Feeling uneasy, Fu Shuangshuang confessed her true identity and purpose to Qin Hebo, revealing she was a commercial spy sent to steal Evergreen Hotel's May wedding list. To her surprise, Qin Hebo seemed intrigued by her honesty and reciprocated with his own "secret": he claimed to be a spy as well, aiming to acquire the entire Evergreen Hotel. Fu Shuangshuang, however, dismissed his statement as a joke. Meanwhile, Sheng Zhening had contracted a high fever from An An.
Xia Qian stayed by his bedside, diligently caring for him throughout the night. She even prepared a sugar-free mung bean soup, insisting it was the best remedy for fever, and fed it to him when he was too weak to eat on his own. She also applied cooling patches and performed physical cooling to help bring down his 39-degree fever.
Sheng Zhening was somewhat resistant to her care at times, even remarking on her "dirty hands" after she had just washed them. It wasn't until the next morning that Xia Qian returned to her room to rest.
Upon recovering, Sheng Zhening learned from An An that he hadn't yet conveyed his intention to gracefully decline Xia Qian's offer to work for him, and he instructed An An to keep silent about it for now, suggesting they discuss it once they were back in the city to avoid awkwardness. Xia Qian had initially tried various methods to crack Sheng Zhening's computer password for Ning Meng's wedding list but failed.

Ning Meng then disclosed that the password was the capitalized initials of "blue daze" followed by "0821," which was their mother's favorite flower and birthday, a detail Sheng Zhening used to commemorate their mother by tending to blue daze flowers in the hotel garden. As Xia Qian accessed Sheng Zhening's computer and opened the wedding list file, she noticed her handkerchief on his bed.
It was the same one she had given to the "gardener" earlier, now bearing a blue daze flower. A sudden realization dawned on her: the kind gardener she had met was none other than Sheng Zhening himself. After much thought, Xia Qian decided to drop Ning Meng's case because her interactions with Sheng Zhening had led her to believe he was a person of integrity.

Unable to tolerate his taunts, Xia Qian stormed out of the car into the pouring rain. Meanwhile, Fu Shuangshuang successfully obtained Evergreen Hotel's May wedding list through Qin Hebo and immediately called Xia Qian. Despite securing the wedding list, Xia Qian remained unhappy, often glancing at the cooling patch in her bag, which brought memories of Sheng Zhening.
