Ruan Dongsheng announced his decision to move out of the apartment he shared next to Eva, opting to return to his villa. His assistants, Ni Hao and Yiren, were surprised. Ni Hao asked if Ruan Dongsheng was having trouble with his neighbors, offering to step in, but Ruan Dongsheng dismissed the idea, stating he simply didn't wish to live there.
Yiren tried to dissuade him, reminding him that his "love relationship" with Eva was beneficial for the company’s image and its entry into the domestic market. Ruan Dongsheng retorted that he ran a food company, not an entertainment business, and refused to let his personal life be a marketing tool, stating he would bear any financial losses. Despite their pleas, he was resolute, giving Yiren only half a month to handle the move.
Later, Yiren told Ni Hao she would try to delay him, hoping he would change his mind, though Ni Hao remained skeptical. Meanwhile, a heartbroken Eva was drowning her sorrows in mineral water. He then agreed to attend the World Angel 30th-anniversary celebration with Eva as his partner, as long as the contract was still valid. Upon hearing the news from Xiao Nan, Eva was secretly thrilled about the prestigious event, immediately planning a strict diet and exercise regime to "shine brightly." However, when speaking to her assistant, she feigned indifference, comparing the partnership to "walking with a dog."
At the banquet, Eva, despite her inner turmoil, linked arms with Ruan Dongsheng for the media, presenting a united front. The moment they were out of public view, she released his arm. When Ruan Dongsheng questioned her acting, she confessed that she "used to like" him, confirming it was true but meaningless now. She asserted that she no longer cared about his past feelings or affections, vowing to fulfill her contractual duties and expecting him to do the same.
Ruan Dongsheng, observing her, grew concerned and asked Yiren about Eva's well-being. Yiren revealed that Eva had starved herself for days to fit her dress, fearing she might faint. Seeing his concern, Yiren inwardly remarked that Ruan Dongsheng clearly liked Eva but wouldn't admit it. Ruan Dongsheng, expressing concern for Eva's health and the company's image, personally prepared a meal and asked Yiren to deliver it. Yiren then encountered Xiao Nan, who jokingly asked if she was still avoiding him.
Yiren clarified that Ruan Dongsheng had agreed to continue the contract and demanded Xiao Nan delete a video he held over her. Xiao Nan claimed he had already deleted it due to limited phone memory. He then asked Yiren to add him on WeChat, but she refused, saying her friend list was full and she didn't add "unimportant" people. Xiao Nan was offended, but Yiren calmly explained her "robot-like" professional attitude, stating she only obeyed her boss.
Having other duties, Yiren entrusted the meal to a waiter, emphasizing it was specially prepared by "Qing's President" for Eva. Rebecca, overhearing this, deliberately tripped the waiter, spilling the food. The waiter, however, still presented the remaining food to Eva, confirming it was from Ruan Dongsheng, which Eva eagerly ate, believing it was lovingly prepared.
Later, as Eva was about to give a speech on stage, she suddenly felt unwell and rushed out, experiencing the familiar sensation of transforming back into Zhen Yuanyuan. Ruan Dongsheng followed her. Zhen Yuanyuan stumbled into a restroom, accidentally knocking out a passerby. In a desperate attempt to escape, she swapped clothes with the unconscious person. Zhen Yuanyuan accused him of lying, questioning why he would have given her letter to the principal, embarrassed her in front of the school, and trampled on her dignity if he truly liked her. Ruan Dongsheng insisted it wasn't as she believed. He revealed that it was his mother who had found her love letter and taken it to the principal to keep her away from him, asserting that such a "fattie girl" was unworthy of their family.
He then detailed how he searched for her after recovering from his own illness, only to find she had transferred schools. To prove his sincerity, Ruan Dongsheng kissed Zhen Yuanyuan, and they both fell from the rooftop, embracing. Zhen Yuanyuan awoke in the hospital and immediately wanted to see Ruan Dongsheng. He intervened, confiscating Yiren's phone and threatening to reveal her private medical records, specifically mentioning her "haemorrhoids," if she didn't cooperate. Yiren, enraged, threatened to kill him if he exposed her condition, but Xiao Nan only promised to return the phone when she calmed down, effectively diverting her. Meanwhile, Zhen Yuanyuan apologized to Ruan Dongsheng. Soon after, Ruan Dongsheng's mother arrived, prompting Zhen Yuanyuan to hide in the bathroom.
She overheard Ruan Dongsheng arguing with his mother, who was trying to convince him to take over her business. His mother doubled down on her past actions, stating she had no regrets about driving away the "lowly fat girl" because she wasn't worthy of their family, claiming love wasn't the most important thing for their family. These words deeply hurt Zhen Yuanyuan. Ruan Dongsheng, angered by his mother's comments, sent her away.
He then went to Zhen Yuanyuan's room, only to find she had already left, leaving him bewildered by her continued hatred. Ni Hao brought him medicine, and as Ruan Dongsheng took it, he suddenly realized his sense of taste had returned, filling him with immense excitement.
