After both were dismissed from the resort, Song Chacha and Bai Yongze drank together. Song Chacha questioned why Bai Yongze left for her sake, to which he declared her his girlfriend and explained his life philosophy: as an orphan, he once falsely claimed he could swim to be adopted, then secretly trained relentlessly to achieve his goal. Understanding his fierce determination, Song Chacha no longer urged him to return.
They continued drinking in Bai Yongze's room, where he secretly kissed her, and she secretly smiled. The next morning, Lan Tian tried to convince Bai Yongze to stay, even challenging him to a true competition before the team test, but Bai Yongze remained firm. At the team swimming test, Bai Yongze participated, finishing first, then announced his departure and refusal to represent the team.
Except for Jiang Shi, who defended him, Coach Huang Donglei and the other teammates were angry, with Huang Donglei calling him "crazy." Bai Yongze apologized before resolutely leaving, citing his responsibility for the Valentine's Day event. His manager, complaining about the luggage, prepared for them to go home, but Bai Yongze decided to stay in a nearby hotel first.
Jiang Shi, however, blamed Huang Donglei, asserting that Huang Donglei was responsible for the Valentine's Day event that led to Bai Yongze's decision to leave. Huang Donglei then angrily confronted Lan Xin, who, as usual, misconstrued his frustration as an attempt to flirt, further vexing him. Later, Jiang Shi organized a farewell party, attended by Lan Tian, Zhao Yan, and Song Chacha. There, Bai Yongze publicly announced Song Chacha as his girlfriend.
Lan Tian was visibly upset, reluctantly joined the karaoke, and watched Song Chacha entranced by Bai Yongze's singing. Unable to bear it, he quietly left. After the party, Bai Yongze walked Song Chacha home. Noticing a broken street lamp and remembering Song Chacha's fear of the dark, he climbed the pole to fix it but was electrocuted and hospitalized. Everyone, including Coach Huang Donglei, visited him.
Jiang Shi and Zhao Yan, among others, mistakenly believed he had attempted suicide, a notion Bai Yongze repeatedly denied, despite the unusual nature of his accident. Coming out of Bai Yongze's hospital room, Song Chacha met the nurse who had cared for her during a previous hospitalization. The nurse revealed that Bai Yongze had been the one who tended to Song Chacha despite his own injuries that night, not Lan Tian.
Returning home and seeing the newly lit street lamp, Song Chacha fully understood, murmuring "Bai Yongze, you idiot" with tears in her eyes. Bai Yongze then received a call with a high sponsorship offer, signifying his imminent departure from Hainan. Unaware of her daughter's unemployment, Song Chacha's mother saw her happily leave after Bai Yongze called to invite her on a date.
Meanwhile, Jiang Shi informed Lan Tian that Bai Yongze planned to propose to Song Chacha before leaving the next day. Lan Tian's face darkened, imagining Song Chacha kissing Bai Yongze goodbye, and he became enraged, almost getting into a fight with a teammate. Bai Yongze and Song Chacha met, with Bai Yongze bringing a replacement ring after having lost his previous one. He feigned that Lan Tian might appear, prompting Song Chacha to stay close. Song Chacha chose economical yet delicious places to eat, and later, at a seafood hotpot restaurant, she personally prepared her "Song family soup base," proclaiming her talent for cooking.
