedly told Kang Jiawei that Xu Jingjing had rejected Gao Zhan and would not attend university in Beijing.

Overjoyed, Kang Jiawei immediately asked Miss Chen to change his university application from Nashan back to Fuxing, which she confirmed was still possible. Elsewhere, students discussed a novel by Miss Chen being adapted into a drama, with Lu Xiaobai passionately insisting it must not ruin the original. At another home, the dancer Jingjing practiced her routines under immense pressure from her mother, leaving her father concerned as Jingjing often stayed up late, overwhelmed.

Miss Chen, while pleased by her students' interest in her novel, warned them not to let it distract from their studies, even threatening to withdraw the copyright if their academics suffered. She firmly declined the lucrative opportunity to be the screenwriter, stating her priority was to personally guide her students to university. Meanwhile, Kang Jiawei approached Xu Jingjing, informing her he had switched his application back to Fuxing and presenting her with meticulously organized study materials.

Xu Jingjing, however, accused him of being insincere and two-faced, questioning his sudden change of heart. Hurt, Kang Jiawei admitted his initial mistake in trying to make decisions for her but insisted his current intentions were genuine, lamenting that everything he did seemed wrong in her eyes.

He later shared a presentation with her, expressing his happiness when they are together, his regret for past childishness, and his pride in their shared achievements, framing Fuxing as another miracle they could achieve together. Separately, Jingjing's mother apologized to her for being overly emotional, acknowledging her daughter's desire to pursue hip-hop. She revealed she had already submitted Jingjing’s profile to three top management companies and suggested a balanced approach: continue preparing for the art college exam while awaiting responses.

As Xu Jingjing's anger subsided, she found it awkward to apologize to Kang Jiawei, who also avoided her, fearing another argument. Frustrated by the stalemate, Wang Jiayao confronted Xu Jingjing, revealing that Kang Jiawei was constantly pestering her and Lu Xiaobai for updates. Meanwhile, after hearing Miss Chen decline the screenwriter offer over the phone, Mr. Zhao encouraged her to pursue her dream, reminding her of her own advice to students about choosing their own paths.

The students then gathered on the sports field, affectionately urging Miss Chen to follow her dream, promising to study hard and calling her a role model. Mr. Zhang also offered his support, agreeing to take over her class and emphasizing that she would be setting a responsible example. He informed her that the principal had approved her for unpaid leave, with her position secure should she wish to return.

After Miss Chen's departure, the class morale soared, and the students became more diligent than ever. During a mock exam for art students, Xu Jingjing was extremely nervous, determined to earn a score worthy of Fuxing. After the exam, she learned that Gao Zhan had recently undergone eye surgery, paid for by his brother Ni Dapeng. While discussing the ongoing tension with Gao Zhan, Kang Jiawei expressed frustration that Xu Jingjing was avoiding him.

Gao Zhan remarked that he envied their dynamic, as Xu Jingjing would argue openly with Kang Jiawei but was always strictly polite with him. Later, both Kang Jiawei and Xu Jingjing considered texting each other well wishes for their upcoming exams but hesitated, too proud to make the first move. At home, Kang's dad announced a long business trip and expressed concern about his son's well-being during the exam period, but Kang Jiawei assured him he could manage.

Before leaving, his father gave him a heartfelt hug. The next day, while Kang Jiawei took his independent admission exam at Fuxing University, Xu Jingjing received her mock art exam results, which showed significant improvement. Wang Jiayao’s scores, affected by stress, were not as high but still good. Wang Jiayao then gave Xu Jingjing a deck of study cards from Kang Jiawei, explaining he had dropped them off late the previous night.

Xu Jingjing immediately rushed to the exam venue, finding Kang Jiawei as he was leaving. She sincerely apologized for being overly sensitive, explaining it stemmed from her intense desire to get into Fuxing. Kang Jiawei also apologized for not considering her feelings. Their apologies turned into a playful argument over who was more at fault, during which they crossed the street against a red light.

A traffic officer, who recognized Kang Jiawei from a previous incident, assigned them to direct traffic as a penalty. While working, Xu Jingjing recounted angrily beating a pillow on her 18th birthday, which he had missed. Their reconciliation was cemented with playful banter about gifts, with Kang Jiawei insisting she display his dog gift on her bag and demanding a return gift for his own coming-of-age ceremony.

Meanwhile, the dancer Jingjing resumed her ballet practice, but her mother’s comments about a past failure revealed the pressure she was under. Her true passion for hip-hop remained, as she eagerly asked if any management companies had responded about her application to be a trainee. At Kang Jiawei's home, his dad introduced Madam Gu, a nanny hired to cook for his son during his business trip. After a sentimental hug, his father departed.

However, Madam Gu’s first meal, a Mapo Tofu, was overwhelmingly spicy for Kang Jiawei. This led to a humorous misunderstanding, as Madam Gu, a native of the spicy-food capital Zigong, was perplexed by his request to cook without any chili at all.
