After Zhen Yuanyuan rejected Ruan Dongsheng's proposal, she tearfully left the scene. Ruan Dongsheng chased after her, but could only watch as she got into a taxi and drove away. He tried calling her multiple times, but she didn't answer, leading him to believe something serious must have happened. Shortly after, Ruan Dongsheng received a phone call from Uncle Gu, who revealed there was something important about Yuanyuan that Ruan Dongsheng might not know.

The next morning, a distraught Ruan Dongsheng was still determined to find Yuanyuan. Xiao Nan and Yiren tried to persuade him to eat breakfast and rest, emphasizing that he was wasting energy wandering without a clue. Yiren mentioned that Ni Hao was already investigating and they expected to find Yuanyuan soon. Ruan Dongsheng, however, insisted he had to search every possible place. As his frantic search continued, Xiao Nan expressed his worry, feeling anxious seeing Ruan Dongsheng's state.

Yiren suggested they call the police. Soon after, Ni Hao called Xiao Nan to inform him that he had located Yuanyuan. Yuanyuan, meanwhile, was visiting places that held special memories for her and Ruan Dongsheng. Ruan Dongsheng eventually found her at the beach, crying. He rushed to embrace her. Yuanyuan tearfully apologized, convinced that she was responsible for the explosion that killed Ruan Dongsheng's father and Ni Hao's father, and for Ruan Dongsheng losing his sense of taste.

She called herself a sinner who had brought unhappiness into his life. Ruan Dongsheng immediately reassured her, asserting that it was not her fault and Uncle Gu had been mistaken. He urged her to believe him, asking her to return with him so he could explain everything. To clarify the truth about the explosion and prevent his mother, Chairman Wu, from using it to interfere with his relationship with Yuanyuan, Ruan Dongsheng brought Yuanyuan to his mother's house.

He directly told Chairman Wu his intentions. Chairman Wu questioned his motives, and when Yuanyuan tried to interject, Ruan Dongsheng stopped her. He explained that his investigation proved neither Ni Hao's father nor Yuanyuan were the direct cause of the tragedy. Chairman Wu claimed that even if Yuanyuan had been involved, it was in the past, and she had no intention of pursuing it. She then asked if revealing the truth would truly comfort Ruan Dongsheng.

Ruan Dongsheng then clarified that Uncle Gu had only witnessed a partial truth. In a flashback, a young, hungry Yuanyuan was seen asking Uncle Gu to cook for her. Uncle Gu was then called away by a neighbor, who informed him his mother was arguing at the market. Rushing off, Uncle Gu strictly warned Yuanyuan not to enter the kitchen. Yuanyuan waited patiently outside until young Ruan Dongsheng returned from school. Seeing her hunger, he decided to cook for her.

They entered the kitchen together, and Yuanyuan attempted to open the gas valve, but Ruan Dongsheng quickly noticed and turned it off. After they ate the meal Ruan Dongsheng prepared, he explained that Uncle Gu had only seen Yuanyuan turn on the gas, not him turning it off. Chairman Wu and Yuanyuan, still confused, pointed out that the official report stated the explosion was caused by an open gas valve and someone unconsciously lighting a fire.

If it wasn't Yuanyuan, they wondered, then who was it? Ruan Dongsheng then revealed the devastating truth: his own father was responsible. His father, overwhelmed by severe debt problems with his restaurant, had chosen this irresponsible method to end his life, a discovery Ruan Dongsheng made in his father's diary. Chairman Wu refused to believe it, cursing her husband for his actions. Ruan Dongsheng countered, accusing his mother of being responsible for his father's death.

He recounted how his father had come to her for financial help just days before the accident, bringing young Ruan Dongsheng with him, but she had refused. He demanded to know if money was more important to her than her husband and son. Chairman Wu tried to explain, claiming she only learned about the debt after his death and had not known about his visit.

Ruan Dongsheng cut her off, stating he had overestimated her honesty and accusing her of denying responsibility. As Chairman Wu broke down in tears, insisting it wasn't what he thought, she experienced a sudden health crisis. Yuanyuan quickly followed Ruan Dongsheng, who had stormed out. She embraced him, comforting him and urging him not to hurt himself. Ruan Dongsheng expressed the immense relief of finally sharing the secret he had carried for over twenty years.

He reflected on his mother, saying she hadn't always been so materialistic. He recalled a time when, despite their poverty, they were happy. He explained that after she opened Wutong Hotel, their home became filled with arguments, and she persuaded his father to abandon his dreams to support her business. He concluded that after his father's death, his mother became even more obsessed with money, valuing it above all else. He wondered if he was wrong for revealing this truth.

Yuanyuan reassured him that he was not wrong, acknowledging the immense burden of keeping such a secret for so long. She asked him to promise not to harm himself and vowed to always stand by him. Ruan Dongsheng then asked her to make one promise: never to leave him. Yuanyuan, in turn, swore she would never leave Ruan Dongsheng. To further assure him, she suggested they sign a "life-long contract."

They then went to the Civil Affairs Bureau and officially registered their marriage, with Ruan Dongsheng carrying his new bride home. Soon after, Yuanyuan's fashion brand store officially opened. At the launch event, Yuanyuan expressed her gratitude to the media, her colleagues in fashion, and especially Jason Wang, her benefactor, for helping her realize her dream and guiding her transition from model to designer.

She then thanked her friends and family, and finally, Ruan Dongsheng, acknowledging his pivotal role in making her a more complete person. Yuanyuan then publicly announced that she and Ruan Dongsheng had officially registered their marriage two days prior and that their wedding would be held soon, asking everyone to call her "Mrs. Ruan" from then on.

Xiao Nan was visibly angered by the announcement, expressing his frustration that he, her brother, had to learn about her marriage from a public press conference. He confronted both of them for their lack of consideration and their public displays of affection. Yuanyuan playfully apologized, saying she was wrong for not informing him and "sister-in-law" (Yiren) beforehand. Ruan Dongsheng joined in, calling Xiao Nan "brother-in-law" and Yiren "sister-in-law," taking all the blame upon himself.

Yiren, embarrassed, quickly excused herself, but Xiao Nan, delighted by the "sister-in-law" title, insisted they weren't talking nonsense. Chairman Wu, clutching a photo and crying, drove distraughtly, muttering that things were not as Ruan Dongsheng perceived and that she was wrong. Distracted, she crashed her car and was hospitalized. Ruan Dongsheng and Yuanyuan immediately rushed to the hospital.

A doctor informed Ruan Dongsheng that Chairman Wu was in critical condition due to severe blood loss and required an urgent Type A blood transfusion, which was scarce in the blood bank. The doctor handed Ruan Dongsheng a necklace found on his mother.

Ruan Dongsheng recognized it as the cheap necklace his father had given his mother when they married, and he was surprised and moved that she had kept it all these years, realizing that she never truly abandoned him or his father in her heart. Xiao Nan and Yiren also arrived at the hospital. When asked for Type A blood, Ruan Dongsheng confirmed he was not.

Yuanyuan immediately offered, stating she was Type A blood, though the doctor noted she needed to weigh over fifty kilograms for the transfusion. Both Ruan Dongsheng and Xiao Nan were concerned about Yuanyuan's health, given her past condition. Yuanyuan, however, insisted, stating she couldn't stand by and do nothing while Ruan Dongsheng's mother was in danger.

She expressed her understanding of Ruan Dongsheng's love for his mother and her desire for their misunderstandings to be resolved, drawing a parallel to the ten years she and Ruan Dongsheng had lost due to their own misunderstandings. Ruan Dongsheng embraced her, and Yuanyuan successfully donated blood. Upon regaining consciousness, Chairman Wu apologized to Ruan Dongsheng, admitting she mistakenly believed career and money were paramount, only to realize she had lost her most precious family and relationships.

Ruan Dongsheng reassured her that she had never lost them, pointing to the necklace as proof that she had always carried his father and him in her heart. Chairman Wu then explained the full truth: his father had indeed visited her for help, but she was facing her own financial crisis at the time, evidenced by a debt collector calling her office during his visit.

Seeing her struggles, his father left without speaking, and she remained unaware of what happened to him until after his death. Ruan Dongsheng finally accepted her explanation and, for the first time, called her "Mom," bringing tears of joy to Chairman Wu's eyes. Yuanyuan woke up nearby, and Ruan Dongsheng tenderly held both her hand and his mother's.

Later, while getting massages, Yuanyuan complained to Yiren about not seeing Ruan Dongsheng for three days, a wedding tradition, and expressed her extreme hunger. Yiren urged her to be patient for just two more days until the wedding. Yuanyuan then drank what she thought was water, but it turned out to be fruit juice, a beverage that historically caused her to gain weight rapidly.

She immediately panicked about getting fat, prompting Yiren to shoo away the attendant and begin formulating an escape plan and searching for oversized clothes. However, Yuanyuan didn't gain any weight. She drank more juice, still with no effect. Yiren speculated that the blood donation to Chairman Wu and her recent period of not eating much might have altered her body, suggesting her condition was cured. Overjoyed, Yuanyuan celebrated her cure, and they both indulged in food freely.

Yuanyuan shared the good news with Ruan Dongsheng, who was equally delighted for her. On their wedding day, despite Yuanyuan's newfound ability to eat without gaining weight, her excessive indulgence almost prevented her from fitting into her wedding dress. The grand ceremony commenced with Jason Wang officiating, who expressed his happiness at witnessing their union. Yuanyuan gracefully walked down the aisle to Ruan Dongsheng.

They exchanged heartfelt vows, promising eternal love and devotion, whether in poverty or wealth, sickness or health, or if they were to become fat or thin, beautiful or not. Their vows sealed with a kiss, marking the beginning of their new life together.
