As the Binhai University independent enrollment exam approached, Nan Xi was surprised when Xia Rui arrived with breakfast. She gave him her whale necklace, telling him to take it as if she were by his side, which eased his nerves. Cheng Erluo, who was supposed to take Nan Xi to the exam, arrived, expressing annoyance at Xia Rui's presence. Claiming she was on her way to her own exam, Xia Rui left.

Outside the exam hall, Professor Gu Siming, Deputy Dean of the Architecture College, noticed the necklace and complimented its design, leaving him with a positive impression. With the necklace as a source of comfort, Nan Xi felt at ease and performed well in his exam. Meanwhile, Xia Rui was taking her art exam for broadcast hosting.

Although she started her poem recitation confidently, she became increasingly nervous, repeating lines and eventually forgetting them entirely, leading the examiners to cut her performance short. Distraught, Xia Rui hid in a restroom, where she spoke to herself in the mirror, trying to steel her emotions and forcing a smile so that Nan Xi wouldn't see her upset and worry about her.

Back at school, students buzzed about Nan Xi’s excellent performance and Professor Gu's favorable impression, which seemed to guarantee his admission to Binhai University. With her art exam being her only alternative path, Xia Rui began studying for the college entrance examination with an intensity that surprised even Cheng Erluo, who joked that she was "possessed by a savant."

When the art exam results were distributed, Xia Rui was the only one in their group who didn't receive an acceptance letter. She tried to downplay her disappointment, claiming the exam was just a trial run. Upon learning of Xia Rui's failure, Nan Xi decisively discarded his own pre-admission letter, declaring to Xia Rui, "I will go wherever you go."

Worried that her failure would hinder Nan Xi’s path, Xia Rui was reassured by Zhao Yishu and Cheng Erluo, who reminded her that her grades had improved significantly and she still had a chance with the main college entrance exam. In response, the friends formed a support system: Nan Xi took charge of her academic studies, Cheng Erluo was responsible for her physical conditioning, and Zhao Yishu oversaw her emotional stability.

Cheng Erluo and Zhao Yishu also pledged their unwavering support, promising to accompany her no matter how difficult the path to Binhai became. Later, Nan Xi invited Xia Rui to the coffee shop where he worked. As a reward for her progress on the first model exam, he personally made her a coffee with latte art.

At the cafe with their friends, Xia Rui confessed her deeper fears of growing up and losing her friends, her fearlessness, and even Nan Xi himself. Nan Xi comforted her, promising he wouldn’t lose her again and telling her she was his "destination," not a burden. Emboldened by their support, Xia Rui resolved to study even harder. Nan Xi explained that the latte art was his "return" for the courage her necklace had given him.

Boss Yi then appeared and gave Nan Xi a gift of premium coffee to help him prepare for his own exams. In class, Mr. Hu reviewed the second model exam results. He praised Nan Xi, Lin Xiaoxiao, and Zhao Yishu for their excellent performances, and commended Xia Rui for improving her grade ranking by 73 places. Seeing many students disheartened by their own scores, Cheng Erluo suggested watching comedy movies to relieve stress.

Mr. Hu rejected the idea but promised a Sunday outing if the class behaved well. On Sunday, Mr. Hu led the students on a mountain climb, choosing a difficult, winding path instead of the main road, to the students' dismay. During the hike, Cheng Erluo offered to piggyback a tired Zhao Yishu. Xia Rui jokingly asked why he didn’t offer to carry her, and he playfully refused, saying Nan Xi should do it.

Nan Xi immediately offered, but Xia Rui declined. Mr. Hu quickly intervened, prohibiting piggybacking on the dangerous terrain. Later, Nan Xi confronted Xia Rui about her joke, making her promise that only he could piggyback her. After she clarified that close family didn't count as "outsiders," she agreed, and he added that she was also not allowed to piggyback others.

Finally, at the summit, Mr. Hu explained that he chose the rugged trail so they could experience how overcoming hardship makes achieving a goal more meaningful. He connected this lesson to their exam results, assuring them he wasn't disappointed as long as they didn’t give up on themselves. Moved by his words, the students shed tears. As the sun set, Mr. Hu encouraged them to shout out their dream universities, and together, they ended the day by yelling, "I know, spring is ours!"
