Hongning said she heard others say Jinxiu was going to marry the celestial maiden from the Northern Immortal Realm. Jinxiu replied that he had already turned it down. The Celestial Monarch had indeed mentioned it to him, but Jinxiu refused on the spot, saying there was no romantic love between him and the celestial maiden. Hongning said she was going back to cultivate, otherwise she would be too late.

Jinxiu said there were many deities moving about at the banquet right now, and if she went down now she might bump into them. He said he had to go first and would ask Officer Chrysanthemum to escort Hongning back later. Officer Chrysanthemum arrived, very frustrated, saying he was Jinxiu’s most capable subordinate—how could Jinxiu treat him like this? Officer Chrysanthemum begged Jinxiu, but Jinxiu left anyway, leaving him extremely upset. Hongning thanked Officer Chrysanthemum for the trouble.

Jinxiu came over and stopped Kunlun. Jinxiu told the Celestial Monarch that Kunlun had seen such a scene in the mortal realm as a blessing, which was why he did it. The Celestial Monarch didn’t say anything.

Officer Chrysanthemum was shocked when he heard from Hongning that Jinxiu had promised to make her his Divine Consort. He brought out some rare golden chrysanthemum honey to please Hongning. Hongning mentioned he still had lightning punishment to endure and asked when he would take the punishment again. Officer Chrysanthemum said there was no such punishment. He mentioned that most of the deities had already entered the venue, so it was a good time to escort Hongning down.

Hongning said she didn’t know how to fly, frustrating Officer Chrysanthemum. The Northern Immortal Realm sent someone to deliver Golden Lotus Dew to Middle Heaven. The general strongly opposed it, saying Golden Lotus Dew was their treasured item and couldn’t be given to Middle Heaven. The Northern Realm King said they were now weak and only by aligning with Middle Heaven could they develop better.

The general went to find Lu Yao and asked if she really wanted to marry Jinxiu, saying that if she didn’t, he could take her away. Lu Yao said her wish had always been to marry Jinxiu. As a celestial maiden, she should bear the responsibilities she was meant to and told the general not to speak recklessly. Bai Cha went to find Hongning and said he had recently heard rumors that Jinxiu was going to marry Lu Yao.

Hongning said she already knew and Jinxiu had said he refused. Bai Cha felt that even so, Jinxiu was a deity and Hongning was a demon—could they really be together? Hongning replied that Jinxiu had said she only needed to cultivate into a deity. Bai Cha had no choice but to leave. Hongning was about to undergo tribulation. Jinxiu taught her the method and said once she succeeded, he would personally register her as a deity.

Jinxiu originally wanted to stay and watch over Hongning, but the Celestial Monarch summoned him. When Jinxiu met the Celestial Monarch, he was told to marry Lu Yao. Jinxiu refused, saying that if Middle Heaven needed him, he would do anything—but not this. Hongning managed to survive her tribulation and went to the heavens, but instead of seeing Jinxiu, she saw Deity Apricot. Deity Apricot did not register her as a deity but instead sent her to deliver flower messages.

After finishing the task and becoming exhausted, Hongning went to the Withered Flower Garden. Jinxiu came to the Withered Flower Garden to find her and asked why she was there. Hongning said she believed Jinxiu would come for her. She said she felt like she would die today, and Jinxiu comforted her. Hongning asked about her deity registration, and Jinxiu said it was already done. Hongning wanted to become Divine Consort. Officer Chrysanthemum said it wasn’t that simple.

The current Divine Consorts, Xi He and Lu Yao, had noble backgrounds and immense merit. Hongning was just a lower immortal now. Hongning wasn’t discouraged and believed that she just needed to cultivate into a high immortal.
