Double Love Recap
Episode 1 Recap
In the game world of Moonlight Blade, Lu Wanwan, playing as Chu He, sought a moment of peace under a blooming tree, only to be surrounded by a clamoring crowd awaiting the arrival of Genius Ink White, the top-ranked player. When he made his grand entrance, a flustered Chu He accidentally used the wrong skill and bumped into him, sending him flying.
Mortified, she wished she could disappear as other players labeled her a rookie and speculated she had done it intentionally to get his attention. Ink White, however, departed the scene without a word. After logging out, Lu Wanwan grew anxious, fearing revenge. Her fears were realized when she logged back in to find numerous friend requests, including one from Ink White himself. Hesitantly accepting, she was summoned to a seaside cliff.
She immediately apologized profusely, but Ink White was merciless, killing her repeatedly. Lu Wanwan pleaded with him to stop, but he coldly stated that he tends to be petty when he's in a bad mood, and his mood was currently "very bad." His revenge seemingly complete, he abruptly unfriended her, leaving her stunned as an in-game announcement broadcasted the news of their encounter.
Lu Wanwan called her friend, Little Leaf, to complain, lamenting that she had become famous in the game before even making her real-life debut. Little Leaf reminded her about her music video audition that afternoon, urging her to work hard to match her idol, Han Jingmo. In her real life, Lu Wanwan burst into her brother Lu Guanghan's room, jokingly calling him "Beauty Lu."
She insisted he order spicy crayfish for her before explaining the pressure she felt as a senior student trying to find acting opportunities. She bemoaned her name, "Lu Wanwan," which sounds like "doomed" in Chinese, joking it predestined her for failure. When Lu Guanghan suggested she sign with his company, she adamantly refused, not wanting to be seen as succeeding through connections.
Defending her love for Moonlight Blade, she pointed out that her idol, Han Jingmo, endorsed it and begged her brother for information on his schedule. Exasperated, Lu Guanghan revealed a charity basketball match that evening, and she eagerly asked him to get her a ticket. Later, at her audition, Lu Wanwan was tasked with performing a sad narration.
She fabricated a poignant story about her brother, claiming he had lived for forty years unaware of his true identity as an orphan. The fictional tale moved the judges to tears, while coincidentally causing the real Lu Guanghan to sneeze repeatedly. Back in the game, Chu He was exploring when a player named Walk Around the World with a Sword held her at knifepoint, demanding a toll. After he killed her several times, she reluctantly added him as a friend.
He explained that his friends needed a "funny role" for a dungeon run and invited her to join. He took her to meet his team: Young Master of the Tang Sect and, to her shock, Ink White. When asked if they knew each other, Ink White denied it, but Walk Around the World with a Sword cheekily revealed that Chu He was the one who had bumped Ink White, calling it a "bad destiny."
Walk Around the World with a Sword switched to his main account, Three Swordsmanship of Tai Bai, ranked fourth in combat power, while Young Master of the Tang Sect was ranked third. As they entered the Thousands Snow Cave dungeon, the team decided to use voice chat. While the others used voice changers, Chu He used her real voice, which Three Swordsmanship complimented. During the battles, Ink White saved Chu He from a powerful attack, taking damage in her place.
Seeing his health drop, she quickly used a healing skill to restore it. Later, while the team battled a boss on a giant chessboard, Chu He cheered them on from the sidelines. Faced with another powerful monster, she tactically fainted to avoid its devastating attacks. Ultimately, the team triumphed, setting a new dungeon record. The final announcement revealed Ink White's full name to be "Between Ink White."
Afterward, Between Ink White announced he had to log off for a basketball match. Chu He revealed she was also going to see her idol, Han Jingmo. At the match, Lu Wanwan enthusiastically cheered for Han Jingmo. In her excitement, her cola bottle slipped and flew towards the court. Han Jingmo, who is secretly Between Ink White, deftly caught it.
Recognizing her voice from the game and her face from their childhood, he was amused by her cheering and smiled to himself. During the game, he appeared to injure his wrist but brushed it off. Lu Wanwan felt he made direct eye contact with her, thrilled she had caught his attention. After the game, Han Jingmo's hand was still sore, but he declined dinner plans, needing to prepare for an interview.
Later, Lu Wanwan went to the location for her MV retest and encountered Han Jingmo again. She approached him, starting to bring up the cola incident at the basketball game. As he turned, he accidentally splashed water on her. Believing it was retaliation, she became furious. She demanded an apology, accusing him of ignoring her. When he remained silent and tried to leave, she warned him she would retaliate in kind. Getting no response, she poured her own water over his head.
Episode 2 Recap
Following the mutual water-splashing incident, Han Jingmo's staff quickly escorted him away to clean up in the lounge, urging the camera crew to stop filming. Meanwhile, Lu Wanwan went to the restroom to tidy herself. Her friend, Xiaoyan, called, reminding her of an important second audition that day. However, Lu Wanwan, still disheveled and covered in water, lamented that she was already "finished" and couldn't make it to the audition.
Xiaoyan had to cut the call short as she was called away. Han Jingmo, now impeccably dressed, began his interview, calmly stating his goal was to become a truly excellent actor and that winning awards would "just go with the flow," not be the end of his hard work. Lu Wanwan, still fuming, internally declared she wasn't done with him.
The incident of Lu Wanwan splashing water quickly became a trending topic online, drawing the attention of her brother, Lu Guanghan. He summoned Lu Wanwan, demanding to know if she was responsible. When she insisted that Han Jingmo had splashed her first, Lu Guanghan, angered by the perceived slight against his sister, declared he would "rest" Han Jingmo, preventing him from taking any roles for six months, even suggesting a year.
He scorned Lu Wanwan's tendency to "only care about looks," finding her hopeless despite her five-year-long admiration for Han Jingmo. Realizing the severity of such a punishment on an artist's career, Lu Wanwan quickly softened her stance, pleading with her brother not to mix personal grudges with career attacks, even resorting to imitating a dog to beg him.
Despite her plea, she still felt traumatized, noting that every time she washed her hair, it reminded her of being splashed, and she inwardly warned Han Jingmo that his good looks wouldn't allow him to get away with everything, threatening to un-fan him. During his morning run, Han Jingmo encountered a stray kitten. Despite being allergic to cat hair, which caused him to sneeze repeatedly, he carefully put the cat into a cage.
He tried to call his assistant, Song Chi, to take the cat to a pet shop, but Song Chi was on leave and already at the airport. Han Jingmo, left to care for the cat himself, humorously mused that he felt like he had been "splashed" by the cat all night, connecting it to the previous day's incident.
Later, Lu Wanwan, playing her game as the character Chu He, witnessed an in-game confession from a player named "Playboy" to "Ink White." She commented on the confessor's commendable courage, expecting a "miserable end" for them. Ink White swiftly rejected the confession, stating he already had someone he liked, sparking intense speculation among other players.
Gossip quickly spread, with many suspecting Chu He was Ink White's romantic interest, especially since Ink White had never teamed up with a female player before. Players even claimed Ink White and Chu He had "hugged tightly," which Lu Wanwan, playing Chu He, corrected by saying they had merely "bumped into each other."
She expressed frustration at becoming the subject of her own gossip, feeling like "the rumor fell on my shoulder" while she was just sitting at home, and quickly logged off. Lu Guanghan tried to arrange a dual magazine cover shoot for Lu Wanwan with another celebrity, Gu Qiaobei, emphasizing the popularity and exposure it would bring. However, Lu Wanwan flatly refused, not wanting their sibling relationship to be publicly known.
Lu Guanghan argued that many people in their circle already knew and more would find out if she signed with the agency Ying Ge, but Lu Wanwan insisted on a few more days of peace. She then curiously asked why she couldn't take photos with Han Jingmo, to which Lu Guanghan simply stated he didn't like him, a rare point of agreement for them. While out for a photoshoot, Lu Wanwan again encountered Han Jingmo.
Imagining splashing her drink on him as revenge for the previous incident, her thoughts were interrupted when Han Jingmo casually took the soy milk from her hand. He then instructed his agent not to allow staff to carry drinks around the set, citing the presence of equipment and wires as a potential hazard. Lu Wanwan, however, internally vowed that it was "never too late to take revenge."
Han Jingmo observed Lu Wanwan during her photoshoot, remarking to his agent that she had a "good image" and was "very expressive." He then surprisingly suggested that she become his temporary assistant. Lin Wei, Han Jingmo's agent, approached Lu Wanwan, explaining that Han Jingmo's regular assistant was on long leave and she needed someone to cover for two months during the winter vacation, offering a salary 20% higher than the industry average.
Despite initially feigning disinterest in working for money, Lu Wanwan quickly realized that being Han Jingmo's assistant would place her in a prime position for revenge, allowing her to repay his "water pouring" quickly. Lin Wei informed Lu Wanwan that Han Jingmo's hand was injured, which she had noticed during the basketball game, and that he wouldn't be working for about a week.
Lin Wei then gave Lu Wanwan Han Jingmo's address, stating that she would officially start the next day. Lu Wanwan, ecstatic, internally declared her intent to repay the "splashing kindness." Upon returning home, Lu Wanwan was met by a furious Lu Guanghan, who was aghast that she had agreed to be Han Jingmo's assistant. He demanded she immediately refuse the offer, calling her "out of her mind."
Lu Wanwan tried to use lack of sleep as an excuse, but he dismissed it. She then probed whether Lin Wei knew about their sibling relationship, suggesting that Lin Wei was too smart to hire a complete stranger. Despite her brother's continued insistence, Lu Wanwan firmly refused to back down, believing that revenge was best served by doing it herself, even if her brother considered it a "lame" method.
She then confirmed a meeting with Lin Wei for the next afternoon to sign the contract, reaffirming her resolve against Han Jingmo. Back in the game, Chu He was summoned by "Blades Warrior," who challenged her to a duel, accusing her of making his sister lose her "prince charming," Ink White.
Ink White, who had learned of the gossip, quickly messaged Chu He, confirming the situation and offering to guide her, noting that his hand was injured and it wasn't convenient for him to operate. Chu He, expressing concern for his hand, was surprised to find out he was injured. She then had a startling realization: Ink White's hand injury and Han Jingmo's hand injury had occurred at the exact same time. She found the coincidence too significant to ignore.
Despite Chu He's initial overconfidence, boasting about her "unique bones" and martial arts genius, Ink White bluntly told her she couldn't defeat Blades Warrior. He then instructed her to complete some World Quests, having her do the operations due to his injured hand, telling her to deal with the brigands herself. Chu He, determined to "protect Genius" and brag about it for a lifetime, fought enthusiastically. Other players commented on Ink White seemingly teaching Chu He, finding it endearing.
However, Ink White later criticized her basic combat moves, remarking that they were "not as good as automatic combat." Chu He, surprised by the existence of an "automatic combat mode," quickly made an excuse about an important offline matter for Han Jingmo—a reshoot for a previously finished urban drama—and logged off, vowing to "recharge her energy." The next morning, Lu Wanwan arrived at Han Jingmo's home with specially prepared spicy pan-fried buns.
Han Jingmo was surprised to see her, initially closing the door and calling Lin Wei, annoyed that his assistant had arrived without warning. Lin Wei explained she wanted Lu Wanwan to adapt quickly and thought he would be pleased since he chose her. Han Jingmo reluctantly let Lu Wanwan in. He casually ate the extra-spicy buns she offered, claiming they were "delicious" and showing no reaction to the spiciness.
Curious, Lu Wanwan took a bite herself and immediately raced to the bathroom. Moments later, Han Jingmo rushed out to the fridge for water. Seeing his sudden scramble for water, Lu Wanwan secretly smiled, realizing his earlier composure was merely an act. She noted that Han Jingmo was an excellent actor. Later, Lu Wanwan accompanied Han Jingmo to foster the kitten.
Despite Lu Wanwan's claim that she couldn't drive, Han Jingmo took the wheel, driving them to the film set while she rode in the passenger seat. At the set, Han Jingmo, in his "Mr. Han" persona, meticulously assigned Lu Wanwan a series of tasks, from coordinating with the artist coordinator and deputy director to checking costumes and confirming hair and makeup. Lu Wanwan efficiently completed all the tasks.
When she finally tried to rest, Han Jingmo called her over, complaining first about being thirsty and asking for porridge, then about being cold and wanting warm water, and finally about being hot and needing a small fan. Lu Wanwan, internally questioning whether it was too late to resign, diligently fanned him with a small palm fan she found. When she thought he had fallen asleep, she prepared to exact some revenge, but just as she raised her hand, Han Jingmo's eyes snapped open.
Episode 3 Recap
Lu Wanwan had just reached out to hit Han Jingmo's face, but he suddenly opened his eyes, startling her. She quickly retracted her hand, pretending to simply be fanning him. At that moment, her brother Lu Guanghan called. Though Han Jingmo reminded her that phones must be muted on set, he allowed her to take the call outside.
Lu Guanghan scolded Lu Wanwan for becoming Han Jingmo's assistant and demanded she return home, mentioning that their family was dealing with Lin Wei regarding a contract and questioning if they couldn't support her, making her work for "that Han kid." Lu Wanwan, however, ignored his warnings, becoming frantic upon hearing that Gu Qiaobei was arriving at the set, and she hastily went to find him, disregarding Lu Guanghan.
Witnessing Lu Wanwan's fan-like devotion to Gu Qiaobei clearly annoyed Han Jingmo. He first misled her by claiming Gu Qiaobei disliked being called "Xiao Qiao" and preferred "Qiao Qiao." Then, he sarcastically suggested that "Qiao Qiao" particularly liked chilled grapes, which Lu Wanwan eagerly purchased. However, Han Jingmo later revealed that it was "he" who actually loved grapes, consuming all the ones Lu Wanwan had bought, much to her fury.
After dinner with Lu Guanghan, where Lu Wanwan vented her frustrations, Lu Guanghan initially suggested she resign or get fired. Lu Wanwan, however, showed him photos of herself with Gu Qiaobei, arguing that if she continued as Han Jingmo's assistant, she could gather insider information, including Gu Qiaobei's address, to help Lu Guanghan sign him. Lu Guanghan, a talent agency boss, eventually agreed, acknowledging that working for Han Jingmo might toughen her up for the entertainment industry.
He also praised Gu Qiaobei's past acting in indie films, emphasizing his talent. Then, Lu Wanwan, eager to play, immediately logged into the game world as her character Chu He. Between Ink White reminded Chu He of the high stakes, emphasizing that her failure would be an embarrassment because he had personally trained her, and everyone knew she was "the one Great Master likes." Despite the pressure, Chu He fought bravely.
Though she initially struggled, she made a desperate comeback to secure victory, much to Lu Wanwan's excited shouts. After the match, a male player defeated by Chu He started persistently following her, calling her "big sister." Between Ink White, witnessing this, casually made the boy disappear from the game. Suddenly, Gu Qiaobei rushed to the set to inform Han Jingmo that Yiwei had been in a car accident and was hospitalized.
Both men quickly left for the hospital, but Han Jingmo did not forget to tell Lu Wanwan that she didn't need to come to work that day. At the hospital, Han Jingmo and Gu Qiaobei met Yan Shengkai, who had bravely saved Yiwei from the accident by holding the steering wheel. Yan Shengkai, a new and unnoticed member of the film crew, humbly acknowledged them.
To show her gratitude, Yiwei requested Han Jingmo and Gu Qiaobei to look out for Yan Shengkai and help her career, which they promised to do. With an unexpected day off, Lu Wanwan logged into the game world, where she was immediately ambushed and bullied by players from the ABCC gang. They accused her of causing "Liunian Huakai," Between Ink White's acknowledged in-game girlfriend, to leave the game.
Just as things looked dire, Between Ink White appeared, declaring protectively that "nobody can bully my people." He came to her aid, forcing the bullies to retreat, while other players rallied around her, some even calling her "Mistress". Afterward, Between Ink White and Chu He visited Nuan to accept a mission to capture Snow Foxes. This led them to a vast, snowy landscape where they playfully engaged in a snowball fight.
They searched for the elusive Snow Foxes for a long time without success. The mission ended in failure when they were unexpectedly attacked by a Snow Fox, causing Chu He's death in the game. Han Jingmo's car was stuck in a traffic jam, and he called Lu Wanwan to bring him a specific branded watch he had left at her place. Lu Wanwan, seeing the long line of cars, teased him about being late for work.
As she turned to leave, Han Jingmo called her back and, to her dismay, snatched her pink bicycle without asking. Unfazed by its color, Han Jingmo rode off. Annoyed, Lu Wanwan snapped a photo of him riding the pink bike and posted it online, vowing to "use reality to teach him a lesson" for his ungratefulness.
In the game, Chu He, seeking ways to earn money, accepted a challenging "Mighty Escort" mission, which offered substantial rewards, including "five times the valuable goods." After a long and arduous journey through the desert, she acquired a carriage carrying these "red goods." As she continued her solitary journey, she was intercepted by the notorious player, Five Poisons, who had been boasting on the world channel about robbing the "five-fold escort" and aggressively demanded she hand over the goods.
Between Ink White arrived just in time. Instead of directly intervening in the fight, he encouraged Chu He to bravely face Five Poisons, promising to avenge her if she failed. Five Poisons easily defeated Chu He and successfully robbed the goods. As Five Poisons began to boast about his victory on a live stream, Between Ink White swiftly descended, defeating him and reclaiming the goods. Faced with defeat, Five Poisons had no choice but to admit his loss and comically beg for gifts from his live stream viewers.
Episode 4 Recap
After Han Jingmo, also known as Ink White in the game, returned the goods to Chu He, effectively helping her complete a delivery mission, Chu He faced scorn from other players. They accused her of using shameless tricks to seduce Ink White. Ink White immediately displayed his prowess, swiftly defeating the mockers who then dispersed.
He publicly declared that his actions were entirely voluntary and not at Chu He's request, but his attempt to clarify only made matters worse, implying a deeper relationship. Embarrassed, Chu He, whose real-life identity is Lu Wanwan, left the game. Meanwhile, in real life, Gu Qiaobei, a friend of Han Jingmo, speculated that Han Jingmo might have feelings for Chu He.
Han Jingmo dismissed the idea, stating he didn't even know if Chu He was male or female, or any physical details, emphasizing she was just a "series of data." Exiting the game, Lu Wanwan was utterly mortified by the online gossip surrounding her and Ink White. She blamed Five Poisons for live-streaming the incident and vowed to make them pay.
Around the same time, Han Jingmo discovered that a photo of him riding a pink bicycle had become a trending topic. Annoyed by the unexpected publicity, he received a call from his agent, Lin Wei, who informed him that the "Mountain Down" brand had seen the photo and wanted him to endorse their new product, and that the company was actively pursuing the lucrative deal. Separately, Gu Qiaobei commented on his ability to make even "sexy pink" look good.
Lu Wanwan also saw the news topping the hot searches, initially expecting to see him mocked. To her dismay, the online comments were full of praise, calling him handsome and stylish, complimenting his long legs and "prince charming" aura. She fumed, frustrated that no matter what Han Jingmo did, he was always lauded. Her father, Lu Guanghan, later congratulated her, revealing that the company was finally securing the "Mountain Down" endorsement.
He explained that although the brand had long sought Han Jingmo, it was her accidental stunt that had showcased Han Jingmo's immense fan appeal, accelerating the deal. Lu Guanghan even called her "meritorious," but Lu Wanwan felt enraged; her original intention was to embarrass Han Jingmo, yet she had inadvertently helped his career. Lu Wanwan later requested a week's leave to focus on her graduation thesis.
Han Jingmo, who knew she was behind the "pink bike" photo, sarcastically asked if she was leaving him without someone to help him trend. He then set a condition: if she didn't achieve "excellent" grades, she wouldn't be allowed back as his assistant. Lu Wanwan, confident in her academic abilities as a three-time scholarship winner, assured him she was determined to be an excellent graduate.
On the ride home, Lu Wanwan couldn't help but surreptitiously observe Han Jingmo, mentally checking off the online poll's list of his most popular features: appearance, voice, collarbones, hands, and abs. When she tried to peek at his abs, he caught her, teasing her about her "ambush" tactics.
She then congratulated him on securing the "Mountain Down" endorsement, but Han Jingmo, knowing full well she was responsible for the initial post, thanked the "person who posted on Post Bar" for "deliberately smearing" him, which unexpectedly led to the endorsement, implying her failed attempt at sabotage only benefited him. He then added that five hundred yuan for the pink bicycle incident would be deducted from her salary, leaving Lu Wanwan speechless and frustrated by his cunning.
Later, Lu Wanwan accompanied Han Jingmo to a dinner event with the "Mountain Down" advertising team. Upon entering the venue, she struggled with the door, amusingly prompting Han Jingmo to act as a doorman. She then gatecrashed the dinner, where she encountered Li Weiqian, Han Jingmo's rumored on-screen girlfriend, who was also the female lead for the upcoming advertisement. Back at Han Jingmo's hotel room, Lu Wanwan immediately sprawled out on the sofa, exhausted.
Han Jingmo, with a stern expression, sarcastically commented that she was the "most high-maintenance assistant" he had ever seen, listing her "demands" like being a personal driver and doorman, and gatecrashing his dinner. Han Jingmo messaged Lu Wanwan, asking her to buy some things for him. Receiving no reply, he became concerned she might have overeaten at the dinner and went to her room, finding the door unlocked. He discovered her playing "Moonlight Blade," the very game he endorsed.
He offered to use his influence to "take care" of her in the game if she shared her account details. Lu Wanwan, recognizing the dangerous possibility of him discovering her alter-ego, Chu He, and the infamous "kicking Ink White" incident, quickly stammered out excuses, claiming she had just started playing two days ago and didn't even enjoy the game, pretending to be a casual player simply supporting his endorsement.
The next day, Li Weiqian, still trying to get closer to Han Jingmo, saw Lu Wanwan struggling with many shopping bags outside Han Jingmo's hotel room. A "Do Not Disturb" sign was displayed, causing Lu Wanwan to hesitate. Li Weiqian feigned helpfulness by offering to knock, but then subtly stepped back, "apologizing" to Han Jingmo for not stopping Lu Wanwan from knocking, implicitly making Lu Wanwan appear inconsiderate.
Han Jingmo, however, merely chastised Lu Wanwan to be more observant of the "Do Not Disturb" sign in the future, then brusquely dismissed Li Weiqian when she attempted to discuss filming ideas, clearly uninterested in her advances. On the day of the shoot, which began at an early 3:00 AM, Li Weiqian arrived significantly late. While other crew members and assistants were diligently preparing, Lu Wanwan was leisurely applying makeup.
Han Jingmo subtly hinted for her to be more professional, asking "Do you need to touch up your makeup?" , but Lu Wanwan, clueless, misunderstood, thinking he was asking about his own makeup. During the filming, Li Weiqian, attempting to ride a bike for a shot, accidentally lost control and caused Han Jingmo to fall, resulting in a head injury and significant bleeding.
As he lay injured, he clearly saw Lu Wanwan rushing to his side, frantically checking if he was conscious and could see her. She took charge, calling for a car to take him to the hospital, running ahead to find the emergency room and registering him. After the doctor confirmed it was only a superficial injury, Han Jingmo observed Lu Wanwan's relief and continued attentiveness, even offering to change his dressing every two hours.
He was quietly pleased by her genuine concern. On the way back, Li Weiqian tried to join Han Jingmo in his car, but he deliberately only allowed Lu Wanwan in before driving off, leaving Li Weiqian visibly disappointed. Inside the car, Han Jingmo couldn't help but smile, teasing Lu Wanwan by asking if she was worried about him. Though she denied it, he pressed on, feigning helplessness due to his injured hand.
He declared that for now, all his daily needs—cooking, changing dressings, and general care—would fall to Lu Wanwan, using her earlier words against her: "Sometimes, if people don't push themselves, they won't know how much potential they have." Lu Wanwan groaned internally at the prospect of her new responsibilities.
Episode 5 Recap
Lu Wanwan, carrying a large amount of groceries to care for Han Jingmo, was surprised to find Gu Qiaobei also arriving, residing in the same building as Han Jingmo. She expressed her delight, recalling his culinary skills from a food show, particularly his sweet and sour ribs. Despite Han Jingmo's sarcastic remarks about Gu Qiaobei's cooking being burnt and unappetizing, Lu Wanwan eagerly pressed Gu Qiaobei to cook for them, suggesting their combined efforts might yield a good result.
Han Jingmo, subtly showing jealousy, then borrowed Lu Wanwan's phone, feigning a dead battery, only to discover her game ID was "Chu He," a fact that brought a satisfied smile to his face as he watched her in the kitchen. During dinner, the food prepared by Gu Qiaobei proved difficult to eat.
Lu Guanghan, who had arrived ostensibly to check on Jingmo's injury, attempted to recruit Gu Qiaobei for his Ying Ge company's upcoming food show, praising his perceived culinary talent. Lu Wanwan feigned ignorance of Lu Guanghan's identity. Han Jingmo, in an act of support, deliberately consumed several servings of the unpalatable sweet and sour ribs, leading to his hospitalization. Lu Wanwan accompanied him, and while waiting for his infusion, she logged into her game.
In the game, as Chu He, Lu Wanwan was immediately challenged by a group of players. Han Jingmo, in his in-game persona "Between Ink White," swiftly came to her defense, declaring that anyone who bothered her would face his wrath. Other players, witnessing the exchange, began teasing Chu He, implying a "bossy president" had fallen for a "little girl," a reference to Lu Wanwan's earlier explanation about caring for her sick boss.
Unable to clarify her professional relationship, Lu Wanwan hastily logged off the game. Later, Gu Qiaobei teased Han Jingmo about his protective behavior towards Chu He in the game, questioning if he had developed feelings for her. Han Jingmo did not admit it. Gu Qiaobei then speculated if Han Jingmo was devising a new way to annoy her, to which Han Jingmo cryptically replied he was "thinking" about it.
Gu Qiaobei also probed about Han Jingmo reconsidering Lu Guanghan's job offer, which Han Jingmo firmly rejected. Soon after, Han Jingmo's agent, Lin Wei, assigned Lu Wanwan to accompany Han Jingmo for a full-day variety show filming. During the car ride, Han Jingmo insisted Lu Wanwan feed him a sandwich, provocatively calling her feigned annoyance "acting." On set, Han Jingmo observed Lu Wanwan diligently coordinating details and noticed she hadn't eaten.
After work, seeing her fall asleep in the car, he considerately reclined her seat. Upon reaching the garage, Lu Wanwan abruptly woke up, startled to find Han Jingmo standing outside the car, and quickly exited. Back at his apartment, Han Jingmo demanded Lu Wanwan cook him two bowls of noodles. Despite her initial frustration, they ended up sharing instant noodles, with Han Jingmo sarcastically remarking on her presence.
The next morning, Han Jingmo subtly encouraged Lu Wanwan to stay and rest by using reverse psychology, telling her to go home. Pleased, she remained and was amused to see him in a bathrobe. Soon after, Gu Qiaobei arrived with breakfast. Lu Wanwan, fearing misunderstanding, quickly hid. Gu Qiaobei, however, noticed women's clothes on the sofa and became suspicious, prompting Han Jingmo to quickly usher him out, offering a flimsy excuse about the clothes being part of a costume set.
After leaving Han Jingmo's place, Gu Qiaobei encountered Lu Guanghan in the neighborhood. Initially wary and assuming another recruitment attempt, Gu Qiaobei mentioned his plan to move. However, Lu Guanghan reassured him of a changed approach, promising to respect his decisions and only requested his phone number, which Gu Qiaobei reluctantly provided. Lu Guanghan, still determined to recruit Gu Qiaobei, devised a new strategy.
Knowing Gu Qiaobei played "Moonlight Blade," he instructed Lu Wanwan to create a female character in the game to get closer to him. Lu Wanwan registered a character named "Top Star of Lu" and joined Between Ink White's (Han Jingmo) guild. In the game, both "Three Swordsmanship of Tai Bai" and Between Ink White expressed an interest in the "Top Star of Lu" character.
Later, Lu Wanwan privately informed Between Ink White that "Top Star of Lu" was actually a male, her friend, surprising the other players. Shortly after, Han Jingmo received a call about a new drama, "Big Dunk," and prepared to leave with Lu Wanwan.
Episode 6 Recap
As Han Jingmo's assistant, Lu Wanwan was entrusted with his Weibo account and password for future updates. Curious, Lu Wanwan opened the account and immediately saw news about Li Weiqian, who had announced her frequent play of the mobile game Han Jingmo endorsed. Full of gossip, Lu Wanwan directly asked Han Jingmo about his relationship with Li Weiqian and whether there had been any intimate moments. Han Jingmo firmly clarified that there was nothing between them.
Han Jingmo then took Lu Wanwan to the company. While he went inside to handle some business, Lu Wanwan waited by the entrance. To her surprise, she spotted acclaimed actor Tao Yichen leaving the building. Lu Wanwan, an old acquaintance, eagerly greeted "Mr. Yi Chen," and their warm interaction showed their close bond. They discussed getting together and even planned to include Zhao Jinghang in their next meal.
Moments after Tao Yichen departed, Han Jingmo emerged, his face dark, expressing his irritation that Lu Wanwan admired every celebrity except him. As they left the company, Han Jingmo instructed Lu Wanwan to buy him a vanilla ice cream. Watching him leisurely enjoy the treat in the car, Lu Wanwan longed for a taste.
Han Jingmo teased her by offering a bite, but upon seeing her prepared spoon, he mischievously pulled the ice cream away and closed the car door, leaving Lu Wanwan fuming. Back at home, she consoled herself by eating plenty of ice cream, joking that her family had a wholesale supply. She then plotted her revenge against Han Jingmo, imagining herself as a coach in the "Big Dunk" game, scolding and even hitting him.
Later, in the game "Moonlight Blade," Chu He (Lu Wanwan) chatted with Between Ink White (Han Jingmo). Lu Wanwan speculated that Li Weiqian played the game for Han Jingmo due to their recent dating rumors. Between Ink White, acting as if he had inside information from a friend at Ying Ge, clarified that Han Jingmo and Li Weiqian had no private contact.
Lu Wanwan, still curious, pressed him for details about Li Weiqian's and then Han Jingmo's relationship status, to which Between Ink White simply replied "no" regarding Han Jingmo having a girlfriend. However, when she asked if Gu Qiaobei had a girlfriend, Between Ink White refused to disclose, frustrating Lu Wanwan. During the conversation, Lu Wanwan openly declared her preference for Gu Qiaobei, stating she didn't like Han Jingmo.
Suddenly, Han Jingmo's official in-game account, which had never been online, made a grand appearance, causing a stir among players. Seizing the opportunity, Lu Wanwan, as his assistant, quickly posted a screenshot on Weibo, promoting his game. However, sharp-eyed fans quickly realized it was an assistant's post due to her phone model, leading to ridicule and forcing Lu Wanwan to swiftly delete it.
Her game companions teased her about Han Jingmo having an "unreliable assistant," leaving her seething but unable to refute. Due to the surge in player activity, the game company requested Han Jingmo sign an additional agreement to regularly go online. At the film set, Lu Wanwan was visibly captivated by Han Jingmo's appearance after he was styled for his role, acknowledging her growing admiration for him.
She revealed her deep connection to "Big Dunk," admitting she was a "crazy fan" of the character Jiang Xun, whom Han Jingmo was portraying. As a fan, she emotionally "handed over" the role to him. Later, Li Weiqian approached Han Jingmo, complimenting his performance, but he barely acknowledged her, turning away and leaving her standing awkwardly. When the secondary female lead for a scene was absent, Han Jingmo took the initiative to suggest Lu Wanwan stand in for the shoot.
Dressed in character, Lu Wanwan was praised by the director and crew for her excellent temperament and appearance, highlighting her own potential. After the shoot, Li Weiqian again approached Han Jingmo, proposing to treat him to a meal as an apology for his previous injury on a commercial. Han Jingmo promptly declined, stating he had plans to "reward" his assistant. He then pointedly pulled Lu Wanwan away, leaving a visibly annoyed Li Weiqian stomping her foot.
During dinner, Lu Wanwan remarked on Han Jingmo using her as a shield, but he insisted he genuinely wanted to treat her, acknowledging her hard work and concern when he was injured. Lu Wanwan confessed her anxiety, admitting it was her first time as an assistant, and she worried about her artist getting hurt.
When Han Jingmo revealed he had a late dinner engagement and couldn't eat much to maintain his figure, Lu Wanwan, feeling it would be a waste, cheerfully ate his share, jokingly stating that her weight strategy was to "lose 10kg for every 50kg gained." Later, back at her place, Lu Wanwan humorously fantasized about being a strict coach in "Big Dunk," scolding a clumsy Han Jingmo and even imagining hitting his head.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a call from Gu Qiaobei, who asked her to pick up a heavily drunk Han Jingmo from a restaurant. Upon arriving, Lu Wanwan found Han Jingmo completely passed out. Gu Qiaobei explained that Han Jingmo, knowing Lu Wanwan's desire to act, had drunk excessively on an empty stomach to secure an acting opportunity for her in the new drama.
Gu Qiaobei then quickly departed for his grandfather's birthday celebration, leaving Lu Wanwan to manage the unconscious Han Jingmo. Lu Wanwan struggled to get the heavy Han Jingmo back to his apartment, even resorting to using a folding cart to transport him. Once inside, she prepared a bath for him. However, when she stepped out to answer a call from Miss Wei, the disoriented Han Jingmo mistakenly stumbled into the cold water. The sudden shock immediately sobered him up.
Furious, he glared at Lu Wanwan, accusing her of deliberately putting him in cold water. As Han Jingmo, still disoriented, emerged from the bathroom, he coincidentally spotted Gu Qiaobei's photo on Lu Wanwan's phone wallpaper. He became instantly annoyed, demanding to know why she liked Gu Qiaobei but not him, despite her having "unfollowed" him. He then insisted she change the photo.
Lu Wanwan, seeing him act like a petulant child, humored him and agreed, though she genuinely liked the original photo. She even promised to use a "silly" expression of his for the new wallpaper. The next day, Lu Wanwan couldn't resist teasing Han Jingmo about his drunken, childlike antics from the previous night, jokingly regretting not recording his "silly" and "pathetic" behavior that made him seem like a "poor kid" who needed "hugs and pampering."
Han Jingmo, embarrassed and annoyed, moved closer to her, causing Lu Wanwan's heart to race. He also ignored a phone call from Li Weiqian, telling Lu Wanwan that the rumors about them were false and there had never been anything between them. In "Moonlight Blade," Between Ink White (Han Jingmo) invited Chu He (Lu Wanwan) to embark on the "Love as One Heart" quest, an in-game couple system.
He explained his frustration with constantly receiving "Love Flowers" from other players and his desire to experience the new system. He then formally proposed marriage to Chu He, causing a flurry of excitement and "heartbreak" among other players in the game world. Between Ink White playfully gave Chu He several options for addressing him, such as "my lady" or "honey."
Episode 7 Recap
In the game, Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo were attempting to complete the challenging "Love as One Heart" mission. Lu Wanwan expressed her frustration and anxiety over the numerous complex steps involved, including missions like "Asking God's Will," "Jade Tree," "Star Proof River," a "test about marriage custom," and the preparation of "betrothal gifts." Han Jingmo, however, remained calm, advising her to simply focus on maximizing their in-game fondness first.
Later, Lu Wanwan’s brother, Lu Guanghan, confronted her, concerned after learning she had stayed overnight at Han Jingmo’s place. Lu Wanwan clarified that Han Jingmo had been drunk, and she was forced to stay and care for him. Lu Guanghan then informed her that Han Jingmo's original assistant was returning, meaning Lu Wanwan’s temporary role was over.
He strongly advised her to cease being an assistant altogether, emphasizing that as a Drama Academy student, such a position, especially for Han Jingmo, would become "gossip and dark past" that would resurface upon her debut. Despite the practical logic, Lu Wanwan found herself feeling a surprising sense of disappointment. The following day, Lu Wanwan went to Han Jingmo’s company to return her belongings and complete the handover.
Han Jingmo confronted her, mockingly calling her a "bad girl" and dismissing her as unqualified even for an assistant's role. Unfazed, Lu Wanwan retorted that she was now free and could buy any flavor of ice cream she desired, no longer needing to consider anyone else's preferences. Han Jingmo watched her confidently depart, his irritation mounting.
Later, while talking to a friend, Lu Wanwan recounted Han Jingmo's insult, but her friend consoled her, agreeing that Han Jingmo was right but that Lu Wanwan was "only bad while talking," and encouraging her not to dwell on it as they wouldn't see each other again. After returning home, Lu Wanwan logged into "Moonlight Blade" and encountered "Between Ink White," who she was unaware was Han Jingmo’s in-game alias.
They met at the "Cliff of the Twin Maples," an unromantic location that Lu Wanwan wished to leave for their couple mission, but "Between Ink White" refused. He then offered his account password to help them increase their in-game fondness, even hinting that he knew about her recent newfound free time. Appearing troubled, he asked Lu Wanwan if a coworker who suddenly leaves without notice is "heartless."
Lu Wanwan, sensing his underlying reluctance to part with this "coworker" and drawing from her own recent experience of leaving Han Jingmo's side, suggested that the departing person might not be happy and could simply be "bad at expressing their true feelings." Upon hearing this, "Between Ink White’s" mood visibly improved.
During the opening ceremony of the film "Big Dunk," an emergency arose when Xu Anran, the cast female supporting actress, suffered a facial injury in a car accident, preventing her from joining the crew. Han Jingmo quickly recommended Lu Wanwan to Director Zheng, praising her performance during his own audition. Director Zheng agreed to review her audition clip.
Shortly after, Lu Wanwan’s brother, Lu Guanghan, who was also the boss of Ying Ge, excitedly informed her that he decided to give her a chance for the role, explaining that Director Zheng had been impressed by her natural acting with Han Jingmo. Lu Wanwan was thrilled, as it was a role she deeply admired. However, she also felt a nervous flutter at the prospect of sharing agent Lin Wei with Han Jingmo and seeing him daily on set.
The following day, Lu Wanwan was on set for her trial scene. Despite initial promising takes, she became visibly nervous during the formal shoot, struggling to convey the required emotions for her character, a basketball manager. Li Weiqian, also on set, made cutting remarks, suggesting Lu Wanwan was only suited for an assistant role and lacked acting talent. After multiple failed takes, Director Zheng grew frustrated.
Seeing Lu Wanwan’s mounting pressure, Han Jingmo stepped in, suggesting they temporarily shift to filming other scenes to allow her time to compose herself. Later, Lu Wanwan privately thanked Han Jingmo for his intervention. Despite his evident concern, Han Jingmo sarcastically retorted that "a smart brain is a good thing, but you can't expect everyone to have it," effectively calling her a "pig." Lu Wanwan was left seething with frustration.
Yi Wei, recently discharged from the hospital, visited the set, bringing Yan Shengkai with her. Lu Wanwan was surprised to witness Han Jingmo’s unusually gentle and considerate demeanor towards Yi Wei, a side she had never seen. Yi Wei, showing her thoughtfulness, brought refreshments for the crew and subtly asked Han Jingmo to help promote Yan Shengkai. She also playfully mentioned her fear of becoming "fat" if she remained idle.
Later, Lu Wanwan learned from their shared agent, Lin Wei, that Han Jingmo also played "Moonlight Blade" and was quite skilled, though his in-game identity remained a mystery to her. Although a sea-view villa was arranged for Han Jingmo, he chose to stay with the main crew, believing it would be more convenient for discussing scenes with the director and fostering better "tacit understanding" during group scenes, especially with the basketball team.
His assistant mentioned that Lu Wanwan also lived nearby, which could facilitate their communication. Later, in the game, Han Jingmo, as "Between Ink White," asked Lu Wanwan about "Top Star of Lu," curious about their cohabitation and relationship, particularly since he heard "Top Star of Lu" was a man. Lu Wanwan truthfully revealed that "Top Star of Lu" was her elder brother, which visibly relieved Han Jingmo.
She further shared that her entire family played games and shared a common admiration for Gu Qiaobei. In the game, Han Jingmo, as "Between Ink White," diligently helped Lu Wanwan level up and practice. When Lu Wanwan expressed concern about affecting his unbeaten record in the PK Ranking List if they dueled, he reassuringly declared that it was "normal to lose to his wife."
He intentionally allowed Lu Wanwan to "double kill" him multiple times, prompting her to excitedly take screenshots of these "victory" moments, which she boasted she could "brag about forever." This unusual turn of events quickly sparked widespread online discussion and "jealousy" among other players, who correctly speculated that "Between Ink White" had deliberately allowed her to win.
Overwhelmed by the sudden attention, Lu Wanwan quickly logged off, humorously remarking that "people fear fame as pigs fear being fat," deciding to retreat from the spotlight. During a basketball scene for "Big Dunk," Han Jingmo made an accidental mistake, instinctively performing a dunk when his character, Jiang Xun, was meant to be unskilled. Director Zheng, rather than scolding him, gently attributed the error to Han Jingmo's exceptional playing ability and calmly requested a retake.
Lu Wanwan, observing this leniency compared to her own earlier struggles, silently felt the injustice of the situation. After completing his scene, Han Jingmo took a break backstage. Li Weiqian approached him, offering water and trying to engage in conversation, but he pointedly ignored her. Instead, he playfully went to sit next to Lu Wanwan, teasingly taking her seat. As Han Jingmo drank water, Lu Wanwan found herself captivated by his handsome appearance, subtly swallowing in admiration.
Catching her gaze, Han Jingmo playfully called her a "lecher." Separately, Lu Wanwan also delivered a "cold-proof gift bag" from her brother, Lu Guanghan, to Han Jingmo, who politely accepted it but requested that such gifts not be sent again. Lu Wanwan's friend, Little Leaf, came to visit her on set. They greeted each other with an excited embrace, as if reuniting after a long separation.
Little Leaf thoughtfully brought reference books to help Lu Wanwan, who was struggling with a particular scene. While they were eating, Little Leaf suddenly saw some news on her phone and exclaimed in surprise, revealing that Lu Wanwan had already "offended someone" shortly after joining the crew.
Episode 8 Recap
Lu Wanwan discovered alarming news online featuring photos of Li Weiqian supposedly squatting to eat on set, portrayed as the epitome of dedication, while Lu Wanwan was depicted as an arrogant diva. Enraged and disbelieving, Lu Wanwan knew Li Weiqian never ate like that, and she furiously ordered vast amounts of food in protest. To counter the negative publicity surrounding the "Big Dunk" project, Han Jingmo provided legal evidence to Lu Guanghan.
He explained his actions were to prevent the production from being tarnished. Armed with this information, Lu Guanghan pressured Li Weiqian's manager, Eric, warning him about Li Weiqian's conduct and threatening to expose more photos if the misleading news wasn't removed within an hour. The negative stories swiftly vanished from the internet. Upon learning of Han Jingmo's involvement in resolving the matter, Lu Wanwan sought him out to express her gratitude.
She declared them "even" regarding a past incident where she believed he had splashed water on her. Han Jingmo clarified the misunderstanding, explaining that a crew member had accidentally knocked over a cup, spilling water on her, and he was actually turning to fetch tissues when she retaliated by splashing him.
He then jokingly, yet somewhat seriously, asked her to become his fan again and change her phone wallpaper from Gu Qiaobei to his own picture, a request Lu Wanwan defiantly refused. Later, Li Weiqian approached Lu Wanwan, tearfully apologizing for the misleading photos posted by her fans. She claimed to have been unaware of the situation but expressed deep regret for any harm caused, pleading for Lu Wanwan's forgiveness and friendship, promising to earn her trust over time.
Soon after, Li Weiqian publicly praised Lu Wanwan on social media, commending her as a "very hardworking and professional rookie actress," leaving Lu Wanwan wondering if Han Jingmo had influenced Li Weiqian's sudden change of heart. Han Jingmo later approached Lu Wanwan to discuss script changes, revealing a new, lengthy scene had been added.
Lu Wanwan, annoyed by the extra lines, quickly shifted her focus when Han Jingmo casually mentioned that the new scene was a substitute because Gu Qiaobei had injured his wrist. Immediately concerned, Lu Wanwan anxiously inquired about the severity of Gu Qiaobei's injury and whether he had received medical attention. Han Jingmo unexpectedly followed Lu Wanwan on social media, sparking intense fan discussion.
Her manager, Lin Wei, swiftly intervened, instructing Lu Wanwan to follow him back and reply to a specific comment, then handled the subsequent public relations. Later, Lu Guanghan questioned Lu Wanwan about Han Jingmo's actions. Lu Wanwan speculated that Han Jingmo intended to use his fan base to cyberbully her or to publicly distance himself from Li Weiqian. Lu Guanghan, however, found her theories illogical, questioning why Han Jingmo would jeopardize his popularity.
During this conversation, Lu Wanwan expressed frustration that Lu Guanghan was still focused on Gu Qiaobei, confirming she hadn't yet obtained Gu Qiaobei's game account. She did, however, reassure him that Gu Qiaobei's wrist injury was merely a sprain from basketball practice and not serious. In the game "Moonlight Blade," Lu Wanwan, playing as Chu He, observed a surge of attention for Time Flies Flower Blooms, who had recently returned.
Many players were showering Time Flies Flower Blooms with "Love Flowers," speculating she was back to marry Between Ink White, especially with the "Love as One Heart System" opening. Chu He's guildmates explained that Time Flies Flower Blooms, a powerful "goddess" and guild leader, had long sought a deeper relationship with Between Ink White, though he had shown no interest.
Soon, other players began publicly mocking Chu He, calling her disparaging names and asserting she was unworthy of Between Ink White. Chu He, appearing to initially agree with the sentiment, then cleverly announced that Between Ink White was, in fact, planning to marry "her" with a popular streamer as the MC. Just as Chu He began to worry about Between Ink White's absence, he suddenly appeared.
Between Ink White declared he had screenshotted everyone who "scolded his wife" (Chu He) and vowed to exclusively hunt them down in the game. Time Flies Flower Blooms attempted to de-escalate, suggesting it was a "misunderstanding," but Between Ink White firmly retorted that he indeed minded and that "I'm the only one who can bully my wife." Time Flies Flower Blooms then instructed her guild members to apologize to Chu He.
Between Ink White reiterated his stance before privately informing Chu He that he had overheard her previous remarks about him "forcing" her to marry him, then promptly logged off, citing work overtime. Han Jingmo unexpectedly video-called Lu Wanwan, catching her off-guard and clearly not studying her script. He then took a screenshot of her embarrassed expression and warned her that if she made any mistakes during filming that day, he would release the photo across the entire internet.
This threat infuriated Lu Wanwan, who mentally branded him as "scheming." Lu Guanghan made an unannounced visit to the set, bringing drinks for the crew. Upon his arrival, Li Weiqian enthusiastically greeted him, offering to get him coffee, but Lu Guanghan remained distant and cold towards her. He then approached Gu Qiaobei, noting his injured hand, and presented him with an ointment sample that Han Jingmo endorsed.
Lu Guanghan insisted Gu Qiaobei try it, stressing the importance of actors avoiding injuries that could disrupt filming. Gu Qiaobei initially tried to decline, but Lu Guanghan's persistence led him to reluctantly accept the ointment. During a scene, Lu Wanwan was nearly struck by a falling basketball hoop. She closed her eyes, bracing for impact, when Han Jingmo swiftly pulled her to safety. Both fell in the process, with Lu Wanwan landing directly on top of him.
As the crew rushed to their aid, Lu Wanwan revealed she had sprained her ankle but, despite the pain, insisted on finishing the scene to avoid disrupting production. After completing the shot, Han Jingmo carried her off the set. Li Weiqian, observing the scene with palpable jealousy, then "accidentally" spilled hot water on her assistant, quickly compensating her with a red envelope and cautioning her to be discreet.
Following the accident, Lu Wanwan's ankle injury was confirmed to be a sprain at the hospital. While there, Han Jingmo offered to treat her to a meal as thanks for his help. She jokingly suggested inviting Gu Qiaobei, then clarified she was only jesting and that the invitation was a sincere thank-you, adding that her brother, Lu Guanghan, would also appreciate an opportunity to meet Gu Qiaobei.
Han Jingmo later drove her home, though she initially insisted on returning to the set to observe the ongoing filming despite her injury. At home, Lu Guanghan had been anxiously awaiting her return. Upon her arrival, he rushed to greet her, expressing deep concern about her injury. Lu Wanwan, however, downplayed its severity, implying that Han Jingmo had exaggerated it to facilitate schedule changes. Lu Guanghan, still visibly worried, urged her to be more cautious and avoid further injuries.
Back in the game, Lu Wanwan (as Chu He) learned from her guildmates that she had been secretly trying to acquire the elusive "Between Xing Yuan Pass." Shortly after, Between Ink White appeared, expressing frustration over his own unsuccessful attempts to obtain the rare item. Time Flies Flower Blooms immediately offered her "Between Xing Yuan Pass" to Between Ink White, who politely declined.
Chu He then privately messaged Time Flies Flower Blooms, offering to buy the pass, which Time Flies Flower Blooms initially refused as "not for sale." However, Time Flies Flower Blooms quickly changed her mind, proposing a high-stakes duel: if Chu He won, the pass was hers, but if Chu He lost, she had to permanently quit the game.
Determined to secure her marriage with Between Ink White, Chu He accepted the challenge, and Between Ink White, in turn, reassured her of his protection. Three days later, Lu Wanwan returned to the set, bringing drinks for the crew and apologizing for any delays caused by her injury.
However, the director confronted her about her demanding schedule, pointing out that as the female lead with over 600 scenes, she was only dedicating five hours a day to filming, excluding meal and rest breaks. Frustrated, he presented her with an ultimatum: either she abandon her commitments to other projects, or he would be forced to replace her in "Big Dunk."
Episode 9 Recap
Li Weiqian sought out Han Jingmo, asking for his help with Director Zheng. She explained that she was scheduled to work on multiple dramas and her agent had already secured the job, so withdrawing now would mean breaking her contract. Han Jingmo, however, stated he couldn't assist her with such matters and advised her to discuss it with her agent directly. Meanwhile, Lu Wanwan was excelling in her acting, often completing scenes in a single take.
After filming, Han Jingmo told Lu Wanwan he was taking her to meet a fan whose birthday it was, named Han Xixing. Lu Wanwan was excited, speculating if Han Xixing was Han Jingmo's younger brother because they shared the same surname, and even offered to send him signed photos. Upon arriving at Han Jingmo’s family home, they were greeted by Han Jingmo’s grandpa.
Grandpa, who had a habit of calling Han Jingmo "brat," immediately questioned Han Jingmo about Lu Wanwan, suspicious if she was just a random girl brought to fool him. Han Jingmo reassured his grandpa that he was diligently working towards fulfilling his grandpa's wishes, implying his affections for Lu Wanwan. Grandpa, eager for a big family celebration, spoke of "getting this done" this year, involving both parents' families.
Han Jingmo suggested they needed time to experience things and understand each other, as they had "just started." Grandpa then sent them to the garden to enjoy themselves. As Han Jingmo and Lu Wanwan explored the large garden and picked oranges, Grandpa and a helper named Hua secretly followed, taking pictures and commenting on Han Jingmo's perceived clumsiness in romance. Lu Wanwan almost fell for a deceptively placed "best pick position" sign, prompting teasing from Han Jingmo.
Later, during lunch, Lu Wanwan noticed "Han Xixing" on a birthday decoration, finally realizing that Han Xixing was indeed the grandpa whose birthday it was. During the meal, Guan Yiwei unexpectedly arrived, warmly embracing Grandpa and greeting Han Jingmo. Lu Wanwan, observing their close interaction and Yiwei's previous visits to the set, wondered if Guan Yiwei was Han Jingmo's true romantic interest.
Grandpa, sensing Lu Wanwan's discomfort, quickly explained that Han Jingmo and Guan Yiwei had grown up together and were closer than siblings, assuring Lu Wanwan there was no need to feel awkward. Guan Yiwei then happily announced that she had found her Mr. Right, a piece of news that greatly pleased Grandpa and brought a noticeable sense of relief and a bright smile to Lu Wanwan's face.
After Guan Yiwei departed, Grandpa insisted that Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo stay overnight, citing that both had consumed alcohol and had no work the following day. Despite Lu Wanwan's initial hesitations, Grandpa firmly led them to a room he had prepared, which was filled with Han Jingmo's childhood belongings. Grandpa expressed how happy Lu Wanwan's presence made his birthday. After Grandpa left, Han Jingmo attempted to return to his own room but discovered the door was locked.
Lu Wanwan, wondering if he had locked it, was told it wasn't him. She suggested calling Grandpa to open it, but Han Jingmo revealed he already had and they just had to wait. Lu Wanwan then explored the room, finding old notes and "love letters" from Han Jingmo's admirers from his childhood, playfully teasing him about his long-standing popularity.
Meanwhile, Gu Qiaobei, recovering from an injury, learned from his doctor that the ointment given to him by Lu Guanghan was a specialized, athlete-only formulation, not a commercial sample as Lu Guanghan had claimed, and was very difficult to obtain. Gu Qiaobei immediately called Lu Guanghan to express his gratitude, acknowledging the effort it must have taken to acquire it.
Lu Guanghan, downplaying his actions, jokingly stated he considered Gu Qiaobei a brother and expected nothing in return, but then lightheartedly added that if Gu Qiaobei truly felt indebted, he could cook another meal for him. Gu Qiaobei, surprised but agreeable, said he would, prompting Lu Guanghan to quickly clarify he was just kidding and Gu Qiaobei should prioritize his recovery and acting. Gu Qiaobei, however, found himself wondering if his cooking was genuinely good, given Lu Guanghan's request.
Back at the Han residence, Grandpa reappeared at the locked door, feigning distress as he announced that the key had broken off inside the lock. He then pretended to call a locksmith, only to relay that the locksmith wouldn't be able to come until the next morning, effectively trapping Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo for the night. Han Jingmo, having seen through his grandpa's clear manipulation, advised Lu Wanwan to save her energy.
Lu Wanwan briefly considered sleeping on the floor, but finding no suitable bedding, they eventually settled into the single bed, keeping a respectful distance. Unable to sleep, Lu Wanwan inquired further about Han Jingmo and Guan Yiwei's close relationship, observing how they seemed to bicker yet still enjoy each other's company, similar to how she interacted with her own brother. She also gently probed why Han Jingmo's parents hadn't attended Grandpa's birthday.
Han Jingmo then revealed that his parents had divorced when he was very young, his father had remarried, and he had been raised by his grandpa. He described his mother as a stranger with whom he had never had contact. He shared that five years prior, he had sought her out, but his appearance had frightened her, as she had since formed a new family and feared his presence would disrupt her current life.
Though he stated these were past events, the underlying pain was evident. The next morning, Grandpa warmly sent off Han Jingmo and Lu Wanwan, reminding Lu Wanwan that his home was always open to her. Concurrently, Gu Qiaobei, still feeling a debt to Lu Guanghan, meticulously prepared a meal, focusing on ribs. Despite his efforts, he remained unsatisfied with the taste after several attempts, and his continuous tasting even led him to receive an IV drip in the hospital.
Nevertheless, he decided to send a bento to Lu Guanghan, reasoning that since Lu Guanghan had enjoyed his cooking previously, the ribs should be acceptable. Lu Guanghan, surprised that Gu Qiaobei had taken his joke seriously, sampled one piece of the ribs, declaring it "delicious" and "Michelin-like." Shortly after, both Gu Qiaobei and Lu Guanghan found themselves receiving IV drips in the hospital, clearly suffering from food poisoning from Gu Qiaobei's cooking.
Later, in the car, Lu Wanwan drifted to sleep and had a vivid dream. She envisioned herself walking on a beach in a flowing floral dress when Han Jingmo appeared, looking ethereal in white. She ran towards him, exclaiming how handsome he was. He then asked her to marry him, to which she enthusiastically agreed. Just as he leaned in to kiss her, she was abruptly woken up by Han Jingmo, who asked if she had slept enough.
Embarrassed to find herself drooling, Lu Wanwan realized she had been dreaming of him. She silently admonished herself, resolving that such embarrassing dreams, especially after cuddling with him the previous night, must not happen again and that he must never know about it.
Episode 10 Recap
Lu Wanwan finds herself incredibly embarrassed after a vivid dream about Han Jingmo, which included her cooking for him. This dream leaves her flustered whenever she's near him. During filming, a close-up scene with Han Jingmo causes her heart to pound, bringing the dream's sensations rushing back. Distracted by his proximity, she misremembers her lines and blurted out "Seven times seven is 69," leading to multiple retakes.
This mortifying experience makes her want to disappear, and she blames Han Jingmo for distracting her. Later that night, walking alone on the beach, Lu Wanwan is still consumed by the day's embarrassing events. Suddenly, two drunk men accost and grab her. She cries out for help, and Han Jingmo swiftly appears, subduing the men and rescuing her. Overcome with relief and gratitude, Lu Wanwan embraces him.
Han Jingmo, sensing her distress, reassures her that she is safe and everything is alright. He then escorts her back to her room. From just outside her door, he messages her, offering to stay if she needs companionship, and even sends a funny picture to lighten her mood, which helps her relax. Han Jingmo then teases her, asking if she thought he was handsome during the confrontation, to which she admits he was indeed very attractive.
In the game, Lu Wanwan, playing as Chu He, and Han Jingmo, playing as Between Ink White, embark on a Couple Mission. Despite Chu He finding it overly complicated, Between Ink White emphasizes the importance of "a sense of ritual." Upon successfully completing the mission, they proceed to choose a residence, settling on a small courtyard that Between Ink White reveals is a replica of the wedding ceremony venue of Bai Yujing and Yuan Zixia, a legendary in-game couple.
Impressed by Chu He's choice, Between Ink White offers to take care of the entire "Side by Side" wedding package as a reward for Chu He's efforts in increasing their friendship level. When Chu He offers to contribute, Between Ink White suggests a different form of reward: she should change her appellation for him, noting that he already calls her "My Wife."
The engagement ceremony begins, with Between Ink White announcing his generous purchase of the "Side by Side" wedding package. As their tokens, Chu He presents a handmade calligraphy sachet, self-deprecatingly remarking on its appearance, but Between Ink White warmly accepts it, praising her penmanship. In return, he gives her the valuable Sentiments: Skystar earrings.
Chu He realizes that his previous extensive efforts to acquire the Pass of Between Xing Yuan and repeatedly explore the Skystar Underground Palace were all for this precious gift. Between Ink White clarifies that his actions were driven by his feelings for her. Moved, Chu He expresses her deep appreciation, though she playfully asks if he acquired them with money obtained at a high interest rate.
As a return gift, Chu He also played a beautiful melody for Between Ink White. Following the exchange, a World Announcement is broadcast, celebrating Between Ink White and Chu He's engagement and their completion of the Love as One Heart Mission. It further declares that their grand wedding ceremony will take place at 9 p. m. on the 21st of the current month, inviting all martial artists to witness the occasion.
However, the celebratory mood is interrupted by a World Announcement from Time Flies Flower Blooms, who challenges Chu He to a duel in the Sword Tournament Field a month later. The terms are stark: the loser must quit the game. Chu He's disciple immediately embraces her leg, fearful of being left without protection if her master loses. Chu He scolds her disciple and kicks her away, asserting her confidence and stating she is not afraid.
She firmly believes she will not lose, especially with Between Ink White's promised assistance. Between Ink White then tells her to practice with him for two hours every day. After exiting the game, Han Jingmo reveals to Gu Qiaobei that Lu Wanwan is indeed Chu He. Gu Qiaobei is taken aback by this information, realizing Han Jingmo's feelings for Lu Wanwan.
He urges Han Jingmo to confess openly and pursue her, cautioning that keeping it a secret could lead to issues. However, Han Jingmo remains unperturbed, asserting that everything is under his control and that the time is not yet right to tell her. Lu Guanghan, the boss of Ying Ge, personally offers Lu Wanwan a contract. Lu Wanwan initially expresses apprehension, fearing it might be a result of favoritism because of their familial relationship.
Lu Guanghan clarifies that he is not one to appoint people by favoritism; he has consulted with Director Zheng, who gave Lu Wanwan high praise for her recent efforts and progress as a newcomer. Lu Wanwan then sets a condition: she wants to choose her own roles and scripts, insisting on building her career steadily through her own hard work, and outright refusing any "resource feeding" from her brother.
Lu Guanghan respects her resolve to challenge herself and agrees to her terms. Soon after, Lu Guanghan and Lu Wanwan publicly sign the contract before the media. Li Weiqian is informed by her agent that the investors for three of her upcoming dramas have developed a strong interest in Lu Wanwan, potentially altering Li Weiqian's own film contracts. Subsequently, Li Weiqian offers a sum of money to her assistant, whose mother is unwell.
Despite initial hesitation, the assistant accepts the money, agreeing to Li Weiqian's implied task related to this competition. Li Weiqian approaches Lu Wanwan, subtly delivering veiled insults about arrogant newcomers who are two-faced and have disorderly private lives. Unaware that Li Weiqian's remarks are directed at her, Lu Wanwan innocently agrees with her. Overhearing this, Han Jingmo intervenes, praising Lu Wanwan's consistent beauty and implying she doesn't need makeup touch-ups. His compliments infuriate Li Weiqian, who storms off.
Once Li Weiqian is gone, Han Jingmo playfully teases Lu Wanwan, remarking that her intelligence unfortunately doesn't quite match her striking appearance. Determined to undermine Lu Wanwan, Li Weiqian intentionally provokes her. She then deliberately falls to the ground, loudly claiming that Lu Wanwan pushed her, creating a scene to make onlookers believe Lu Wanwan was responsible. Incensed by the false accusation, Lu Wanwan attempts to physically retaliate but is held back.
Li Weiqian then lunges forward to strike Lu Wanwan, but she is swiftly restrained by a tall, handsome man who warns her to not go too far. Lu Wanwan is visibly thrilled at the sight of the man, addressing him warmly as "Jinghang." Their affectionate reunion immediately triggers jealousy in Han Jingmo, who internally laments not having confessed his feelings to Lu Wanwan earlier. Han Jingmo confronts the newcomer, questioning his identity.
Zhao Jinghang then introduces himself as Lu Wanwan's personal bodyguard, assigned by Ying Ge, and humorously adds that he is also the President of Lu Wanwan's Global Fan Club, emphasizing his role as her round-the-clock protector. Han Jingmo expresses surprise at Ying Ge offering such a service, to which Zhao Jinghang retorts that Han Jingmo is simply "not in the high position" to be aware of it, suggesting he consult Lu Guanghan if he has doubts. Han Jingmo attempts to lead Lu Wanwan away, but Zhao Jinghang deftly stops him.
Episode 11 Recap
After their scene wrapped, Zhao Jinghang, who had just introduced himself as Lu Wanwan's personal bodyguard, pulled her aside, insisting on driving her home and declaring it his duty to protect his "goddess." As they left the intense atmosphere, Lu Wanwan teased Zhao Jinghang, asking if his sudden return was to escape overseas debts. Zhao Jinghang, impressed by her "brain circuit," did not explain but instead demanded she treat him to a welcome dinner, even suggesting Lu Guanghan join them.
Lu Wanwan declined for that day, citing important scenes she needed to prepare for and suggesting the dinner take place the next day to allow Zhao Jinghang to adjust to the time difference. He agreed. Lu Wanwan then pretended to go home but secretly slipped out, only to be discovered by Zhao Jinghang. Meanwhile, Lu Guanghan was informed of Lu Wanwan's fight with Li Weiqian. He immediately ordered his Public Relations Department to block the news and manage public opinion.
He then received a call from Zhao Jinghang, who confirmed he was already handling the situation and had everything under control, much to Lu Guanghan's relief. Zhao Jinghang, having discovered Lu Wanwan's location at Han Jingmo's place, observed their interaction from upstairs. Lu Wanwan, for her part, brought Han Jingmo his favorite zero-sugar, low-calorie vanilla ice cream, sensing he was unhappy after the earlier incident.
She clarified to Han Jingmo that Zhao Jinghang, who had watched her grow up, was like a brother to her and not an ex-boyfriend, dispelling his apparent concern. Their playful struggle over the ice cream was observed by Zhao Jinghang from upstairs. Later, Lu Wanwan spoke with Little Leaf, confessing she had indeed hit Li Weiqian and worried about causing trouble for Lu Guanghan.
Little Leaf acknowledged that Lu Wanwan wouldn't act without reason but cautioned her to be more careful as a public figure, suggesting wiser ways to handle conflict. Feeling frustrated by both real-life problems and online drama, Lu Wanwan turned to her game, Moonlight Blade, to practice with Han Jingmo.
During their session, Han Jingmo, under his game ID "Strong Wind and Heavy Rain," asked "Chu He" if she had been pursued in real life or had anyone she liked, including male celebrities. Unsatisfied with her answers and perhaps a bit frustrated, he swiftly defeated her in the game. Lu Guanghan also called Lu Wanwan, teasing her about being "crippled" and shouldn't "hurt other great young men," making her annoyed.
He also mentioned he heard she hit Li Weiqian because Li Weiqian claimed Lu Wanwan was Lu Guanghan's sponsor. Zhao Jinghang and Lu Guanghan met for drinks. Lu Guanghan expressed his understanding of Lu Wanwan's character, asserting she must have had her reasons for the fight, and he only cared that she wouldn't get hurt. Zhao Jinghang, however, provocatively suggested making Lu Wanwan "disappear" from the show, a notion Lu Guanghan quickly dismissed due to the significant investment.
Lu Guanghan then playfully accused Zhao Jinghang of having been interested in Lu Wanwan since school, questioning why he hadn't pursued her. Lu Guanghan declared he wouldn't mind being Zhao Jinghang's brother-in-law. Zhao Jinghang reiterated that his feelings for Lu Wanwan were purely fraternal, like an older brother to a younger sibling. They also discussed Zhao Jinghang's uncertain travel plans and Lu Guanghan's thriving business.
Following his conversation with Zhao Jinghang, Lu Guanghan received a call from Gu Qiaobei, who invited him to lunch the next day. Lu Guanghan, visibly surprised by the call, enthusiastically accepted. At lunch, Gu Qiaobei warmly welcomed Lu Guanghan and subtly probed whether Ying Ge was facing any difficulties, specifically asking why Lu Wanwan was assigned a bodyguard. Lu Guanghan confirmed it was Zhao Jinghang and that they had known each other for a long time.
Gu Qiaobei then asked if Zhao Jinghang was Lu Wanwan's suitor, to which Lu Guanghan replied he didn't know, hinting that if they were meant to be, they would have already gotten together. Gu Qiaobei suggested arranging a gathering for everyone to formally meet, even offering to cook. Lu Guanghan quickly objected, citing the upcoming important filming schedule and, with a chuckle, quipped that Gu Qiaobei should only "hurt me alone" with his cooking, implying his culinary skills were dangerous.
Gu Qiaobei quickly agreed to focus on filming. Later, Li Weiqian approached Lu Wanwan as if nothing had happened, apologizing for her previous behavior and expressing concern about the news of their fight being leaked. Lu Wanwan, sensing an opportunity, feigned weakness and blamed it on a poor diet, making it appear she was about to faint. This quickly sent Li Weiqian scurrying away with an excuse to read her script, much to Lu Wanwan's amusement.
Shortly after, Lu Wanwan's assistant informed her that Zhao Jinghang had arrived at the set with an elaborate Japanese feast for the entire crew, a grand gesture. However, Lu Wanwan's assistant announced it was from "Teacher Lu Wanwan," creating a subtle misattribution that astonished everyone. During a break in filming, Lu Wanwan expressed her delight at having such strong "support" and joked that Zhao Jinghang's methods of winning favor were clichéd. Han Jingmo, upon hearing this, decided to outdo him.
He arranged for the city's most renowned Japanese buffet to be brought to the set for everyone, and also surprised Lu Wanwan with a violinist. He intentionally attributed the buffet to Lu Wanwan, creating a subtle competition between himself and Zhao Jinghang. He also made sure a special meal was prepared for Lu Wanwan specifically at his request. Amidst the meal, Lu Wanwan reached for a piece of grilled meat, but Zhao Jinghang snatched it away.
Han Jingmo then provided Lu Wanwan with more grilled meat, reminding her to eat well for the upcoming scenes. An assistant secretly informed Lu Wanwan's assistant that Zhao Jinghang was a "strong competitor" with a mysterious identity. Later, while Lu Wanwan was tidying up, Zhao Jinghang attempted to help her with her messy hair which was caught by her necklace.
Seeing this, a seemingly jealous Han Jingmo took over, gently arranging Lu Wanwan's hair, a tender moment that brought a sweet smile to Lu Wanwan's face. Zhao Jinghang, observing their interaction, watched with an unreadable expression. Zhao Jinghang then invited Lu Wanwan to dinner, reminding her of her promise to treat him.
Lu Wanwan accepted, and he drove her to a secluded restaurant known for its privacy, which notably lacked Wi-Fi or phone signal, emphasizing a break from their digital lives. He also mentioned that Lu Guanghan was currently "cleaning up her mess." Meanwhile, in the game, Han Jingmo (Strong Wind and Heavy Rain) was anxiously awaiting "Chu He" (Lu Wanwan's game ID) for their scheduled wedding ceremony, warning that the live stream would only last ten minutes.
Trapped at the restaurant with no signal, Lu Wanwan frantically called Lu Guanghan, begging him to log into her account and stand in for her, fearing Han Jingmo's humiliation. Lu Guanghan, busy in real life, reluctantly agreed. However, when "Top Star of Lu" (Lu Guanghan's game ID) appeared on Lu Wanwan's account, stating he was there to fulfill the ceremony, Han Jingmo refused the substitute, insisting he would wait for the real "Chu He."
Annoyed, Lu Guanghan left the game, leaving Han Jingmo to face the online crowd alone, who wondered if "Chu He" had truly stood him up and how it would affect their plans for a "bride-snatching game."
Episode 12 Recap
Lu Wanwan finally found a strong signal and logged into the game, where she and Han Jingmo, appearing as their in-game characters Between Ink White and Chu He, held their wedding. Amidst much fanfare, they exchanged vows and wore their new wedding attire. Gu Qiaobei presided over the ceremony as the in-game emcee, leading the couple through their vows, which included some unusual questions about their appearance and intelligence. Under pressure from the crowd, Han Jingmo kissed his new bride.
After the wedding, the system required them to stay in the virtual nuptial chamber for five minutes. Han Jingmo, who had meticulously decorated the virtual room for Lu Wanwan, even recorded the screen so she could rewatch their wedding anytime. However, the two felt awkward just sitting by the bed, struggling to find conversation.
Just as Lu Wanwan stretched to adjust her skirt, she startlingly realized she was in a real-world men's restroom, having unconsciously wandered there while seeking a good network signal. Zhao Jinghang then entered, causing Lu Wanwan to instantly sober up, realize her embarrassing predicament, and flee. Meanwhile, a video showing Li Weiqian faking a fall during an argument with Lu Wanwan backstage was exposed online.
The footage clearly showed Li Weiqian collapsing without Lu Wanwan touching her, effectively clearing Lu Wanwan's name. It was revealed that Han Jingmo had secretly placed a small recording device, capturing the entire incident. Later, Li Weiqian sought out Lu Wanwan, confessing her jealousy and admitting she had indeed faked the fall. She tearfully begged Lu Wanwan for help, hoping she wouldn't be removed from the crew and asking her to issue a clarification to salvage her reputation.
Lu Wanwan, feeling she had no power to influence the decision, refused. Still wondering who was behind the video, Lu Wanwan later overheard Lu Guanghan on the phone discussing the matter and excitedly embraced him, assuming he was her benefactor. Lu Guanghan, however, denied any involvement, finding his sister quite naive for not guessing the true helper, which he subtly indicated with a "caring for an idiot" look.
On the set of "Big Dunk," a basketball nearly hit Lu Wanwan, but Zhao Jinghang skillfully intercepted it, executing a perfect dunk. Director Zheng was so impressed that he praised Zhao Jinghang, remarking that being a mere bodyguard was a waste of his talent, and offered him a role in the film. Lu Wanwan was delighted for Zhao Jinghang, but Han Jingmo, witnessing her excitement, became visibly displeased, leading to another spat between them.
Lu Wanwan's assistant later confirmed that it was Han Jingmo who had released the video online. Grateful, Lu Wanwan approached Lu Guanghan, asking him to arrange a film project for Han Jingmo so he could win a Best Actor award as a form of thanks. Lu Guanghan, however, warned her not to make rash promises simply out of gratitude.
Lu Wanwan then tried to apologize to Han Jingmo herself, but her awkward attempts led to a misunderstanding where he thought she was calling him "sick," further escalating his anger. She later made a more formal attempt to apologize and express her gratitude, but a delivery of gifts from fans interrupted her. Finally, she approached him again, offering to do anything he asked to repay him, with the sole exception of "anything against ethics."
Han Jingmo, with a smile, playfully challenged her to specify how she would repay him, to which Lu Wanwan, taken aback by his seriousness, retorted by criticizing his poor character. Later, Han Jingmo found Lu Wanwan eating and clarified that Zhao Jinghang had also played a part in helping with the video. He then hinted at his feelings for her, but Lu Wanwan firmly rejected him, citing his unpleasant, manipulative, and hypocritical personality.
Just then, Zhao Jinghang arrived to pick up Lu Wanwan, abruptly cutting off Han Jingmo mid-sentence as he drove away, leaving Han Jingmo standing awkwardly. Meanwhile, Mr. Mu, Gu Qiaobei's representative, and Lu Guanghan held a separate discussion regarding Gu Qiaobei's contract for "Big Dunk." Mr. Mu initially demanded a 50% increase in Gu Qiaobei's pay, citing a concern that the lead female role's reduced status following Li Weiqian's departure would diminish Gu Qiaobei's stature.
Lu Guanghan, acknowledging Gu Qiaobei's significant commercial value to the project, conceded to this demand. However, Gu Qiaobei unexpectedly joined the meeting, announcing his decision to withdraw from the production due to the perceived downgrade of the female lead's role and a conflict with his upcoming variety show schedule. Despite Mr. Mu's attempts to persuade him to stay, Gu Qiaobei remained resolute. Lu Guanghan, pragmatic about the situation, reaffirmed that Gu Qiaobei's agreed-upon remuneration would be maintained, ensuring he stayed on board.
Episode 13 Recap
Lu Wanwan expressed her gratitude to Zhao Jinghang for his help, noting his "pragmatic" style as a bodyguard who does good deeds without seeking credit. She asked how she could thank him, to which he replied that since she treated Han Jingmo to wontons, she should treat him to a good meal. Zhao Jinghang suggested Shaxian Delicacies, promising she could eat until she was stuffed.
Later, Lin Wei insisted on assigning an assistant to Lu Wanwan, specifically Han Jingmo's current assistant, Song Chi. Lu Wanwan protested, stating she already had Zhao Jinghang as a bodyguard and that Song Chi was busy with Han Jingmo. Lin Wei countered that Zhao Jinghang was unpredictable and the company was short-staffed, so Song Chi would assist her temporarily until a new hire could be found.
Lu Wanwan reluctantly agreed, hoping that after filming wrapped, she would no longer need to be near Han Jingmo. Disturbed by recent interactions with Han Jingmo, Lu Wanwan sought advice from her brother, Lu Guanghan, by presenting her dilemma as a hypothetical situation involving "friend A" and "friend B." She explained that "friend B" wanted a romantic relationship with "friend A," but "friend A" was resistant and distressed. Lu Guanghan quickly deduced that Lu Wanwan was talking about herself.
He advised her to tell "friend B" to think carefully, reminding her that "friend A" (meaning Lu Wanwan) had high standards due to growing up admiring someone like Tao Yichen. He then directly warned "friend B" to focus on his acting and "not mess around." Later that night, Han Jingmo abruptly texted Lu Wanwan, repeatedly telling her to answer the phone before revealing he was waiting downstairs at her home.
He insisted he had something to tell her in person and even offered to come upstairs. Panic-stricken, Lu Wanwan replied that she had social phobia and would only communicate via text, demanding to know how he found her address. She pleaded with him to leave, firmly stating her intentions were clear and would not waver for a hundred years. She urged him to go home due to the cold night.
After a period of anxious waiting, Lu Wanwan felt immense relief when Han Jingmo finally stopped messaging, though she worried about the awkwardness of facing him on set the next day. Meanwhile, Miss Guan visited Lu Guanghan to recommend a new artist named Yan Shengkai, praising her beauty, kindness, and acting skills.
Miss Guan presented Yan Shengkai's information and audition clips, emphasizing that it would be a loss for Lu Guanghan's company not to sign her, and hoped he would give her more opportunities. On set, Lu Wanwan, after a successful day of shooting, found herself looking for Han Jingmo.
She asked Gu Qiaobei about his whereabouts, learning that Han Jingmo had a fever and was getting an IV drip at the hospital, but still had an Orange Video live stream scheduled for that afternoon. Gu Qiaobei noted that Han Jingmo had asked Director Zheng for sick leave and would go back to the hospital after the live stream. Despite initially claiming she was too busy with filming, Lu Wanwan grudgingly agreed to watch the live stream with Gu Qiaobei.
During the broadcast for "Peach Blossom Fan," Han Jingmo, looking unwell, participated in a quick-quiz segment, though Gu Qiaobei expressed amusement at his condition. With the filming of "Big Dunk" temporarily halted due to the female lead change and Han Jingmo's illness, Director Zheng instructed Lu Wanwan and Gu Qiaobei to visit him on behalf of the crew. They were to check on his health, emphasize its importance, and tell him to rest.
Lu Wanwan suggested buying food, but Gu Qiaobei insisted on cooking. Despite his offer, they ended up bringing him outside food. Upon arriving at Han Jingmo's place, they found him looking more normal, leading Lu Wanwan to believe he had forgotten their awkward exchange from the previous night. Han Jingmo, however, refused to eat, stating he couldn't eat after 5 PM, even when sick.
Gu Qiaobei and Lu Wanwan decided to eat the food they brought, while Han Jingmo went to sleep. While Gu Qiaobei stepped out to retrieve a delivery, Lu Wanwan attempted to leave, but found the door stuck. She texted Han Jingmo for help, who, upon realizing she was still there, asked her to exit the room first so he could open the door. He then teased her, questioning if she was just making an excuse to stay.
Lu Wanwan vehemently denied it, swearing the door was genuinely stuck. She bid him to rest and promised to visit again when he was better on behalf of the crew, but Han Jingmo humorously warned that if she came again, the door would "get stuck" once more. Days later, Lu Wanwan returned to the game as "Top Lady." Her guildmate Chu He remarked on her absence and her character's sudden popularity, mentioning a new player wanted to meet "Top Lady."
Lu Wanwan also spoke with Gu Qiaobei, who noted that "Genius" (Lu Guanghan's in-game character) had been busy offline. Later, Lu Wanwan encountered "Between Ink White" in the game and, addressing him as "Genius," inquired why he was online so late and if he was ill. " Between Ink White" confirmed he had a live stream scheduled in three days, by official invitation, but stated he wouldn't show his face.
Lu Wanwan, recalling that "Genius" usually refused such invitations, pressed him on why he accepted this time, to which he vaguely replied it was part of a "deal." She expressed intense curiosity about the mysterious "Between Ink White" and declared her confidence in recognizing him by voice alone.
Three days later, as the live stream began, Lu Wanwan, who was watching with Han Jingmo in mind, mentally threatened to "chop him off" if he turned out to be "Between Ink White." The streamer introduced himself as "Between Ink White." However, Lu Wanwan was surprised when the voice did not sound like Han Jingmo's, indicating a voice changer was in use.
She watched as Between Ink White engaged in a fierce one-on-one sword tournament, battling for over twenty rounds to maintain a viewer count of 300,000. Lu Guanghan, also watching, expressed jealousy, commenting that Between Ink White only knew how to show off and vowing to "kill him" the next time they met in-game.
After the live stream, Han Jingmo presented Chu He with a gift package containing a limited-edition costume, materials, and items, explaining that accepting the live stream invitation, which required 300,000 viewers, was his way of obtaining this reward. Deeply touched by this gesture, Lu Wanwan promised to give him daily shoulder and leg massages for the next month.
She then showered Chu He with overly sweet and effusive compliments, prompting Between Ink White to "kill" Chu He’s in-game character out of apparent jealousy. Shortly after, Lu Wanwan received an urgent notification for an out-of-town variety show shoot, made possible by the "Big Dunk" female lead replacement. At the airport, she was relieved to see Han Jingmo acting completely normal, leading her to believe he had forgotten their previous awkward encounter.
During dinner, Lu Wanwan, despite being hungry, was reminded by Han Jingmo about maintaining a female celebrity's figure, as he and another male actor were on a diet for upcoming shirtless basketball scenes. Lu Wanwan feigned going for a run but secretly indulged in a large barbecue meal. Back in her room, Lu Wanwan began experiencing bizarre phenomena on her phone, seeing images of colorful jellyfish and jumping rabbits.
Her hallucinations escalated when she perceived small, cute zombies appearing in the corridor, "biting" her legs. Terrified, she collapsed onto the floor, screaming and pleading for them to stop. Han Jingmo, witnessing her intense distress and realizing something was seriously wrong, immediately called for a car to take her to the hospital.
Episode 14 Recap
Lu Wanwan, delirious, called out for both zombies and Han Jingmo, even attempting to bite the doctor and Han Jingmo, while fearing being eaten herself. She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed she had mushroom poisoning, which, though not severe, caused dizziness, nausea, and hallucinations, with severe cases potentially endangering life. Han Jingmo stayed by her side, holding her hand until she fell asleep, and then called Guan Yiwei to arrange for her half-day leave from the crew.
As Lu Wanwan slowly regained consciousness, she still felt dizzy and disoriented, recounting how she protected Han Jingmo from the "zombies" because of his good looks. Back at the hotel, Lu Wanwan feigned sleep in the car, but Han Jingmo, seeing through her act, playfully offered to carry her inside, prompting her to pretend to wake up and step out.
Upon her return, Lu Guanghan scolded her, criticizing her lack of self-awareness as an actress, her love for food, and her careless eating habits that led to the poisoning. He highlighted Yan Shengkai, the new female lead of "Big Dunk", who was strongly recommended by Guan Yiwei, performed excellently in her audition, and impressed the director with her good figure, beauty, and professional attitude. He urged Lu Wanwan to adopt a proactive approach and stop taking chances.
Shortly after, Director Zheng formally introduced Yan Shengkai to the crew, who expressed her commitment to working hard. Zhao Jinghang, having heard of Lu Wanwan's mushroom poisoning, mockingly prepared a meal consisting entirely of mushroom dishes, from stewed chicken with mushrooms to stir-fried eggs with mushrooms. He claimed to be the only one who cared for her and insisted she try his "Lu Wanwan High Couture Lunch."
As they bickered, Guan Yiwei observed them, then after asking Han Jingmo about Zhao Jinghang's background, she directly approached Zhao Jinghang, declared he was now "hers," and proposed they each pursue their own interests, leaving Han Jingmo free to pursue Lu Wanwan. Han Jingmo tacitly agreed. Later, Song Chi questioned Zhao Jinghang about his single status at his age, before asking Lu Wanwan about a box beside her.
Lu Wanwan explained it was a "wrap party gift" from her older brother, Lu Guanghan, for Gu Qiaobei’s wrap party. When it was time to present gifts to Gu Qiaobei, Lu Wanwan, as his fan, gave him her personal present: a global limited edition item. Gu Qiaobei, overwhelmed by its value, hesitated to accept it, questioning if she harbored feelings for him beyond friendship.
Lu Wanwan quickly clarified they were merely friends, but Gu Qiaobei continued to refuse due to the gift’s cost. Zhao Jinghang then subtly led a flustered Lu Wanwan away. Back in her room, Lu Wanwan angrily confronted Lu Guanghan, blaming him for the embarrassing misunderstanding with Gu Qiaobei. Lu Guanghan, however, remained unconcerned, suggesting she let Gu Qiaobei think the gift was from her, as he would surely return it if he knew it came from him.
The next day, at "Big Dunk"'s promotional event, Han Jingmo subtly observed Lu Wanwan interacting with Zhao Jinghang, showing a hint of jealousy. Guan Yiwei later approached Yan Shengkai, inquiring about her adaptation to the crew, and then teased Lu Wanwan about her love for meat, jokingly applying "Einstein's theory of relativity" to her eating habits, claiming if she ate fast enough, her weight would decrease.
That evening, during a crew gathering, Guan Yiwei, feigning drunkenness, clung to Zhao Jinghang and ominously warned him that if he didn't take her home, she would reveal "what happened that night." Under this implicit threat, Zhao Jinghang reluctantly agreed to take her away. Lu Wanwan, witnessing their departure, secretly smiled, then Han Jingmo offered to take Lu Wanwan back to her room.
As they walked away, Guan Yiwei, still with Zhao Jinghang, clarified she was seriously interested in him, questioning why he was a bodyguard and offering him a birthday gift, saying she already bought an expensive watch for someone else as a proxy. Lu Wanwan later pondered, her mind preoccupied with that handsome face. Determined to excel in her upcoming battle against Time Flies Flower Blooms, Lu Wanwan logged into the game world to practice.
There, she re-encountered Ink White, who, noticing her virtual financial struggles, offered her two million in game currency. Lu Wanwan, however, was irritated by his seriousness, reminding him that the game was merely a string of data and not reality. She threatened to issue a public announcement ending their in-game "marriage" if he continued to treat their virtual relationship so earnestly.
Ink White warned her of severe consequences if she dared to do so, insisting his dedication as a "husband" to "his wife" was genuine. Lu Wanwan, realizing he was too immersed, worried about future complications if he took the game too seriously, and internally questioned if her behavior made her seem like a "scumbag." Later, Lu Wanwan decided to buy a birthday gift for Han Jingmo, feeling it was proper to reciprocate his past kindness.
While discussing shoe options with Song Chi, she revealed her intention was to thank him. On the day of Han Jingmo's birthday celebration at the shooting site, Lu Wanwan considered giving him her gift privately to avoid drawing attention. However, during the official celebration, Yan Shengkai arrived with a spectacular multi-tiered cake, which she claimed to have baked herself, instantly captivating everyone's attention and cameras.
As Yan Shengkai presented another gift, Lu Wanwan realized it was identical to the one she had purchased for Han Jingmo. Feeling overshadowed and embarrassed, she quietly tucked her gift away, offering only a verbal "Happy Birthday." Han Jingmo, noticing her empty-handed well-wishes after she had earlier implied a gift, became visibly displeased and sternly told her not to promise things she couldn't deliver.
Episode 15 Recap
Feeling disappointed that her carefully chosen birthday gift for Han Jingmo remained ungiven, Lu Wanwan noticed the flurry of online birthday wishes for him. As soon as she posted her own, she was criticized by others for taking advantage of his popularity and acting as if she knew him well, with one person pointing out her post was merely a repost of Gu Qiaobei's, lacking sincerity.
Ignoring the negativity, Lu Wanwan decided to watch Han Jingmo's live stream, remembering it was his birthday. The live stream was revealed to be a charity event, with the reward function turned off, allowing only well wishes. This was Han Jingmo's sole condition for participating, making it a more meaningful occasion. He also stated that it was his first time celebrating his birthday, or perhaps even his first time celebrating any birthday.
During the stream, Han Jingmo shared a moving story about filming in Daliang Mountain, where children faced treacherous journeys over mountains for hours just to attend school, enduring harsh conditions and extreme temperature differences. His heartfelt account prompted fans to donate, and screenshots of donations poured into the chat.
When "Luxury Flower" and "Time Flies Flower Blooms" generously donated, Lu Wanwan felt a surge of irritation that "Time Flies Flower Blooms" was trying to outdo her even in charitable giving, vowing not to lose to her. Han Jingmo, however, interrupted the stream to halt the competitive donations, emphasizing that charity should stem from genuine sincerity, not meaningless comparisons or emotional display.
He urged his fans to adopt healthy consumption habits and not be misguided by the actions of "Time Flies Flower Blooms" and "Luxury Flower." Lu Wanwan felt a pang of indignation, realizing her two years' worth of lucky money spent to support him had resulted in her being labeled a bad example. Despite this, she acknowledged his handsome face and contemplated apologizing to him.
She then realized he wouldn't know it was her who had donated, making her feel as though her effort was for nothing. Determined, she decided to seek him out after taking a shower. As Lu Wanwan prepared to approach Han Jingmo's room, she overheard a staff member mentioning that the CCTV on the ninth floor was broken, which made her hesitate. Just as she contemplated delaying her visit, Han Jingmo suddenly appeared behind her.
She presented him with her birthday gift, explaining that she had prepared it long ago but felt awkward presenting it after Yan Shengkai had given him the same item. Han Jingmo, however, dismissed her concerns, saying she was different from Yan Shengkai. When pressed for clarification, he playfully remarked that she wasn't as tall as Yan Shengkai, which she immediately told him to shut up about.
Han Jingmo then expressed sympathy for her, noting how upset she looked, to which Lu Wanwan comically claimed she was so distressed she needed a quick heart-saving pill. He questioned why she cared so much about his feelings, and Lu Wanwan, flustered, nearly confessed her affection before quickly covering it up by claiming she was simply responding to the crew's call for unity. She then urged him to rest, given his busy day of filming, live streaming, and celebrating.
Han Jingmo, however, spotted Zhao Jingxing returning nearby. He then quickly pushed Lu Wanwan into his room. Once inside his room, Han Jingmo asked Lu Wanwan if she was happy now that she had given him the gift and they had shared cake. She jokingly suggested he look in a mirror to see his own "handsome but sad face."
He then brought up a previous interview where he stated his first kiss was still intact, revealing it was a lie, a trick by the host. Lu Wanwan immediately questioned the kiss they shared at her house, but Han Jingmo dismissed it as a misunderstanding. She challenged him, asking how many "misunderstandings" he had. She also called him out for claiming on his live stream that he had never celebrated his birthday, effectively deceiving his fans.
Han Jingmo defended himself, insisting he genuinely hadn't celebrated a birthday since his debut. Lu Wanwan confirmed this, revealing she knew everything about him because she "was" his die-hard fan, a past tense that surprised him. To lighten the mood, she fed him some cake, and in the process, accidentally smeared it on his face. As she reached to wipe it off, Han Jingmo leaned in close, startling her.
Her heart pounded as she registered his intense gaze, convinced he harbored feelings for her. Overwhelmed, she quickly pushed him away and retreated to her own room, replaying the moment in her mind. That night, Lu Wanwan dreamt she was Snow White, who, upon encountering the slumbering Prince Han Jingmo, awoke him with a kiss, leading to a joyful, hand-in-hand dance.
She awoke in the morning, feeling embarrassed by the vivid dream, wondering if she had truly been "seduced" or was having "evil thoughts" about Han Jingmo, chastising herself with the idiom "indulging on your lust is equivalent to hang a knife upon your head." As she stepped out, she encountered Han Jingmo, who quickly cornered her against a wall, asking why she was avoiding him.
Lu Wanwan, feigning indifference, claimed she was merely packing to go home since she had no filming for the next two days, criticizing his "inappropriate" behavior of pulling her. Han Jingmo reminded her he used to hold her like that, prompting her to retort that things were different now. He pressed her on what had changed, but she evaded the question, claiming someone was "after her" as she rushed away.
Outside the hotel, her agent, Song Chi, was waiting with a packed schedule: reshoots with Han Jingmo and Yan Shengkai, media visits, and more. Lu Wanwan suddenly realized it was the eleventh, the date for her crucial duel, and urgently rushed off, stating it was an important fight to the death. She inwardly declared her resolve to practice diligently for her showdown with Time Flies Flower Blooms.
Back in the game, Lu Wanwan, as Chu He, began practicing for the impending duel. Ink White, observing her, noted her insufficient skill connection, weak attacks, and slow hand speed, suggesting they undertake "Couple Missions" to improve her agility. Lu Wanwan, feeling cared for by Ink White in-game, felt a pang of guilt, especially given her real-life feelings for Han Jingmo. Driven by this, she decided to approach Ink White and propose ending their in-game couple status.
She explained that they had initially formed the couple only to experience the "Love as One Heart" system, and that while she was single when they first became a couple, she now had someone she liked, though they weren't together yet. She offered compensation, including returning limited edition in-game clothing. Ink White, surprisingly, seemed to accept her confession, stating he would break up with her if she got together with her liked person, internally noting her loyalty.
When Ink White paused, Lu Wanwan speculated his internet was stuck, surprised he didn't attack her in frustration. Soon after, another player joined the conversation, criticizing celebrities like Han Jingmo for constantly hyping themselves. Lu Wanwan immediately jumped to Han Jingmo's defense, asserting he was a "top idol" and dismissing any rumors as false.
When the player called her a "crazy fan," she proudly admitted it, vowing to rally an army of spammers to crush anyone who dared to smear Han Jingmo, vehemently telling the player to stop speaking ill of her idol. The day of the final duel arrived, pitting Chu He (Lu Wanwan) against Time Flies Flower Blooms, with the agreement that the loser would quit Moonlight Blade. Time Flies Flower Blooms arrived with her supporters.
Before the actual fight, Ink White, Gu Qiaobei, and another ally put on an impressive sword dance display, leaving Lu Wanwan in awe and wondering if they had practiced just for her. Time Flies Flower Blooms tried to provoke Chu He, suggesting she should just admit defeat or confess her desire to leave Ink White. But Chu He was steadfast, supported by Gu Qiaobei, who openly declared his unwavering support.
Another player revealed that Gu Qiaobei had even wagered 1,000 yuan on Chu He's victory. The duel then began in earnest. Chu He emerged victorious, leaving Time Flies Flower Blooms to uphold her promise. Despite the clear terms, some players began blaming Chu He for forcing Time Flies Flower Blooms out of the game. Ink White quickly intervened, reminding everyone that Time Flies Flower Blooms herself had set the condition that the loser would quit.
He insisted that she keep her word. Time Flies Flower Blooms, acknowledging her defeat, formally announced her departure from the game, but asked for a moment to speak privately with Ink White. However, Ink White promptly dismissed her, stating he had no interest in hearing from someone unimportant and instructed her to seek him out once she had finished her business, before departing to complete a mission.
After the duel, Lu Wanwan, as Chu He, expressed her satisfaction that the long ordeal of fighting and "mouth cannons" was over. In their in-game wedding house, she thanked Ink White for upholding justice and removing Time Flies Flower Blooms from the game, to which Ink White simply replied that it was his duty to protect his wife. She briefly wondered what Time Flies Flower Blooms had wanted to say, but Ink White dismissed it, reiterating his disinterest in her.
Later, in real life, Gu Qiaobei praised Ink White's decisive actions during the duel, calling them "clean and sharp" and referring to him as "the man I like." Lu Wanwan observed Han Jingmo engrossed in his phone, and someone commented on his intense focus, wondering if he was talking to his wife, further speculating on his personal life and whether "Ms. Guan" knew how he treated his wife.
Episode 16 Recap
Lu Wanwan, concerned about whether Han Jingmo had a girlfriend, initially wanted to confront him but decided against it, deeming it too aggressive. Soon after, Yiwei arrived, and Lu Wanwan seized the opportunity to inquire about Han Jingmo's relationship status, framing it as a question for a "friend." Yiwei confirmed that Han Jingmo was currently single but added that this might not be the case indefinitely.
As a condition for this information, Yiwei requested to borrow Lu Wanwan's bodyguard for two days. Lu Wanwan readily agreed, calling Zhao Jinghang to inform him of a "nice job" picking her up on time. However, Zhao Jinghang, sensing her intentions, deliberately declined. Lu Wanwan, unfazed and overjoyed by the news of Han Jingmo's single status, became deeply engrossed in her thoughts. Excitedly, Lu Wanwan planned to meet Han Jingmo but instead found him with Yan Shengkai.
She noticed Yan Shengkai frequently trying to spend time with Han Jingmo and even buying similar gifts, leading Lu Wanwan to believe Yan Shengkai had romantic intentions. Feeling frustrated, Lu Wanwan angrily left the scene. Later, her brother, Lu Guanghan, picked her up. In the car, Lu Wanwan appeared contemplative. She compared her feelings to Lu Guanghan's unspoken admiration for Gu Qiaobei, which he couldn't act on, suggesting that he must feel just as upset as she did.
Lu Guanghan, seeing through her facade, directly asked if she was bothered by Han Jingmo, but Lu Wanwan vehemently denied it. Meanwhile, Yiwei sought out Zhao Jinghang, who was drinking alone at a bar. She handed him an invitation to an event, asking him to attend with her and emphasizing that he must dress handsomely. Yiwei reminded him that Lu Wanwan had readily "traded" him for a piece of "business secret" information, making his participation mandatory.
Zhao Jinghang, though initially resistant to being ordered around by his boss's friend, conceded to the request. An online poll asking people to vote for Tao Yichen, Han Jingmo, or Gu Qiaobei quickly surfaced. Lu Wanwan, without hesitation, immediately voted for Han Jingmo. To her dismay, she realized she had used her main social media account.
She tried to delete the post quickly, but it was too late; fans had already taken screenshots, accusing her of trying to "piggyback" on Han Jingmo's popularity. The comments quickly turned harsh, with some even wishing ill upon her. Lin Wei, Han Jingmo's agent, also arrived on the scene to help manage the public relations crisis. However, Han Jingmo took matters into his own hands.
He pulled Lu Wanwan close for a photo, which he then posted on Weibo, clarifying their friendship. He explained that the online poll was part of a playful agreement from a month ago, where Lu Wanwan had promised to treat him to a meal, and he was publicly urging her to fulfill her promise, effectively dispelling any notion of her trying to exploit his fame. Lu Wanwan was deeply touched by Han Jingmo's thoughtful actions.
Later, while they were having dinner, she proudly told him about comments on Weibo that suggested they had a "married couple look" and should become a couple, to which Han Jingmo expressed no objection. During dinner, Lu Wanwan mistakenly drank an entire glass of what she thought was iced black tea, but was actually Long Island Iced Tea, and quickly became inebriated. Han Jingmo had to take her back to his place. The next morning, Han Jingmo prepared breakfast.
Lu Wanwan, still giddy, excitedly told Ye, Han Jingmo's assistant, that she and Han Jingmo were dating. Ye, however, dismissed it, believing she was playing an April Fool's joke, and refused to believe her. Later that morning, Lu Wanwan, feeling a bit awkward, apologized to Han Jingmo for the lack of a romantic setting—no flowers, no candlelight dinner, no Ferris wheel—for their relationship.
She explained that she had confessed her true feelings the previous day while inebriated, and to her delight, Han Jingmo had revealed he also liked her, leading to their relationship naturally beginning. Soon after, Zhao Jinghang called. Lu Wanwan, not daring to admit she was at Han Jingmo's place, lied, claiming she was at the gym working out. However, Zhao Jinghang overheard Han Jingmo calling her for breakfast in the background, making her hastily end the call.
During their meal, Lu Wanwan, unable to resist, leaned in and kissed Han Jingmo, happily admitting it was something she had wanted to do for a long time. Han Jingmo and Lu Wanwan planned their first date at an ocean park. As they prepared to leave, Zhao Jinghang surprisingly appeared in their car, declaring his intention to accompany them everywhere as her bodyguard. Despite Lu Wanwan's implicit protests, Zhao Jinghang insisted, reminding her he would be wherever his "boss" was.
The three arrived at the ocean park, where Han Jingmo and Zhao Jinghang engaged in a childish shooting game competition, drawing a crowd. Although some onlookers recognized Han Jingmo, Lu Wanwan quickly pulled the two away. She was pleased when Han Jingmo won her a large toy bear, but Zhao Jinghang, still childishly competitive, swatted at the bear, complaining it looked sleepy and annoyed him.
He then bought ice cream for some children, musing about the "price for hesitation," indicating his slight frustration with the situation. Later that evening, Zhao Jinghang, dressed impeccably, arrived to meet Yiwei at a Bao Nuo Jewelry launch event. Yiwei explained that due to staff shortages, she needed him to act as her bodyguard, not just protecting her, but also the precious necklace she was wearing. She then asked him to help her fasten the necklace around her neck.
As Yiwei stepped onto the stage, elegantly dressed, Zhao Jinghang was captivated by her beauty. Realizing he was staring, he quickly turned his back, attempting to regain his composure as the ceremony began and Yiwei was introduced as the new face of Bao Nuo Jewelry.
Episode 17 Recap
Zhao Jinghang was still accompanying Guan Yiwei as a borrowed bodyguard from Lu Wanwan, fulfilling the two-day agreement. At a brand event, Zhao Jinghang was recognized by the brand owner, Mr. Xu, who expressed surprise at his presence and questioned his return. Guan Yiwei, curious, asked Mr. Xu about "Master Hang's" identity, learning he was a low-key figure involved in many industries, primarily working behind the scenes, and even invested in their jewelry.
Guan Yiwei then directly confronted Zhao Jinghang, stating she knew his bodyguard role was not his true identity and that he was pretending to protect Lu Wanwan. Zhao Jinghang admitted he couldn't hide it from her, confirming he was indeed there to care for Lu Wanwan but added that she no longer needed his protection. When he offered to send her home, Guan Yiwei refused, wishing he would only do so when he genuinely desired to.
He gave her his coat, noting the drop in temperature, and she cryptically stated she could wait for him until he was "out of Lu Wanwan." Lu Wanwan, still feeling surreal about her new relationship with Han Jingmo, repeatedly sought confirmation from him. When she asked him to hit her to prove she wasn't dreaming, he kissed her instead, leaving her both surprised and wanting another, which he refused. He then firmly told her not to question their relationship again.
As Han Jingmo left, he gave her a bear, explaining he couldn't take it back home without raising suspicion. Lu Wanwan expressed her reluctance for him to leave. At home, Lu Wanwan's brother, Lu Guanghan, was surprised by her early return from the drama wrap. He expressed guilt for not adequately protecting her during filming, apologizing for her injuries and the challenges she faced while he was too busy to care for her.
To make amends, he offered to cook her a celebratory bowl of noodles for her first successful drama, wishing her a prosperous future in acting. The drama "Big Dunk" finally wrapped, with the cast and crew celebrating passionately. The director praised Lu Wanwan's significant improvement. Gu Qiaobei was also present and, knowing about Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo's relationship, appeared annoyed by their public display of affection, quipping about celebrities' free time and complaining about being a "loner."
Guan Yiwei brought Zhao Jinghang to the wrap party, stating he owed her one more day of bodyguard duty, which she wanted him to fulfill there. During group photos, Gu Qiaobei felt increasingly out of place, repeatedly shifting positions to avoid being caught between Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo, who openly held hands. Han Jingmo even joked that he was "restraining himself" and would have carried Lu Wanwan otherwise. Zhao Jinghang eventually left the celebration in silence.
Gu Qiaobei was later found drinking alone, clearly upset by the wrap. Lu Guanghan approached him, suggesting that acting was his true passion, not merely a "project" like variety shows. Gu Qiaobei downplayed it, saying all entertainment work was the same. Lu Guanghan urged him to reflect on his aspirations and criticized the restrictive nature of his current company, renewing his offer for Gu Qiaobei to join Ying Ge.
Gu Qiaobei, however, emphasized his loyalty to his agent, recalling how everyone dismissed his college film as having no "commercial value" except for his agent, who believed in him. He asserted that without his agent's faith, he would be "nothing," stressing the importance of "righteousness." To Gu Qiaobei's surprise, Lu Guanghan revealed he had actually seen that film, found it impressive, and it was precisely why he wanted to sign him. Lu Guanghan then offered to escort Gu Qiaobei home.
Meanwhile, offline, Han Jingmo, as "Ink White" in the game, considered revealing his true identity to Lu Wanwan, worrying she would be angry if he didn't soon confess his dual identity. In the game, Chu He's disciple (Young Master) was missing "Madam" (Lu Wanwan's character). The disciple summoned Chu He, aiming to introduce his in-game "wife," Chu Qianlan, to the guild, a move that required Chu He's approval as per Ink White's rule for female members.
As soon as Chu He agreed to meet, Ink White appeared. Lu Wanwan's character, "Madam," then initiated a discussion about divorce with Ink White. Ink White agreed but requested they remain "married" in-game until after the "Couple PK Competition," an official event he had long anticipated. Lu Wanwan agreed, but stipulated he should no longer call her "My Wife." Ink White jokingly agreed but still used the term.
Chu Qianlan, a fan of Ink White, asked to add him as a friend, but Ink White declined. Ink White and Chu He then left to complete "couple tasks," with Ink White expressing a desire to simply stroll quietly with Chu He, noting Chu Qianlan's admiration for Chu He. Ink White concluded by remarking, "Only you want to divorce me," hinting at his true feelings. Han Jingmo picked up Lu Wanwan, who introduced him to her best friend, Little Leaf.
Little Leaf commented on Lu Wanwan's study habits, implying Han Jingmo had supervised them, to Lu Wanwan's mock indignation. At their dining spot, Han Jingmo encouraged Lu Wanwan to eat freely, even suggesting she deplete his finances so he'd have an excuse to cling to her. They intimately shared an egg tart, Lu Wanwan eating the "sides" and Han Jingmo the "filling," and playfully debated which part of a strawberry was sweeter.
Their romantic moment was abruptly interrupted by Lu Guanghan, who had booked the venue and questioned their intimate actions. Lu Wanwan, flustered, claimed they were merely colleagues having a meal, with her thanking Han Jingmo for his guidance. Lu Guanghan challenged Han Jingmo, an experienced artist, for eating alone with a new artist without an agent.
Han Jingmo then declared they were in a "master and disciple" and "friends" relationship, which Lu Wanwan quickly affirmed, insisting they were just "talking about the script." Lu Guanghan sarcastically offered to "accompany them" to talk about the script, mimicking their tart-sharing with exaggerated aggression, and warned them of severe consequences if they were photographed. Han Jingmo tried several times to formally disclose their relationship, but Lu Wanwan discreetly kicked him under the table to stop him.
Lu Guanghan then ordered Lu Wanwan into his car, leaving Han Jingmo to find his own way home. In the car, Lu Guanghan rigorously interrogated Lu Wanwan about her relationship with Han Jingmo, warning her that dating a popular male artist could make her a "criminal" in the public eye. Lu Wanwan retorted that he was behaving like a "vicious parent" obstructing lovers and called his views "old-fashioned." Lu Guanghan insisted his experience made him think for her best interests.
Upon arriving home, Zhao Jinghang appeared with supper. Lu Guanghan immediately questioned Zhao Jinghang about any "affair" between Lu Wanwan and "a certain actor," explicitly mentioning Han Jingmo. Lu Wanwan quickly tried to divert attention by asking Zhao Jinghang about Guan Yiwei, whom she called "annoying," while secretly texting Guan Yiwei that Zhao Jinghang was at her house. Startled, Zhao Jinghang immediately denied any romantic involvement between Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo.
To further cover, he falsely claimed Lu Wanwan "often chats with Gu Qiaobei" and that he was trying to fulfill Lu Guanghan's long-standing wish to sign Gu Qiaobei to Ying Ge. Lu Guanghan seemed to accept this explanation. Moments later, Guan Yiwei called Zhao Jinghang, stating she was waiting outside Lu Wanwan's house.
Zhao Jinghang, startled, abruptly excused himself, claiming he was escaping to a place without Guan Yiwei and instructing Lu Guanghan to tell her he had "gone to Mars." Lu Guanghan was left bewildered by this sudden development. Lu Wanwan then video-called Han Jingmo, who was visibly upset. She attempted to apologize for hiding their relationship from her brother, inadvertently revealing that Lu Guanghan was her brother.
Han Jingmo's anger escalated, as he accused her of deceiving him by pretending to be an assistant when she was the boss's sister, demanding to know how he should "calculate" her deception. Lu Wanwan tried to dismiss it as "ancient history," but Han Jingmo abruptly ended the call, leaving her distraught. Feeling inexperienced in dating and unable to appease him, she pondered playing a game to clear her head.
Episode 18 Recap
Building on events from the previous episode, in the game "Moonlight Blade," Chu Qianlan expressed admiration for Mo Bai and eagerly sought to add him as a friend. However, Mo Bai immediately rejected her request, leaving Chu Qianlan disappointed, despite her envy of his bond with Chu He. Later, Mo Bai privately confronted Chu He about her true intentions regarding their in-game divorce, but Chu He, unsure how to respond, promptly vanished.
The next morning, Lu Wanwan's brother woke her up, reminding her that Lin Wei had been trying to reach her all morning about new scripts. Lu Wanwan then met Han Jingmo and, relieved that he wasn't upset with her anymore, affectionately called him "the one who loves me the most."
Han Jingmo told her that he would let her decide when to make their relationship public, giving her the right to reveal it, and clarified that his previous joke about her concealing her identity as his assistant was just that, a joke, now that she was at the company. Lu Wanwan then met with her agent, Lin Wei, who offered her three potential roles: a modern trendy drama, a historical immortal drama, and a movie titled "Tit-for-tat."
Lin Wei highly recommended "Tit-for-tat," highlighting its strong script, impressive cast, and potential for awards, despite the challenge of portraying a blind character named Su Ran, a criminal organization boss who disguises herself to approach the male lead. The role also included a kissing scene, which made Lu Wanwan hesitant. Lin Wei also praised Gu Qiaobei's professional acting skills, implying that if anyone doubted his capabilities, an audition would prove his worth.
Still unsure about the kissing scene, Lu Wanwan sought advice from Lu Guanghan, Yi Wei, Gu Qiaobei, and Song Chi. Everyone advised her to take the role but cautioned her not to tell Han Jingmo. Lu Guanghan, however, was preoccupied with a call and dismissively told her to follow her heart, as he was busy discussing a potential audition with someone named Mr. Du, assuring him that he would be satisfied with the person's performance.
Lu Wanwan later confided in Song Chi, who advised her to take the role but warned her not to tell Han Jingmo, describing him as a Scorpio who holds grudges. Later that evening, Lu Guanghan returned home to a dark house, mistaking Lu Wanwan for a thief. He accidentally hit her with a stick, only to discover she was practicing for her blind role in "Tit-for-tat" using a blind stick.
Lu Wanwan, annoyed that he interrupted her practice, explained she was trying to get a feel for the character. Amused, Lu Guanghan, calling himself her "sponsor," praised her dedication and left her to continue practicing. The next day, Lu Wanwan was seen on the street, using the blind stick and pretending to be blind. A kind passerby mistook her for genuinely blind, helped her cross the street, and even put money in her hat.
Later, at home, Lu Guanghan playfully put chili oil in her soup during dinner, causing Lu Wanwan to chase him in mock anger. When Lu Wanwan went for the "Tit-for-tat" audition, she was initially very nervous, admitting that her previous acting experience on "Big Dunk" was rough and she feared the stricter director and complex role. During her performance, she struggled, leading Director Gu to stop the scene.
Han Jingmo then offered to help, explaining that it was difficult for one person to act out scenes involving two characters. With Han Jingmo's guidance, Lu Wanwan delivered a stellar performance, showcasing detailed observations from Al Pacino's portrayal in "Scent of a Woman" and lessons learned from a school for the blind. Director Gu was impressed by her nuanced acting and attention to detail.
After she successfully passed the audition, she was thrilled to learn that Han Jingmo was cast as the male lead, especially given the upcoming kissing scene. Meanwhile, Gu Qiaobei failed to show up for his audition. He had inadvertently overheard a conversation where the company boss, Mr. Mu, and others mocked Lu Guanghan, calling him a fool for repeatedly giving valuable resources to "an outsider" like Gu Qiaobei. They remarked that these resources ultimately strengthened "their" own company's capabilities.
Enraged by the perceived charity, Gu Qiaobei burst into Lu Guanghan's office, confronting him for interfering in his affairs. He vehemently refused to participate in "Tit-for-tat" or even audition, stating he didn't need opportunities secretly "bestowed" upon him, and demanded Lu Guanghan stay away from him. Later, visibly upset, Gu Qiaobei sought solace in the game "Moonlight Blade" and confided in "Top Star of Lu," Lu Guanghan's in-game avatar.
He expressed his frustration about someone being too kind to him, making him feel like a burden, and confessed his own confusion about his goals. In return, Lu Guanghan, through his avatar, lamented how his desire to give his best to others was often misunderstood as malice. On set, Lu Wanwan was visibly captivated while watching Han Jingmo act. When Song Chi asked what she was staring at, Lu Wanwan openly declared Han Jingmo as her "boyfriend."
She excitedly recounted how she had initiated the confession, never expecting him to agree, and joked that he simply couldn't resist her charm. Song Chi was utterly shocked by the revelation, commenting on Lu Wanwan's "sinister and cunning" nature and her seemingly self-deprecating yet successful romantic pursuit. Lu Wanwan tried to downplay the situation, emphasizing the need for discretion.
Later, while Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo were having a meal, Yan Shengkai approached Han Jingmo, asking for his help in choosing a birthday gift for a male friend. Han Jingmo promptly rejected her, stating he was busy. Lu Wanwan, out of politeness, offered Yan Shengkai some of her fruit, but Han Jingmo immediately intervened, blocking Lu Wanwan's hand and explicitly stating that the fruit was meant only for Lu Wanwan. Yan Shengkai, visibly annoyed, excused herself and left.
Han Jingmo then playfully chided Lu Wanwan for not being discreet enough, referencing her earlier conversation with Song Chi. During filming, Lu Wanwan accidentally stepped on a bead and fell, injuring herself. Yan Shengkai identified the bead as belonging to Xia Linxi, noting its expensive value.
Although Xia Linxi's assistant denied responsibility, Yan Shengkai suspected that the bead was meant to cause trouble for her, as she was scheduled to film the next scene and had a previous conflict with Xia Linxi. Xia Linxi herself denied involvement with a dismissive attitude, telling others to "believe it or not." Han Jingmo, however, appeared to suspect Xia Linxi, prompting her to challenge his implication. Lu Guanghan, upon hearing about Lu Wanwan's injury and hospitalization, rushed to the scene.
Despite efforts to maintain a low profile by not calling an ambulance, reporters had already swarmed the hospital parking lot. Lu Wanwan was safely escorted away, and the company stated they would issue a formal statement. Lu Guanghan, visibly upset, confronted Lu Wanwan for trying to hide her injury from him, reminding her of a past incident involving food poisoning and scolding her for repeatedly trying to conceal things.
Lu Wanwan explained her fear of worrying him and suspected that Xia Linxi's agent, Ning Xiao, might have leaked their location to the press. Lin Wei then called Lu Guanghan, apologizing for the incident and suggesting a misunderstanding, characterizing Xia Linxi as "a bit arrogant" but not malicious. Lu Guanghan arranged to meet Lin Wei and Ning Xiao at the set in thirty minutes.
Han Jingmo advised Lu Guanghan that a small artist's injury attracting personal attention from a major boss would lead to public speculation about their relationship and potential sensationalism unless they publicly revealed their sibling ties. Lu Wanwan vehemently rejected this idea, stating she had a goal not to be associated with him in that way. Lu Guanghan then questioned Han Jingmo, asking how he knew about his and Lu Wanwan's sibling relationship.
Episode 19 Recap
Lu Wanwan, hesitant to admit the truth to Lu Guanghan, falsely claimed he had simply guessed her relationship. Lu Guanghan was not easily convinced, yet he did not expose her on the spot. Later, he advised Lu Wanwan that she could flirt with Han Jingmo, but warned her not to get serious. He emphasized that while their mother was a fan of Han Jingmo, their father (Old Lu) disliked him.
Lu Wanwan immediately affirmed her love for Han Jingmo, confirming their relationship and hoping for Lu Guanghan's blessing. Lu Guanghan cautioned her about the demanding nature of public relationships, but Lu Wanwan, in turn, urged him not to be overly anxious and to live in the moment. Lu Guanghan agreed not to interfere but insisted she not cry if they eventually broke up. Lu Wanwan, however, dismissed this notion, reiterating her desire for immediate gratification.
She also encouraged Lu Guanghan to pursue a relationship, lest he grow old. Lu Wanwan then playfully teased Lu Guanghan about Gu Qiaobei, but Lu Guanghan distinguished Gu Qiaobei from Han Jingmo, praising Gu Qiaobei's artistic pursuits and passion for acting before quickly dismissing the topic and remarking on Lu Wanwan's stubborn temperament. The following day, Lu Wanwan chatted with Gu Qiaobei and Han Jingmo. Gu Qiaobei invited Lu Wanwan to dinner, expressing concern for her leg injury.
Lu Wanwan feigned uncertainty to Lu Guanghan, who emphatically told her to go, even if she had to crawl. At the restaurant, Han Jingmo showed immense care for Lu Wanwan, ensuring her comfort, much to the notice of those around them. When Gu Qiaobei arrived, Lu Guanghan’s expression immediately became nervous, yet his eyes lit up with excitement. Gu Qiaobei briefly retreated to confirm the room number before re-entering and settling beside Lu Guanghan.
The two men raised their glasses in a toast, while Lu Wanwan deliberately showed affection towards Han Jingmo. Lu Guanghan then excused himself to take a call, and Gu Qiaobei followed, using the opportunity to apologize for his previous emotional behavior and inappropriate words. Lu Guanghan, unfazed, waved off the apology, signaling their reconciliation. Inside the room, Guan Yiwei eagerly pressed Lu Wanwan to contact Zhao Jinghang. Lu Wanwan, however, was unsure how to summon him.
Han Jingmo cleverly suggested telling Zhao Jinghang that he and Lu Wanwan were getting married and wanted him to be the best man, certain that this would make Zhao Jinghang appear. Meanwhile, news outlets were abuzz with reports of Lu Wanwan's injury. Xia Linxi publicly clarified that she was not responsible. Lu Wanwan briefly wondered about the true culprit but soon dismissed the thought as too complicated, opting instead to focus on an 8 PM game invitation.
That evening, everyone gathered online for the wedding of Chu He's apprentice, Young Master. Ink White arrived late, acknowledging that everyone had been too busy to log in frequently. However, Chu Qianlan appeared very late, explaining she couldn't marry because she was ill, in the hospital, and about to undergo surgery. Her explanation was met with skepticism, as no one believed someone truly sick enough for surgery could be online gaming. Chu Qianlan offered a brief excuse and left.
Young Master considered canceling the wedding announcement, but Lu Guanghan suggested postponing it and citing the bride's illness, reasoning that the public wouldn't truly care about the rescheduled date. With their friends' support, Young Master's spirits lifted. News reports continued to speculate about Lu Wanwan's swift rise, attributing it to powerful backing. On set, Lu Wanwan encountered Xia Linxi, and from their conversation, realized Xia Linxi had feelings for Lu Guanghan.
A delighted Lu Wanwan decided she would "blackmail" Lu Guanghan upon her return. Back at their residence, as Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo were about to embrace, Lu Wanwan spontaneously decided to test Han Jingmo. She immediately suggested they play a game. Han Jingmo demonstrated exceptional and unique gaming maneuvers, leaving Lu Wanwan stunned by his skill. She observed that his playing style was entirely different from Ink White's, concluding that her earlier suspicions had been unfounded.
Elsewhere, Zhao Jinghang arrived in Europe, only to be discovered by Guan Yiwei. Upon seeing her, Zhao Jinghang fled, with Guan Yiwei in hot pursuit, heels clicking. At dinner with some crew members, Song Chi revealed that the day's filming halt was orchestrated to identify the person who had harmed Lu Wanwan. She explained that the individual spreading negative rumors about Lu Wanwan and the one who caused her fall were the same person, operating within the crew.
Song Chi, acting under Lu Guanghan's instruction, admitted to intentionally spreading the rumor that Lu Guanghan had stayed in Lu Wanwan's room the previous night, knowing it would provoke the culprit to attempt to photograph them, thus leading to their capture. Overhearing this, Yan Shengkai rushed to a hotel to warn Zhang Qiang not to secretly photograph, calling it a trap. Unbeknownst to her, she was walking into a "trap within a trap."
A hidden camera in Zhang Qiang's room was transmitting footage directly to Lu Guanghan's room, exposing Yan Shengkai's true nature. It was then revealed that Yan Shengkai was the mastermind behind everything. Han Jingmo was credited with high intelligence and insight for uncovering Zhang Qiang as a mere "tool man," effectively solving a major problem for the crew and rescuing Lu Wanwan from a difficult situation.
Song Chi praised Han Jingmo, explaining that Yan Shengkai's extreme caution, using only cash transactions and ambiguous messages with Zhang Qiang, necessitated the elaborate "catch a turtle in a jar" scheme. Lu Guanghan's staged visit to Lu Wanwan's room was essential to the deception. The conversation also brought to light that Yan Shengkai had meticulously orchestrated Guan Yiwei's car accident, having fooled many, including Li Weiqian. With the matter finally resolved, everyone raised a toast.
Han Jingmo thanked Lu Guanghan for his assistance, to which Lu Guanghan replied that it was all for Lu Wanwan. Lu Guanghan then stated that while he admired Han Jingmo as a company boss, as Lu Wanwan's brother, he could not yet accept their relationship. Han Jingmo acknowledged this, expressing his resolve to change Lu Guanghan's mind.
Episode 20 Recap
Han Jingmo acknowledged Lu Guanghan's concerns about Yan Shengkai, admitting that Yan Shengkai was associated with him. Han Jingmo promised to compensate Lu Guanghan for the trouble Yan Shengkai caused, which Lu Guanghan lamented had "ruined his wife" (Lu Wanwan, likely referring to the negative impact on her reputation and career due to the incident Yan Shengkai caused). Han Jingmo also mentioned he was personally helping Lu Guanghan "clear the way to love" by addressing issues with Zhao Jinghang.
Meanwhile, Lu Wanwan went online to confront Between Ink White, declaring her decision to separate from him and dissolve their in-game marriage because she wanted to focus on her real-life relationship with Han Jingmo. She insisted her decision was final, regardless of his agreement. Between Ink White expressed his apologies for past actions and offered to compensate her for the in-game wedding.
He then requested to meet in person, stating that if she still wished to part ways after their meeting, he would accept her decision without further protest. Despite Lu Wanwan's initial embarrassment and reluctance to meet, she eventually agreed to a meeting in three days. Lu Guanghan visited Lu Wanwan on set, where Xia Linxi approached him to express her gratitude.
She thanked him for helping to clear her name regarding Yan Shengkai's incident and offered to treat him to dinner as a token of appreciation. However, Lu Guanghan politely declined, stating that as a producer, it was merely his duty. He explained that he had already made plans to visit a nearby art exhibition with Gu Qiaobei and then have dinner together, before leaving with Gu Qiaobei. Xia Linxi, feeling slighted, confronted Lu Wanwan, accusing her of mocking her.
Lu Wanwan clarified that Lu Guanghan was solely focused on his career and was determined to sign Gu Qiaobei without distractions. Xia Linxi, however, remained confident in her ability to win Lu Guanghan's affection, asserting that she would make him accept her admiration sooner or later. At the art exhibition, Lu Guanghan and Gu Qiaobei discussed a particular painting, with Gu Qiaobei offering insightful observations about its use of color and lines.
He noted that it reminded him of the Surrealist artist Louise Bourgeois, whose sculptures were rich in symbolic meaning and explored the connection between space and emotion. Lu Guanghan was impressed by Gu Qiaobei's knowledge, prompting Gu Qiaobei to reveal that he had majored in art before accidentally entering the entertainment industry, suggesting Lu Guanghan didn't fully know him. When Lu Wanwan arrived at the agreed meeting place with Between Ink White, fireworks suddenly lit up the sky.
Han Jingmo appeared, walking towards a stunned Lu Wanwan. He revealed his true identity, calling her "Madam Chu He" and confirming he was Between Ink White. Overwhelmed and angry, Lu Wanwan immediately branded him a "liar" and turned to leave. Back home, Lu Wanwan buried herself in bed, ignoring her ringing phone. Lu Guanghan, concerned, pressed her to explain what happened. When she finally revealed that Han Jingmo was Between Ink White, Lu Guanghan's expression shifted from concern to amusement.
He even speculated, somewhat excitedly, that "Three Swordsmanship of Tai Bai" (whom players also referred to as "Xiao San" due to his close in-game relationship with Between Ink White) could be Gu Qiaobei. Lu Wanwan then reflected on the situation, realizing that despite her initial anger, her feelings for Han Jingmo were consistent, likening their situation to the loyalty depicted in "Farewell, My Concubine," where she was Concubine Yu and he was the king. Just then, the doorbell rang.
Lu Wanwan rushed to open it, but Lu Guanghan stopped her, asserting that a woman should "put on airs" in such situations. He summarily dismissed Han Jingmo from the doorstep, scolding him for deceiving Lu Wanwan by playing two roles. Despite Lu Wanwan's urge to see Han Jingmo, Lu Guanghan held her back, insisting that she shouldn't reconcile so easily and that she should set a higher boundary in relationships.
He then compelled her to log into the game to distract herself. In the game, Gu Qiaobei encountered "Top Star of Lu" (Lu Guanghan's game ID) and again proposed playing the "Love as One Heart" game. Lu Guanghan, however, candidly revealed that he was a man and couldn't participate in a couple's game, explaining that he had accidentally registered a female character. He suggested they become "brothers" instead, to which Gu Qiaobei readily agreed.
Lu Guanghan tried to restrict Lu Wanwan from logging into her game account, but she threatened to expose his real identity as "Top Star of Lu" to Gu Qiaobei if he continued to interfere. Faced with this, Lu Guanghan reluctantly allowed her to go online. Shortly after, Between Ink White logged in and began broadcasting apologies to Chu He (Lu Wanwan) across the server using a trumpet, admitting he was "so wrong" and willing to accept any punishment without resistance.
Other players were astonished by the usually cold and quiet Genius's change in demeanor, finding the "contrast lovely." Despite the widespread apologies, Lu Wanwan, still annoyed, abruptly logged off. In the ongoing discussions, players debated whether Chu He and Between Ink White would still participate in the upcoming Couple Competition. Between Ink White unequivocally stated that Chu He was his wife, and her wishes were paramount, even telling others to apologize directly to her.
He reiterated his apology to her before she disconnected. Lu Wanwan saw the numerous messages from Han Jingmo and felt a pang of pity, considering forgiving him. However, Lu Guanghan snatched her phone, warning her not to forgive him too easily. He advised her that relationships, much like warfare, required strategy, and that she should use this opportunity to "give him a hard time" and "show him her authority."
He emphasized that a sincere relationship needed boundaries and clear reward and punishment, asserting that he, as a man, understood how men thought. Lu Wanwan, feeling Han Jingmo was already "pitiful," couldn't bring herself to be as tough as Lu Guanghan wanted, but she yielded to his persistent advice. Lu Guanghan later learned that Gu Qiaobei had been "shelved" from his entertainment activities.
He was deeply worried, but Gu Qiaobei had not contacted him, clearly indicating he didn't want Lu Guanghan to intervene. This left Lu Guanghan concerned and unsure of how to proceed. The following day, as Lu Wanwan arrived at work, Han Jingmo immediately pulled her into a storage room. He noted that she hadn't acknowledged him for eighteen hours, a silence he found unbearable. Han Jingmo then forcefully kissed Lu Wanwan, who reacted by biting his lip in anger.
She warned him that any further harassment would lead to a breakup. However, Han Jingmo declared that there was "only a beginning but not an end" to their relationship, insisting that while she could be angry or unhappy, she could not hurt herself or propose a breakup, as their connection was "heading to marriage." Lu Wanwan, flustered, intentionally ran away. That evening, Han Jingmo sent more messages.
Lu Wanwan, remembering the kiss and Han Jingmo's "pitifully charming" yet determined look, felt a flutter in her heart. She was secretly glad she had run away quickly, fearing she might have forgiven him otherwise. To calm her turbulent emotions, Lu Wanwan decided to play the game. She soon encountered Between Ink White and, still fuming, furiously attacked him with her sword, repeatedly "killing" him in the game.
Han Jingmo, in his character, stood there smiling, allowing her to repeatedly defeat him. Lu Wanwan stated it was like "repaying a debt" for the countless times he had instantly killed her in the past. Remembering an earlier incident, Lu Wanwan asked Between Ink White if she still had a chance to "knock him off" again, and he readily agreed.
Episode 21 Recap
In the virtual world, Lu Wanwan asserted her dominance over Between Ink White, forcing him to strike a pose for a series of impromptu group photos with other players at Adventurer Island. Despite the public humiliation, Between Ink White reluctantly cooperated, only to sigh in relief when Lu Wanwan finally permitted him to stand. He then dramatically summoned ten thousand swords, dispersing the onlookers.
Between Ink White pleaded with Lu Wanwan to end her anger, but she remained firm, stating she had set a goal of a 100-hour period of anger and had only completed 27. He despaired, wondering how he would endure the remaining 73 hours, longing for time to speed up. Lu Wanwan, however, dismissed his impatience, proposing they watch the Starry Festival, an annual global live stream, where both her "goddess" and Han Jingmo were nominated.
The Starry Festival red carpet featured various celebrities, including Gu Qiaobei and Lu Guanghan. Later, Han Jingmo and Lu Wanwan made their grand entrance, drawing significant attention as the hosts highlighted their "Tit-for-tat" collaboration and the widespread online speculation about their relationship. When asked if they had "chemistry in real life," Lu Wanwan responded enigmatically that "fate is unsure" and praised Han Jingmo for all she had learned from him.
Han Jingmo, discussing their award nominations, emphasized the importance of a calm mindset over mere confidence, stating that audience appreciation was their true motivation, a sentiment Lu Wanwan echoed. When pressed about who had a higher chance of winning, Lu Wanwan declared Han Jingmo "is the best actor" in her heart. Backstage, their composed public demeanor dissolved. Lu Wanwan, clearly frustrated, confronted Han Jingmo, asking if he genuinely believed their "business talk."
Separately, in a European country, Zhao Jinghang and Yiwei watched the live stream. Yiwei exclaimed how good Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo looked together, while Zhao Jinghang, visibly upset, turned his head away. The tension escalated as Tao Yichen, last year's Best Actor, took the stage to present the coveted Best Actor Award. After a humorous anecdote about someone voting exclusively for a single nominee, he announced Han Jingmo as "The winner of the Best Actor Award."
As Han Jingmo accepted his award, he used the platform to deliver a heartfelt apology to Lu Wanwan, acknowledging his fault and admitting he couldn't endure "100 hours" of her anger, pleading for them to "make up." He then publicly declared, "Lu Wanwan is my girlfriend," explaining why she had voted for only one person in a multiple-choice poll—because she was already with him.
He walked towards a tearful Lu Wanwan in the audience, asking for her forgiveness in advance and, in a tender moment, confessed his love. Their embrace was met with flashing lights. Immediately, Lu Guanghan, on a call, instructed his team at Ying Ge to ensure all their artists sent blessings to Han Jingmo and Lu Wanwan, intending to capitalize on the buzz. He also announced that he would personally oversee all of Lu Wanwan's future business engagements.
Back in Europe, Zhao Jinghang nursed his sorrow with drinks, joined by Yiwei. Yiwei observed that despite his outwardly relaxed demeanor, Zhao Jinghang was actually a complicated person, prone to stubbornness and deeply fearful of loss. Zhao Jinghang admitted his cowardice, confessing that he had always intended to protect Lu Wanwan as a brother and witness her happiness. Yet, he now painfully regretted his inaction, realizing she was with someone else.
Yiwei, ever blunt, told him his feelings amounted to "unrequited love," not a true breakup, as a breakup required mutual affection. She then playfully, but firmly, warned him not to miss her, Guan Yiwei, after missing Lu Wanwan, implying dire consequences if he failed to appreciate her. Following the awards ceremony, a furious Lu Guanghan confronted Lu Wanwan, expressing his exasperation.
Han Jingmo, however, stepped forward to take full responsibility, clarifying that Lu Wanwan had been unaware of his public announcement. Lu Guanghan raged about the global live stream and how the unexpected revelation had ruined his plans for a variety show. He revealed that his parents, Lu and Susu, were already rushing home, livid. Lu Guanghan then pointedly warned Han Jingmo that his father, Lu, did not like him.
However, Lu Wanwan quickly reassured Han Jingmo, sharing that her mother, Susu, was a dedicated fan of his, which visibly boosted his spirits. The next day, Susu was beside herself with excitement for Han Jingmo's visit, bustling around to prepare. Upon his arrival with numerous gifts, she enthusiastically welcomed him, taking his bags and formally introducing him to Lu.
Susu lavished Han Jingmo with fresh tea and fruit, prompting Lu Wanwan to jokingly remind her not to "feed him like a pig," to which Susu retorted that such a handsome "pig" didn't exist. Susu was particularly delighted with a jade bracelet Han Jingmo gifted her, praising its exquisite quality and gleefully showing it off. She immediately called Lu Guanghan, demanding he rush home for dinner.
Han Jingmo further impressed Lu by presenting him with a prized chess set and two rare, out-of-print books that Lu had sought for years. Susu was overjoyed, exclaiming how thoughtful Han Jingmo was, and jokingly asserted that he could even "take off the stars and the moon" for Lu if he wished. Lu, however, remained stoic, stating that these gifts alone were not enough to win his "only daughter."
Lu Wanwan, overhearing this, humorously interjected, questioning when she had become an only daughter and if Lu Guanghan had been disowned. Lu then initiated a series of "exam" questions for Han Jingmo: would he tell Lu Wanwan if she gained weight? Would he agree if she wanted a pet? What would he do if she got angry?
Han Jingmo, after asking to elaborate, gave thoughtful responses: he would help Lu Wanwan address weight gain and exercise with her, he would only allow non-furry pets due to her allergies, and he would address any anger or issues promptly without letting them fester overnight. Susu was ecstatic with his answers, declaring him "the best son-in-law of the Lu family" and vowing to record his words for Lu Guanghan's future reference.
When Lu tried to continue his interrogation, Susu intervened, playfully scolding him for treating Han Jingmo's visit like an exam and whisking Han Jingmo away to help her set the dinner table. Later, Lu Wanwan asked her father for his assessment of Han Jingmo, to which Lu simply replied, "So-so." Lu Wanwan, however, understood this lukewarm praise as an indication that Han Jingmo had passed his test.
Lu Guanghan finally arrived for dinner, immediately facing his parents' usual prodding about his unmarried status. As the family enjoyed their harmonious meal, with Susu praising their home-grown vegetables and Han Jingmo politely complimenting the food, Lu Guanghan jokingly called Han Jingmo a "suck-up" and "double-dealer." Susu continued to lavish praise on Han Jingmo while criticizing Lu Guanghan for not having settled down.
The warm, happy family scene made Han Jingmo reflective, and Lu Wanwan, sensing his thoughts, gently took his hand, conveying her belief that their own future family would one day share such happiness. After dinner, Lu invited Han Jingmo for a game of chess, acknowledging his reputation as a skilled player. Susu, meanwhile, gushed to Lu Wanwan about Han Jingmo, praising his modesty, politeness, and sensible nature, noting how pleasing he was in every way.
She expressed how happy he made her, marveling at how their "mother and daughter are connected" through their similar tastes. Susu then wondered if she could ask Han Jingmo for an autograph or photo, but Lu Wanwan reminded her of future opportunities and warned that Lu would be jealous. Sensing a potential protracted chess match, Lu Wanwan discreetly asked Susu for help.
Episode 22 Recap
While playing an online game, Lu Guanghan noticed a friend, Gu Qiaobei, was spending more time online, prompting her to ask if he had stopped working. Gu Qiaobei explained he had rejected several projects to re-evaluate his situation. He confessed that he had made a significant career decision but was unsure if it was the right one.
He felt a deep sense of gratitude towards his boss, who had supported him since the start of his career, yet he now felt unable to meet their expectations. Gu Qiaobei admitted he didn't want to meet those expectations anymore, expressing a desire to step out of his comfort zone and pursue something truly meaningful, even if it didn't lead to great achievements. He worried about the public scrutiny his job entailed and the potential embarrassment of failure.
Lu Guanghan, recognizing Gu Qiaobei's serious demeanor both in-game and in real life, promised him full support for his decision, although Gu Qiaobei remained unaware that his in-game friend was "Lu's Top Star." Meanwhile, during a Go game, Lu Wanwan grew anxious watching Han Jingmo struggle against her father, Lu. She quickly sent Susu to distract her father, then urgently sought help from her brother, Lu Guanghan, a Go master trained by their father.
Lu Wanwan pleaded with him, calling him the "Omnipotent Top Star of Lu," and promised to wash his socks for two months if he could solve the puzzle. Lu Guanghan quickly provided a solution. Han Jingmo, although Lu Guanghan provided the solution, did not fully follow his advice, preferring to play his own way. He later admitted to Lu Wanwan's father that he only had a superficial understanding of Go and couldn't solve the puzzle himself.
He expressed his sincere dedication to Lu Wanwan and to learning Go, promising to frequently seek guidance from her father, hoping to one day become a recognized opponent. Lu's father, while stern, accepted Han Jingmo's sincerity, warning him of the consequences if he ever mistreated Lu Wanwan, thus confirming him as a future son-in-law. Later, Han Jingmo informed Lu Guanghan that Gu Qiaobei was considering a career change.
Remembering Gu Qiaobei's earlier desire to break free from his comfort zone, Lu Guanghan went to visit him. Gu Qiaobei greeted her, celebrating his decision to terminate his contract and embark on a new life. He confessed that he had never enjoyed acting and was touched that Lu Guanghan, unlike what he expected, didn't try to persuade him to stay in the industry.
Instead, Lu Guanghan wholeheartedly supported his choice, encouraging him to embrace the challenge and "do whatever he wanted while he was still young," so he wouldn't regret it later. Gu Qiaobei admitted the difficulty of giving up his star status but Lu Guanghan reassured him, promising silent support for whatever future endeavors he chose. Gu Qiaobei then excitedly offered Lu Guanghan his newly made Mapo Tofu.
However, just as he was about to try it, Lu Guanghan received a call from a food delivery person and quickly excused herself, subtly implying her apprehension about tasting the dish. In another instance, Lin Wei accompanied Zhao Jinghang on an outing. Despite Zhao Jinghang's initial solemn mood, Lin Wei encouraged him to enjoy himself.
They spent the day shopping and dancing, and Zhao Jinghang expressed his genuine gratitude to Lin Wei for helping him relax and for the enjoyable time. Back at the agency, Lin Wei informed Lu Wanwan that the game Moonlight Blade wanted her to be their female spokesperson alongside Han Jingmo. Lu Wanwan, surprised, learned that her endorsement fee was significantly lower than Han Jingmo's, which Lin Wei explained was a cost-saving measure due to her rookie status.
Lin Wei further clarified that the company intended to capitalize on Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo's recently publicized relationship, solidifying their image as a "screen couple" to boost both their popularity. Despite Lu Wanwan's initial protest about not having a say as an artist, Lin Wei insisted it was a carefully chosen first endorsement for her and urged her to take it seriously, adding that the shooting would begin in a week.
Upon seeing her beautiful in-game character model, Lu Wanwan marveled that it was like a fantasy becoming reality. During the photoshoot for Moonlight Blade, Lu Wanwan, dressed in her character's beautiful in-game attire, was rehearsing a scene that required her to portray a mix of righteousness and fear. However, during the take, she suddenly got a nosebleed, causing a halt in production.
She apologized, explaining to Han Jingmo that it was her first time filming such a scene with so many people watching, making her incredibly nervous and stressed. Han Jingmo reminded her that as a professional actress, she needed to quickly get into character regardless of the situation and not let a small psychological barrier defeat her, especially since future scenes might be even more challenging. He then advised her to relax and focus on his eyes during the next take.
Reassured, Lu Wanwan, with newfound confidence, told him not to worry, emphasizing her strong psychological resilience. Later, online comments criticized Lu Wanwan, accusing her of using Han Jingmo for fame. Lu Wanwan dismissed the negative comments, viewing them as a sign of their continued popularity. Lu Guanghan, unable to reach Han Jingmo himself, tasked Lu Wanwan with finding out what was happening, as he couldn't keep the negative news suppressed for long.
Lin Wei then revealed to Lu Wanwan that Han Jingmo had been photographed meeting Jiang Mingshu, a renowned three-time Best Actress, at a private club. Lin Wei highlighted the significant age gap and questioned why Jiang Mingshu had proactively suppressed the news if there was nothing illicit between them. Determined to uncover the truth, Lu Wanwan went to Han Jingmo's residence, bringing him food out of concern.
She found him watching one of Jiang Mingshu's movies and discovered a collection of her films. Suspecting Han Jingmo had a romantic interest in Jiang Mingshu, Lu Wanwan questioned him. Han Jingmo denied it, explaining he was preparing for an upcoming project where Jiang Mingshu would be a guest star with whom he had scenes, necessitating an understanding of her acting style.
Though Lu Wanwan wanted to inquire about the private club photo, she ultimately held back, leaving abruptly and rejecting his offer to drive her home. Han Jingmo had initially been reluctant to accept a role opposite Jiang Mingshu, even asking Lin Wei if he could withdraw from the project. However, Lin Wei pressed him, citing her own principle of acting which was closely tied to Jiang Mingshu. Later, Jiang Mingshu called Han Jingmo, arranging a private meeting.
During their encounter, she acknowledged their long estrangement and expressed a desire to mend their relationship, emphasizing that despite everything, they were still mother and son, not enemies. She apologized for her past mistakes, explaining that as a young, inexperienced mother twenty years ago, she didn't understand responsibility. She also expressed concern about potential awkwardness on set, which was why she wanted to meet beforehand. She made it clear that their shared history was a secret she wished to keep.
Han Jingmo, although respectful of her wishes, asked how he should address her on set, to which she replied either "Senior" or "Best Actress" was fine. During their conversation, Jiang Mingshu answered a call from a child, speaking in a gentle, affectionate tone, presenting herself as a loving mother. Moments after Jiang Mingshu's call ended, Lu Wanwan appeared, having been informed by Lin Wei that Han Jingmo was there. She affectionately clung to him, prompting him to confide in her.
Han Jingmo revealed that Jiang Mingshu was his biological mother, who had given birth to him but never truly acknowledged him. He recounted their last meeting five years prior, where she had apologized for her past actions but firmly stated that she was now living a happy life with a new family, who knew nothing of him. She had asked him never to contact her again, fearing he would disrupt her life.
Han Jingmo explained that his father had an affair while Jiang Mingshu was pregnant with him, leading to her divorce after his birth. She then remarried and started a new family, including another son, and didn't want him to interfere with her newfound happiness. Lu Wanwan expressed her sympathy, questioning why Jiang Mingshu had treated him so cruelly. However, Han Jingmo recoiled from her pitying gaze.
Understanding his discomfort, Lu Wanwan quickly shifted her expression, turning to him with a radiant smile. She playfully asserted that with her, he would have a perfect life, not one that was "over," but truly complete, before playfully walking away. Amused and touched by her earnest attempts to cheer him up, Han Jingmo followed her. Later, Lu Wanwan approached Lin Wei, asking for Jiang Mingshu's contact information.
She claimed she wanted to discuss acting with the acclaimed actress and get an autograph, mentioning that her father was also a fan. When Lin Wei suggested she could meet Jiang Mingshu on set in a few days, Lu Wanwan insisted she needed the contact immediately. Just then, Han Jingmo appeared, grabbing her and sternly demanding she come with him, clearly having overheard her request.
Episode 23 Recap
Han Jingmo led Lu Wanwan to the staircase, inquiring why she sought out Jiang Mingshu. Lu Wanwan explained her desire to alleviate their strained mother-son relationship, hoping that seeing him unhappy would prompt a reconciliation and bring him joy. Han Jingmo suggested they marry, which he believed would make him happy, but Lu Wanwan felt their current social standing was too disparate.
She expressed a wish to only marry him when she believed she was worthy, then made a series of fervent vows to never abandon him. To her dismay, the universe seemed to conspire against her, as lights flickered out, pipes burst, and thunder roared mid-oath. Amused, Han Jingmo dismissed her vows as "feudal superstition" and then took her to his room to watch a horror movie.
Lu Wanwan, terrified, immediately begged him to stop, promising to "swear seriously and be an honest person," and reiterated her vow of unwavering loyalty, finally appeasing him. Later, in the game, Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo encountered Young Master of the Tang Sect. Young Master proudly shared that Chu Qianlan's combat power had dramatically increased, thanks to his help with power-leveling.
Han Jingmo, in his Ink White persona, stood still allowing Lu Wanwan, as Chu He, to defeat him, much to Young Master's annoyance, who complained about their excessive public displays of affection and Ink White's tendency to prioritize his girlfriend over his friends. Young Master then proposed a duel between Chu Qianlan and Chu He. Although Chu He won, she was impressed by Chu Qianlan's rapid improvement in such a short time.
However, Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo noticed that Chu Qianlan's movements were remarkably similar to Time Flies Flower Blooms's, leading them to suspect Chu Qianlan was merely a smurf account of the latter. Fearing Chu Qianlan was manipulating Young Master's feelings, Lu Wanwan proposed a fake breakup with Ink White to lure Chu Qianlan into exposing herself.
To execute their plan, Lu Wanwan orchestrated an elaborate in-game public argument, making it appear as if Ink White was desperately begging Chu He for forgiveness, kneeling and calling her his "goddess." Other players reacted with disbelief, questioning if Ink White's account had been hacked, having never witnessed such behavior from him. Lu Wanwan, maintaining Chu He's stern facade, declared the breakup, while Chu Qianlan, observing the scene, allowed a subtle smile to cross her face.
Han Jingmo then used Ink White's account to post a public request for the "access to Between Xing Yuan" pass at a high price. Soon after, Chu Qianlan, who was indeed Time Flies Flower Blooms, added him as a friend and offered the pass, revealing during Ink White's live stream that she had it on "another account"—her main account, Time Flies Flower Blooms. This public confession, witnessed by hundreds of thousands, exposed her true identity.
Players immediately mocked her, recalling how she had deliberately abandoned Young Master at their in-game wedding, revealing her true intentions were to pursue Ink White. Following the revelation, players throughout the game began to chase Chu Qianlan. Ink White intervened, trapping her. Under pressure, Chu Qianlan finally confessed her real-life identity as Yan Shengkai, admitting she had always loved Han Jingmo.
She revealed she had discovered his game account long ago and used the Time Flies Flower Blooms name to approach him in the game. Unmoved by her confession, Han Jingmo, as Ink White, told her plainly that he would never have loved her, even without Chu He, especially since he had already found Chu He. He warned Yan Shengkai he would kill her every time he saw her in the game, before executing her in a swift move.
The exposure of Yan Shengkai's actions quickly went viral on social media, leading to widespread cyberbullying. Young Master of the Tang Sect, having recovered from the betrayal, initiated a video call with Han Jingmo and Lu Wanwan. During the call, he expressed his astonishment upon realizing that Ink White was none other than Han Jingmo, and Chu He was Lu Wanwan, declaring that he never expected them to be real-life superstars.
As the group conversed, they noticed "Top Star of Lu" was absent. Lu Wanwan urged him to join the call. Lu Guanghan, taking his time, underwent an elaborate grooming session, insisting on looking his best for the meeting. When he finally joined, Young Master was taken aback by Lu Guanghan's handsome appearance, jokingly remarking that he was "over handsome" and should be called "Top Star of Brother Lu."
However, shortly after Lu Guanghan joined, Gu Qiaobei, who had been on the call, abruptly went offline and blocked Lu Guanghan. Gu Qiaobei was heard angrily vowing to "kill" Lu Guanghan, and then furiously demanded Han Jingmo and Lu Wanwan answer his calls, making it clear he was upset with all three. To avoid his wrath, Lu Wanwan suggested to Han Jingmo that they discreetly leave.
On a film set, Lu Wanwan found Jiang Mingshu and spoke with her privately about Han Jingmo. She explained that despite Han Jingmo appearing cold, he secretly cherished her, watching her films repeatedly and collecting all her movie discs. Lu Wanwan recounted how Han Jingmo would silently observe from a corner while others greeted Jiang Mingshu, intently reviewing old news articles about her.
Lu Wanwan stressed that Han Jingmo had done nothing wrong and that Jiang Mingshu's past actions had been unfair and heartless towards him. She implied that Jiang Mingshu knew why Han Jingmo struggled with their scene that day. Lu Wanwan also mentioned Han Jingmo's rare blood type and his previous blood donation to a teenager, revealing her strong belief that this boy was Jiang Mingshu's other son. Jiang Mingshu's reaction suggested this was indeed true.
Lu Wanwan concluded by emphasizing how much Han Jingmo had sacrificed for her and her family, stating that even if Jiang Mingshu did not care for him, she did, and she hoped Jiang Mingshu would stop causing him distress. Later, Jiang Mingshu approached Han Jingmo and placed a fruit-flavored candy in his hand. She reminisced about the day she left, when he, as a small boy, had given her a candy of the very same flavor. She revealed that she had continued to eat that specific type of candy ever since. Han Jingmo acknowledged the memory, confirming it was still his favorite flavor.
Episode 24 (Ending) Recap
Picking up from their last encounter, Jiang Mingshu gave Han Jingmo a fruit candy, the same flavor he had given her when he left, which she had eaten all these years. This gesture subtly marked a new phase in their relationship. During a rehearsal, Jiang Mingshu nearly lost her balance but was caught by Han Jingmo.
Holding his hand, she confessed her shortcomings as a mother, admitting she had been incompetent and had hurt him by neglecting his feelings in favor of her current family. Seeing his successful career now, she felt some of her guilt ease. She then apologized and they decided to re-do the scene. Though Han Jingmo initially seemed nervous, he assured the director he was ready.
When they reenacted the scene, an embrace that was both part of the script and a genuine expression of their emotions, both mother and son shed tears. After the rehearsal, Jiang Mingshu acknowledged Lu Wanwan as Han Jingmo's future partner, remarking that her prospective daughter-in-law was not easy to deal with and inviting the couple to visit her home. As Jiang Mingshu prepared to leave, Lu Wanwan, initially calling her "Auntie," then spontaneously called her "Mom."
Han Jingmo playfully teased Lu Wanwan about being eager to rush into marriage, which Lu Wanwan denied. Han Jingmo then sincerely thanked Lu Wanwan for all she had done for him, but Lu Wanwan brushed it off, stating it was normal between them. She then suggested they all go to dinner with her brother and Gu Qiaobei.
At dinner, Gu Qiaobei was visibly upset, confronting Han Jingmo for keeping secrets from him, accusing him of valuing love over friendship, and lamenting that he felt like the only "fool" left in the dark. Lu Guanghan, trying to calm the situation, explained that while he had indeed told Gu Qiaobei in the game that he was a man, he hadn't revealed his identity as Lu Guanghan, and Gu Qiaobei hadn't revealed his as Gu Qiaobei either.
Ultimately, Gu Qiaobei admitted it was his fault and offered to drink three cups as an apology. Lu Wanwan intervened, suggesting one cup was sufficient, then poured him a generous glass, which he drained in one gulp, signifying a truce. Later, Han Jingmo expressed his profound gratitude to Lu Wanwan for something that happened five years prior.
He recalled a trip to M Nation where he, isolated and feeling abandoned by his mother, watched other families, and was cornered by two men attempting to rob him. Suddenly, Lu Wanwan, wearing a lion head costume, appeared, startled his attackers away, and even took him street dancing. Despite his attempts to send her off, she insisted she had helped him and made him remember her name, "Lu Wanwan."
Lu Wanwan, however, could not recall the incident at all, noting she was a known "street bully" back then, often getting into fights and performing "righteous deeds." Han Jingmo then revealed that he had recognized her voice from their very first meeting, long before she knew him. Lu Wanwan was shocked and frustrated, realizing he had known her identity all along, even in the game. Gu Qiaobei then came to Lu Guanghan to say goodbye.
He informed Lu Guanghan that he had signed his termination contract and decided to pursue a long-held dream of studying directing. Lu Guanghan fully supported his decision. Gu Qiaobei thanked him, confirming that their past misunderstandings were behind them. Six months later, as Lu Wanwan prepared to go watch a movie, Lu Guanghan insisted on joining her.
Lu Wanwan teased him, saying she was going with Han Jingmo to see their new film, "Tit-for-tat", and challenged Lu Guanghan to buy out a hundred screenings for her if he wanted to contribute to the box office. He playfully agreed, calling her "my sister." Just as Lu Wanwan left, Xia Linxi arrived at Lu Guanghan's door, having already bought movie tickets for them. They shared a warm embrace, Xia Linxi kissed his cheek, and the door closed.
Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo enjoyed their film, "Tit-for-tat", in the cinema. As they watched the film's emotional scenes, they unconsciously held each other's hands. Han Jingmo made a lighthearted comment about his "first kiss" on screen, while Lu Wanwan joked that watching it together felt like they were "stealing an affair." They overheard other moviegoers praising Han Jingmo's acting, noting his performance was "not inferior to that of Jiang Mingshu" and seemed "effortless."
Afterward, they discussed the nuances of acting for film versus television. Han Jingmo also encouraged Lu Wanwan, mentioning that she had been nominated for "Best New Actress." Han Jingmo then took Lu Wanwan to a special place, telling her he had been "plotting" this for a long time.
He revealed an even earlier childhood encounter: when he was a small boy, bullied and called "mute" by other children, young Lu Wanwan had bravely intervened, shouting at his tormentors and scaring them away. She then scolded him for not thanking her and boldly announced her name, "Lu Wanwan." Lu Wanwan again could not remember this, explaining her childhood was filled with frequent fights.
Han Jingmo then knelt and declared his love for her, asking her to marry him and spend the rest of her life with him. He confessed he had been preparing for this day for a very long time, including renovating a villa and buying a large diamond ring, all for her. Lu Wanwan happily accepted.
She then teased him, asking if he was poor now after all his expenses and playfully suggested she could "take care of him openly" and even for him to "serve her tonight." Han Jingmo asked when he could "serve her legally," to which Lu Wanwan replied, "today's the day," and they immediately headed to the marriage registration office to legally solemnize their union.
After they privately announced their marriage on social media, their friends reacted with a mixture of disbelief and excitement. Many commented that it was "too sudden," with some jokingly suggesting the photo must be "retouched." Gu Qiaobei, in particular, voiced his "protest" as a "single dog." Others offered their congratulations, and Guan Yiwei remarked on Han Jingmo's swift actions. Lu Wanwan was delighted by the flurry of reactions.
Later, at an international film festival, Lu Wanwan and Han Jingmo walked the red carpet. When asked by a reporter if their relationship began during their collaboration on "Tit-for-tat", Han Jingmo candidly admitted that he "had a crush on her" even "before we worked together." He subtly avoided confirming their marriage news, redirecting the focus to the film festival itself.
During the awards ceremony, Guan Yiwei, serving as a presenter, announced Han Jingmo as the winner of the Best Actor award for his performance in "Tit-for-tat". Later, Lu Guanghan, as the President of Ying Ge, took the stage to present the Best New Actress award. With visible pride, he announced Lu Wanwan as the deserving winner, affectionately declaring, "That's my sister."
Accepting her award, Lu Wanwan stood on stage and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Han Jingmo for his constant companionship and for remembering her since their childhood. Four years later, Han Jingmo and Lu Wanwan had a pair of adorable twin daughters. One day, their young daughter attempted to fish in a pond, prompting Lu Wanwan to scold her.
Han Jingmo intervened gently, and their daughter explained she was trying to catch fish because her "Mommy said she wanted to eat fish." Han Jingmo reminded her about the dangers of the pond. He then commented that their daughter was a "mini version" of Lu Wanwan, jokingly asking if she would grow up to "fight for some handsome guy." Their daughter then asked if she could learn martial arts, to which Lu Wanwan happily agreed.
