My Boss Episode 32 Recap
> My Boss Recap
Cheng Yao took the initiative to approach Wu Jun to apologize for the incident involving Ms. Wu and decided to resign. Wu Jun advised Cheng Yao to reconsider. This farce hadn't caused any damage to Junheng, and he had a way to achieve a win-win. First, he could approve paid leave for Cheng Yao, allowing her to return to work once things calmed down. If she wasn’t satisfied, they could also investigate thoroughly to give her an explanation.
Lastly, if she insisted on resigning, he would write her a recommendation letter. Cheng Yao sincerely thanked Wu Jun for his kindness. Her resignation wasn't entirely due to the incident with Ms. Wu. For a lawyer, constantly being labeled as Qian Heng’s girlfriend wasn't what she aspired to. Seeing that Cheng Yao had made up her mind, Wu Jun said no more.
The next day, Tan Ying was upset about Cheng Yao’s resignation and angrily slammed her own resignation letter onto Wu Jun’s desk. Wu Jun said respecting Cheng Yao’s decision was the best solution. Cheng Yao was about to leave the "Glory and Wealth" group chat, as company policy stated that departing employees couldn't remain in work-related groups. Tan Ying said they could create a new group for work, but the four members of "Glory and Wealth" would never disband.
Cheng Yao kept her resignation plans from Qian Heng. After Qian Heng, Bao Rui, and Yu Fei finished work, they waited for their flight. Yu Fei suggested buying lipstick for Tan Ying, and Bao Rui followed suit. Qian Heng calmly sat on the couch, thinking Cheng Yao wasn’t a materialistic woman, so there was no need to buy anything.
However, when Yu Fei and Bao Rui returned to their room with bags of purchases, Qian Heng couldn’t sit still any longer. He rushed to the shopping area and bought lipstick in every shade since he didn’t know which one Cheng Yao liked. Back at the office, Qian Heng noticed Cheng Yao’s empty desk and sensed something was off. Liang Yiran asked about the limited-edition lipstick she had asked him to buy, which he had completely forgotten.
He called Tan Ying into his office to inquire, but she avoided giving a direct answer and pretended to be on a client call, during which she revealed Cheng Yao had resigned. Cheng Yao, though reluctant to leave, finished writing her resume and was ready to look for a new job. Back at the apartment, Qian Heng had prepared dinner. Cheng Yao finally told him about her decision to resign.
She expressed confusion over the missing IOU, especially since all the other evidence was together. It made it sound like she was making excuses, which no one would believe. Qian Heng firmly said he absolutely believed her. That night, Qian Heng couldn’t sleep. He checked the company surveillance footage, determined to clear Cheng Yao’s name, and arranged to meet Wu Jun at the boxing gym. Seeing Qian Heng’s anger, Wu Jun quickly explained the incident.
Qian Heng still felt Wu Jun had handled the matter poorly and hadn't investigated thoroughly, insisting on a match with Wu Jun. The next day at work, Qian Heng stormed into Liang Yiran’s office, demanding she redo her onboarding process and recite the lawyer’s manual. Liang Yiran thought he was making a big deal out of nothing, saying they’d known each other for years and didn’t need to put on a show.
Qian Heng cut to the chase and directly asked whether she had stolen Cheng Yao’s evidence. Liang Yiran denied it and pretended to take the blame for Cheng Yao. When Qian Heng showed the surveillance footage, Liang Yiran had no choice but to admit it. Qian Heng demanded that Liang Yiran publicly apologize at the company meeting. She refused, saying that admitting fault would ruin her reputation. Qian Heng said he might report her to the police.
Enraged, Liang Yiran asked what she lacked compared to Cheng Yao. She said if he reported her, her career would be over. Wu Jun arrived just in time to mediate, and Qian Heng ultimately didn’t report her.
