Zhen Yuanyuan, appearing in her true form, finally revealed her identity to Ruan Dongsheng. He was overjoyed, finally free from suspicion and no longer needing to play along with Eva’s pretense. Zhen Yuanyuan admitted she had been too cowardly to accept her past self and doubted he could ever truly like her. Ruan Dongsheng reassured her that she was the only one he had ever liked, past or present, and she finally believed him.
Zhen Yuanyuan then asked Ruan Dongsheng when he had discovered her secret. He recalled seeking out Rebecca's advice, who suggested he research a rare condition. Zhen Yuanyuan realized he had known for a while and had enjoyed watching her "acting like a fool." She teased him, accusing him of liking the control, but Ruan Dongsheng denied it, admitting his confusion over why she hadn't gained weight from his food.
Zhen Yuanyuan jokingly threatened to "eliminate" him from her life if he hadn't known her true identity. Ruan Dongsheng countered, saying he'd rather die than be without her, believing their meeting was fate. He playfully worried about her "huge stomach" making him "poor and bankrupt," to which she responded she'd haunt him in the afterlife for payment. Meanwhile, Xiao Nan slowly regained consciousness in the hospital, finding himself surrounded by people commenting on his condition.
Some suggested plastic surgery, others recommended a psychiatrist, believing he had a terminal illness and implying he was "perverted." Confused and panicking, Xiao Nan asked Yiren, who arrived with medicine, what was wrong. Yiren reassured him he did not have a terminal illness; he merely had three stitches from Gao Quan hitting his head. Xiao Nan quickly clarified he was a "straight boy" and Yiren urged him to the police station to make a report. Outside the police station, Yiren noted that public opinion had shifted to their side, with the misunderstanding about Qing Corporation resolved and everyone now knowing Gao Quan was the culprit. Xiao Nan lamented Gao Quan's escape, calling him a "bastard." Yiren advised him to rest his injured head. Xiao Nan then asked Yiren about her impression of his performance.
Yiren said he "did well" and thanked him on behalf of Qing Corporation. Xiao Nan pulled her close, emphasizing he wanted her personal opinion, not the company's. As he pressed her, asking if she would be his girlfriend, Yiren hesitated. Just as she was about to agree, Xiao Nan suddenly declared she had "won," admitting he had "lost" and could no longer pursue her.
He then revealed he had made a bet with Eva that if he couldn't win Yiren over, he'd have to call Eva his "Big Sister," asking Yiren to pretend to be his girlfriend for a short period. Realizing his previous advances were part of a bet, Yiren, enraged, slapped him and called him a "bastard." Immediately after, however, Xiao Nan declared his disapproval of their relationship, fearing they had become too intimate, and announced he would move in to "supervise" Ruan Dongsheng. Zhen Yuanyuan, believing the two men needed to talk things out, decided to give them space.
As she entered the elevator, a masked man, Gao Quan, joined her. Seeing a photo of Ruan Dongsheng and herself on his phone, she mistakenly thought he was a "stalking couple fan." She jokingly offered to get them autographs for a fee. Ruan Dongsheng then called her, and she showed his name on the phone to Gao Quan as proof of her connection.
Gao Quan suddenly grabbed her, held a knife to her throat, and threatened Ruan Dongsheng over the phone. Ruan Dongsheng rushed to the elevator and confronted Gao Quan. Gao Quan, whose businesses were sealed, accounts frozen, and with police pursuing him, was at his wit's end. He demanded Ruan Dongsheng kneel and apologize, threatening to kill Zhen Yuanyuan if he refused. Ruan Dongsheng pleaded with him, offering his own life if Zhen Yuanyuan was spared.
Gao Quan expressed surprise at Ruan Dongsheng's deep affection for "this fat girl." Enraged by the insult, Zhen Yuanyuan seized an opportunity, performed an over-the-shoulder throw on Gao Quan, and fiercely beat him while angrily retaliating against being called "fatty." News reports later confirmed Gao Quan's arrest for endangering public safety and his failed revenge attempt. Having resolved the Gao Quan issue, Xiao Nan met Ruan Dongsheng by the sea.
He formally entrusted Zhen Yuanyuan to Ruan Dongsheng, stating he had protected her for over a decade and would never forgive Ruan Dongsheng if he failed her. Ruan Dongsheng thanked Xiao Nan for his long-standing care and promised not to disappoint him. Ruan Dongsheng then, as Xiao Nan's "younger brother-in-law," playfully mocked Xiao Nan's single status. Offended, Xiao Nan later complained to Eva about Ruan Dongsheng's teasing.
Eva, finding it amusing, decided to help Xiao Nan "reach the peak of his life." Xiao Nan admitted that Yiren had slapped him because he revealed their bet, prompting Eva to scold him for such an "elementary mistake." Worried Yiren would now avoid him forever, Xiao Nan expressed his despair, and Eva reassured him, promising to help. Jason, acknowledging Eva's headstrong personality, agreed to reinstate her work from the next day, admitting he liked her unique trait. Jason also hinted at asking Xiao Nan to be a model for new products. Ruan Dongsheng, prioritizing his professional duties, told his assistant to fetch Eva while he went to see a shop. Ruan Dongsheng showed her a piece of candy, revealing it was the one she had given him during the explosion, which had given him "hope to stay alive." He emphasized that Zhen Yuanyuan, the restaurant, and the "Four Taste Of Life" were his "root of warmth," and he would cherish them. To help Ruan Dongsheng recover his sense of sourness, Zhen Yuanyuan kissed him again. They then went to a coffee shop where she ordered him a sugar-free lemon juice.
He drank it but felt no change. The shop owner, observing their affection, advised them to "let nature take its course" and commented they would "soon have a child." Zhen Yuanyuan tried to correct the misunderstanding, but Ruan Dongsheng embraced her, stating that even if they failed this time, they could "keep trying," and led her away.
