Fang Zhiyou approached a distraught Gu Bo, who had just submitted his resignation, for a talk. Gu Bo confessed his long-held dream of designing buildings that would bear his name, just like his idol Fang Zhiyou, but felt he had exhausted all efforts with no success. Fang Zhiyou acknowledged Gu Bo's intelligence and hard work but emphasized that attitude and responsibility were paramount in their industry, where a small error could have significant consequences.
He revealed he had rescinded Gu Bo's resignation out of respect for his father but sternly warned that this "outside help" was a one-time deal and future expectations would be stricter. Overjoyed to be reinstated, Gu Bo playfully asked if Fang Zhiyou had been kidnapped and enthusiastically promised to work towards becoming his successor. Later, Gu Bo excitedly shared the news with Xia Di, who had worriedly waited up for him all night, resulting in a stiff neck.
Xia Di remarked that Fang Zhiyou's encouragement seemed more effective than her days of persuasion, prompting Gu Bo to declare he would rely on both his idol and his "goddess." Xu Yiren began searching for an apartment for her relatives who were planning to visit. She found a surprisingly affordable unit that accepted monthly payments but grew suspicious when the real estate agent became evasive about contacting the landlord.
Realizing Li Zhe must be behind it, Xu Yiren confronted him, accusing him of deceiving her and using her only to provoke Fang Zhiyou. Expressing her disappointment, she asked him to stay away. Li Zhe admitted to the deception but later remarked to his subordinate that if being "used" meant someone cared for him, helped him, and found an apartment for his family, he would welcome it.
As Xu Yiren left the restaurant, Li Zhe instructed his subordinate to return her watch, which she had left behind. Xu Yiren woke in fright from a dream where Fang Zhiyou accused her of seeing Li Zhe and threatened to "punish" her. Later, He Yuwen suggested to Fang Zhiyou that Xu Yiren leverage her "close relationship" with Li Zhe to secure a partnership with his company, Dasheng, for the Moon Bay project.
Fang Zhiyou dismissed the idea, stating they were not close and Fangyuan would never collaborate with Dasheng. He Yuwen persisted, suggesting that if Xu Yiren and Li Zhe were indeed a couple, Fang Zhiyou should find a new assistant. When Li Zhe had the repaired watch delivered to Xu Yiren at the office, Fang Zhiyou saw it and, enraged that they had met again, retreated to his office.
Noticing his idol's foul mood, Gu Bo advised him that actions speak louder than words, even playfully suggesting a kiss. Later, Xu Yiren tried to explain to Fang Zhiyou that she only met Li Zhe to find an apartment. Misunderstanding, Fang Zhiyou questioned if she was anxious to move out and why she preferred Li Zhe's help. Frustrated, Xu Yiren confronted him, admitting his confusing behavior gave her the "illusion" he liked her and demanded he clarify his feelings.
In response, Fang Zhiyou pulled her into an embrace, stating that while he didn't know what to say, he knew what to do, and kissed her. Stunned, a shy Xu Yiren fled. Arriving at her apartment, Xu Yiren recounted the kiss to Xia Di and a terrified Gu Bo, who were watching a horror movie. Xia Di urged her to contact Fang Zhiyou, but Xu Yiren was bothered that he hadn't verbally confessed.
Meanwhile, Gu Bo secretly informed Fang Zhiyou of the situation, who bribed him with a red packet to eavesdrop. Gu Bo reported back that Xu Yiren was worried they were from "different worlds" and thus not a good match. That night, Fang Zhiyou's younger sister, Shiyu, overheard him and criticized him for kissing Xu Yiren without a proper confession, calling it disrespectful.
Meanwhile, Li Zhe's private detective confirmed that Xu Yiren was the long-lost little girl he had been searching for. Realizing the truth, Li Zhe rushed to Fangyuan, grabbed Xu Yiren’s arm, and urgently tried to speak with her. Fang Zhiyou intervened, took her other arm, and declared, "Because she’s my girlfriend." He challenged Li Zhe to ask his questions in front of him. Stunned, Li Zhe asked Xu Yiren if it was true. After she confirmed, a defeated Li Zhe lamented that it was his fault for not recognizing her sooner.
