In 2012, immediately after Lei Chuxia vanishes, a horrified Qin Yue confronts Wei Xuanhe, demanding to know if he truly doesn't care whether Chuxia lives or dies. Wei Xuanhe, feeling victorious, coldly states that Chuxia's fate is between her and the universe, and that he was merely putting things back on their proper course since she never belonged in their world. He shamelessly insists that everything he did was for the two of them, to secure their future together.
Meanwhile, Xu Xiaodong rushes to Professor Chen Mo's 415 lab, where Yuan Yuan and Jin Xiaorui are already waiting with a computer equipped with a tracking system designed specifically to find Chuxia. Their efforts are futile, as they soon discover that Wang Yixin has cleared out his hideout, taking all the machine's components with him. They realize that finding Wang Yixin is the only way to save Chuxia. Their spirits are low until Shen Weiwei arrives.
After Yuan Yuan explains the situation, Shen Weiwei encourages them not to lose hope, giving a heartfelt speech about her belief that love can transcend the boundaries of time and space, and that if they hold on to that love, Chuxia will surely return to them. Back in 2011, on the night before the press conference, Lei Chuxia finds herself at the dinner table with her parents.
She asks them what they would do if they faced a situation where the outcome seemed unchangeable. Her parents advise her to persevere, as one never knows what can happen until the very end, and that acting is important to avoid future regrets. During the meal, her father mentions receiving a strange phone call from a woman looking for an "Old Fairy Lady," claiming her nephew had run away.
Realizing this is Shen Weiwei looking for her to help a young Xu Xiaodong, Chuxia immediately runs out. She finds a distraught Xiaodong on a swing set in a nearby park and comforts him, telling him that when you miss someone, you should look at the moon, because it is constant and the person you miss is likely looking at the same moon.
In 2012, the older Xu Xiaodong sits on the very same swing set, gazing at the moon and longing for the now-vanished Chuxia. The next day, November 18th, 2011, Chuxia goes to the Piggy Tech new system press conference, determined to stop Wei Xuanhe. She is denied entry without an invitation.
Inside, Xuanhe finalizes his deal with Zhao Yaoyang, who smugly mentions that they owe their success to Gu Xiaoqi, who not only cleverly stole the complete patent but also lured Xu Weiyi away, all for her unrequited love for Xuanhe. Chuxia finally manages to confront Xuanhe and begs him to call off the conference and abandon his scheme.
He pulls her into a private room and confesses, justifying his plagiarism by explaining that his own company was failing and he couldn't stand being a disappointment to his family. When Chuxia asks if he has changed or if she simply never knew the real him, and warns him that happiness cannot be built on the suffering of others, he dismisses her pleas and locks her in the room. By the time Chuxia escapes, the press conference is underway.
She watches in horror as Xu Weiyi storms the stage to accuse Piggy Tech of plagiarism, only to be publicly humiliated when Zhao Yaoyang presents a legally binding patent that predates his own. Crushed, Xu Weiyi learns his own patent application has been rejected and is immediately swarmed by the media. Having failed to change the past, Chuxia leaves the venue and finds a devastated Xu Xiaodong in the snow.
She encourages him, telling him to never lose the courage to face adversity and that someone, somewhere, is fighting for him. She insists that it's not over and that they can still change everything. In 2012, Qin Yue, now fully aware of the truth, confronts Wei Xuanhe again at his Cyber Tech office. She tells him she finally understands how different they are; while she is ambitious, she would never build her success on another's pain.
She questions if she was wrong about him or if she ever truly knew him at all. Her words stun Xuanhe, as they are nearly identical to what Lei Chuxia had told him ten years prior. Filled with remorse, Qin Yue goes to the lab and apologizes to Xu Xiaodong, explaining she was also deceived. Xiaodong reassures her, saying that by giving Chuxia the bracelet, she likely saved her from greater danger.
To make amends, Qin Yue offers a plan: she can use Xuanhe's name to lure Wang Yixin out of hiding. The plan works. With Qin Yue's help, Xu Xiaodong, Jin Xiaorui, and Yuan Yuan track down and corner Wang Yixin. They demand he hand over the machine, but he informs them that it is broken and only he can repair it.
He agrees to help on one condition: he must be allowed to return to the 415 lab to continue his research. Left with no other choice, Xu Xiaodong agrees. However, Wang Yixin offers a final, chilling warning, telling them not to get their hopes up, as he cannot guarantee that Lei Chuxia can be brought back.
