Mo Yuanzhi's research achievements garnered significant recognition from Han Song and Tang Shaorong of Moma Group. During this period, though his experiments had reportedly caused several deaths that were suppressed due to lack of evidence, he publicly handled questions about his RAN technology. When asked about its safety, Mo Yuanzhi asserted that his team employed the most advanced technology and rigorous testing standards, with no safety issues reported.

As protesters against genetic hegemony demonstrated outside, Mo Yuanzhi convinced Han Song and Tang Shaorong to trust and support him. Previously, it was revealed that Jiang Yuwen's related data had been completely incinerated, a loss Tang Shaorong lamented. Through these events, Mo Yuanzhi strategically ascended to a core position within Moma Group.

Feng Qiming, tirelessly searching for his sister Feng Wanqing for years, received a phone call from Mo Yuanzhi, who confirmed he had seen Wanqing and knew she was ill, and arranged a meeting. In his secret lab, Mo Yuanzhi spun a tale for Feng Qiming, claiming his experiments were failing because Jiang Yuwen had stolen RAN data and sought to destroy him, thus jeopardizing their only chance to save Wanqing.

Mo Yuanzhi claimed he was risking his life by continuously experimenting on himself with drugs. Moved by this fabrication, Feng Qiming vowed to help. Mo Yuanzhi then provided precise times and locations for the assassinations of Han Song and Tang Shaorong, instructing Feng Qiming to eliminate them as they intended to shut down his research.

Feng Qiming carried out these murders, electrocuting Han Song by tampering with a park railing during his morning jog and ambushing Tang Shaorong at a mall. Through these events, Feng Qiming realized Mo Yuanzhi possessed the ability to predict the future. After police found Wanqing's notebook in Mourn Vale, An Lan delivered it to her brother, Feng Qiming. Reading about his sister's painful experiences with RAN treatment, Feng Qiming was devastated.

An Lan revealed that Mo Yuanzhi and Jiang Yuwen's experiments had only caused Wanqing more suffering. She accused Mo Yuanzhi of murdering Han Song and Tang Shaorong instead of finding a cure, and also accused Mo Yuanzhi of sending Feng Qiming to abduct her mother. During their confrontation, An Lan told a shocked Feng Qiming that his sister had only 28 days left.

Meanwhile, in police custody, Ye Kun confessed to being the mysterious "Squid," claiming he committed all the murders and did not know Mo Yuanzhi. An Lan insisted to the police that Ye Kun was lying to protect the real mastermind. Later, An Lan informed Ding Qi that the confession was a ploy to protect Mo Yuanzhi, likely for Wanqing's sake.

Ding Qi recalled asking An Lan to text Maggie to deter her visit, but Maggie came anyway, suggesting Mo Yuanzhi had contacted her. He then tasked An Lan with investigating what Volly, Maggie's company, specifically sought from Moma. Meanwhile, Jiang Yuwen, disguised as an elderly man, met secretly with Tang Xin at a library. He implored her to leave, stating she was no match for a now-crazed Mo Yuanzhi.

Tang Xin, having learned about her father Tang Shaorong's and Uncle Han's deaths, confronted Jiang Yuwen about why he hadn't reported Mo Yuanzhi to the police. Jiang Yuwen explained that the RAN human experiment was a joint project between him and Mo Yuanzhi, and he feared implication. He revealed his ambition to develop RAN 2. 0 to cure all known cancers, needing Mo Yuanzhi's expertise. Therefore, he would not report or kill Mo Yuanzhi until RAN 2. 0 was successful.

Tang Xin cynically dismissed his words as self-serving. Jiang Yuwen then revealed he was running out of time and had returned to regain control of Moma, admitting that Mo Yuanzhi knew Tang Xin was his daughter and thus her presence was unsafe. He urged her to leave, but Tang Xin defiantly declared her identity as Tang Shaorong's daughter. At Moma Group, a former employee, Fu Jun, arrived demanding his three-month overdue severance pay.

The HR manager, Ms. Cai, assured him the payment would be processed promptly. As Maggie was en route, Mo Yuanzhi probed Ding Qi about the safety of the highway she would be traveling, having foreseen a truck accident. Unbeknownst to Mo Yuanzhi, Ding Qi had already preemptively instructed police to intercept a drowsy truck driver, averting the accident. However, Ding Qi's operation was abruptly canceled by his superior, who received a complaint from Mo Yuanzhi alleging abuse of power.

Maggie arrived at Moma, briefly crossing paths with Ding Qi and sensing a vague familiarity. Mo Yuanzhi canceled his afternoon speech and a wedding appointment, stating his sole priority was securing a partnership with Volly. Back at the police station, Ding Qi's superior harshly questioned him about his sources and claims regarding Mo Yuanzhi's involvement, demanding proof.

Ding Qi argued he needed to investigate to find evidence, but his superior, citing immense pressure from above, stripped him of his gun and badge and ordered him confined 24/7. During this time, An Lan made a significant discovery, switching her mother to a new medication in hopes of a breakthrough. Meanwhile, Ding Qi's colleagues, including Yu Peishan, feigned illness to create a diversion, allowing Ding Qi to escape.

Outside, Duan Zheng met Ding Qi, giving him a gun and reaffirming his trust. An Lan informed Ding Qi that Maggie's company, Volly, was investigating eight-year-old RAN data, which Mo Yuanzhi was exploiting. She also discovered that early time loop perceivers, like Feng Wanqing, suffered severe side effects that attacked the body's weakest points, leading to rapid health decline. Ding Qi confirmed he had experienced cardiac arrest in a previous loop day.

An Lan believed Mo Yuanzhi and Jiang Yuwen would also exhibit these debilitating symptoms and vowed to find a way to prevent them. Ding Qi deduced that Mo Yuanzhi's side effects must be growing more pronounced, explaining his urgency to involve Maggie. He instructed Duan Zheng to prioritize the safety of Tang Xin and Han Yufei.

Tang Xin, in a changing room, received a call from Duan Zheng, who urgently requested her and Han Yufei's presence at the police station for their safety. As Tang Xin exited, Mo Yuanzhi spotted her. He excused himself from Maggie and covertly followed Tang Xin, ambushing her in the parking garage, knocking her unconscious, and locking her inside his car. This was witnessed by Han Yufei, who tried to escape but was cornered by Mo Yuanzhi.

Han Yufei threatened to expose the kidnapping video on his phone. Mo Yuanzhi offered shares in exchange for deleting the video, but Han Yufei demanded all of Mo Yuanzhi's shares and the truth about his father's death. Mo Yuanzhi feigned apology, and as Han Yufei pressed him for more information, Mo Yuanzhi seized the opportunity and strangled him to death. Han Yufei's last words were a desperate warning about surveillance cameras. Mo Yuanzhi, exasperated, muttered to himself about how "troublesome" his defiant victims were.
