Noticing Xia Rui studying books about Italy, Nan Xi worried she was sacrificing her dream of going abroad for his sake. Xia Rui reassured him, recalling how his past decision to stay in China after high school had been the right one, as it led to her entering the World Barista Competition. Believing this new challenge was similar, she declared her resolve to face the plagiarism issue head-on so they could fulfill their shared dream of going to Italy.
Strengthened by her conviction, Nan Xi agreed, feeling they could overcome anything together. Xia Rui, Nan Xi, Cheng Erluo, and Zhao Yishu gathered to formulate a plan. Xia Rui proposed a two-pronged approach: first, contact the magazine for the contributor's information, with Si Bo's help, to prove there was no connection between the parties. Second, find Nan Xi's original design files to establish that his work predated the magazine's publication.
The group divided the tasks, with Nan Xi searching for his original design while Cheng Erluo and Zhao Yishu handled communication with the magazine. As Zhao Yishu drafted an email, Cheng Erluo grew emotional over the magazine's weak response. Zhao Yishu calmly explained their strategy: by pursuing the matter, they would also highlight the organizer's negligence in publishing a work without verifying its originality.
Cheng Erluo then shifted the topic, trying to mend things with Zhao Yishu by inviting her to his first-ever CUBA league debut match. Despite her noncommittal reply, he insisted he would save her a VIP seat. Meanwhile, students gossiped relentlessly about Nan Xi's alleged plagiarism, comparing him unfavorably to the second-place winner, Gao Ting. Hao Tian and Panghu's attempts to defend Nan Xi online proved futile.
Overwhelmed in class, Nan Xi instinctively tried to retreat under his hat, but Xia Rui gently placed headphones on his ears, offering him a moment of peace and silently reaffirming her unwavering support. Later, Cheng Erluo lamented to Nan Xi and Xia Rui about Zhao Yishu’s continued coldness. They promised to attend his game to cheer him on, but he remained anxious about her absence.
Elsewhere, Hao Tian was compiling a post to defend Nan Xi when Cheng Erluo playfully snatched his phone, discovering Hao Tian's private account filled with photos of Nan Xi. Among them was a crucial picture showing Nan Xi working on his design, with a clearly visible timestamp on the computer screen, providing the perfect evidence. They immediately presented the photo to Professor Gu.
After reviewing the evidence, he confirmed it proved Nan Xi's innocence and promised to report it to the school administration, assuring them the award ceremony would be reorganized and Nan Xi's academic standing would be unaffected. They also decided to forward the photo to the magazine. Despite this victory, Cheng Erluo’s personal life remained fraught. He again confronted Zhao Yishu, confessing he only started playing basketball because of her.
She remained firm, stating she did not like basketball and had decided to move on from their past. During his debut match, Cheng Erluo suffered a leg injury. Zhao Yishu received an urgent call and rushed to the hospital. Seeing him injured, she was flooded with childhood memories of encouraging "Chubby Cheng" to play basketball and making a pinky promise to always support him.
At his bedside, Cheng Erluo expressed his regret for not realizing her importance sooner and his wish to have won the game for her. Nan Xi, however, no longer cared about the plagiarist's identity and considered the matter resolved.
