Wu Jun arranged a welcome dinner for Liang Yiran and initially invited Qian Heng, who declined with an excuse. Liang Yiran dressed up carefully but was surprised to see only Wu Jun at the table. Wu Jun explained that although Qian Heng didn’t come, he had specifically asked him to express his good wishes. Liang Yiran was disappointed. Wu Jun, knowing her thoughts, advised her against going after someone like Qian Heng, saying it would only lead to heartbreak.

Liang Yiran replied that she understood the high standards expected of a partner at Junheng and would focus on improving her skills. On her way home alone, Liang Yiran muttered to herself, wondering how to get closer to Qian Heng. The next day at work, she discussed a case with Qian Heng, who nonchalantly said he trusted her judgment. Liang Yiran asked Cheng Yao to help print some documents but accidentally saw Cheng Yao’s WeChat messages.

In them, Bao Rui mentioned how Qian Heng always glanced at Cheng Yao lovingly when passing by their desks. Liang Yiran was visibly annoyed but didn’t say anything. Later, while browsing Qian Heng’s Moments, Liang Yiran discovered his secret relationship with Cheng Yao. She casually shared the information with a gossip-loving employee. Within a day, everyone at the firm knew, and rumors started spreading that Cheng Yao had advanced in her career due to her looks.

When Cheng Yao went to the pantry to get water, she overheard a heated discussion. Liang Yiran pretended to scold the gossipers and even extended an olive branch to Cheng Yao, inviting her to join her new team—conveniently also to avoid suspicion. Confused by how fast things had escalated, Cheng Yao vented to Cheng Xi. Cheng Xi shared her past experience of being labeled “the boss’s wife,” which seemed like a compliment but actually dismissed her own capabilities.

She urged Cheng Yao not to give up and to persevere. Despite her internal struggle, Cheng Yao decided to drop the trust case she had taken over. While Qian Heng and Bao Rui were on a business trip, Bao Rui heard the gossip from the "Ronghua Fugui" group chat. Worried that Cheng Yao might not be able to handle it, Qian Heng immediately booked a return flight and publicly confirmed their relationship at Junheng.

He stated that if anyone suspected he had given Cheng Yao special treatment, they were free to report him. Cheng Yao, now resolute, decided to join Liang Yiran’s team. Liang Yiran, who witnessed their public display of affection, angrily returned to her office. Tan Ying noticed her expression and warned Cheng Yao to stay alert. Liang Yiran introduced the other two team members to Cheng Yao but didn’t assign her any tasks.

When Cheng Yao asked for work, she was given errands like evidence collection, document retrieval, and coffee runs—none requiring any legal expertise. Though reluctant, Cheng Yao said nothing, having just joined the team. It had been 100 days since Cheng Yao and Qian Heng started dating. Cheng Yao wanted to buy him a necklace as a gift. Liang Yiran told her that Qian Heng only liked luxury goods and then assigned her an English contract to translate.

Cheng Yao spent the entire day researching and using translation tools, only to be told by Liang Yiran that a Chinese version existed but she had been too busy to mention it. Her entire day was wasted. That evening, Cheng Yao wanted to get off work early to celebrate. Unbeknownst to her, Qian Heng had booked a flight for that evening. When Liang Yiran saw his itinerary, she deliberately gave Cheng Yao extra work—organizing contracts and sourcing new clients. By the time she finished, it was already late at night.
