In the villa's basement, police discovered two barely conscious survivors, identified by their features as Fan Hai Zhi and He Ai Wen, both in critical condition and in urgent need of medical assistance. Upon hearing the news, Bo Jinyan exchanged a grim look with Jian Yao, sensing the gravity of the situation. At the same time, Yin Ziqi, Bo Jinyan's older sister, frantically arrived at the scene, appearing anxious. Soon after, Xie Han contacted Bo Jinyan via the police.

Recognizing the call as the next step in Xie Han's twisted game, Bo Jinyan ordered everyone to evacuate the villa immediately, having realized there was a bomb. He then proceeded alone into the yard as instructed by Xie Han. Xie Han informed him that bombs were set on the third floor of both the main building and the side building, each bound to a person: Li Xunran in the main building and Lin Yiyang in the side building.

Bo Jinyan had three minutes to run to either room, which would take two minutes, and disable one of the bombs using only his right thumbprint. He could only save one person, and Xie Han eagerly pressed him to choose whom he would kill. Without hesitation, Bo Jinyan ran directly to the side building on the third floor, successfully disabling the bomb and saving Lin Yiyang.

Xie Han's voice erupted in fury over the phone, demanding to know why Bo Jinyan chose to save an addict, abandoning Li Xunran, a dedicated police officer with whom he had worked on three cases. Bo Jinyan calmly explained that he had seen through the trap from the beginning.

He deduced that Xie Han, as a perverted madman, intended to manipulate him into rushing to the main building, which would be empty, thus ensuring Lin Yiyang's bomb would detonate, causing Bo Jinyan to "kill" someone without saving anyone. Bo Jinyan concluded that Li Xunran was never in that room.

Upon realizing his plan was foiled, Xie Han's anger turned into exhilaration, declaring Bo Jinyan the only person in the world who truly understood him, and expressed his eagerness for Bo Jinyan to become his partner. Jian Yao was consumed by guilt, lamenting that if she had only understood the subtle message Li Xunran tried to send earlier, things might have been different. Bo Jinyan comforted her, assuring her that they would rescue Li Xunran eventually.

Xie Han, meanwhile, successfully escaped the police encirclement again and returned to his secret residence, intent on brainwashing Li Xunran to obey his commands. That evening, Fu Ziyu spoke with Bo Jinyan about Jian Yao. Bo Jinyan described Jian Yao as a very strong girl. Fu Ziyu commented on their unique connection, noting they had only spent a short time in the same city. This conversation sparked a realization in Bo Jinyan.

He deduced that Xie Han's seamless operations in Hong Kong pointed to a deeper network of connections, not merely relying on power gained through Lin Yiyang. He believed the key to uncovering Xie Han's identity still lay with Tommy. Acting on this new lead, Bo Jinyan requested Susan to re-investigate Tommy. Meanwhile, Xie Han, disguised as a fish store worker, located an old acquaintance named Uncle Cai at the docks.

Xie Han reminded Uncle Cai of a past incident where he assisted in a murder to retrieve diamonds by cutting open the victim, using this leverage to demand Uncle Cai help him leave Hong Kong within three days. As Bo Jinyan intensified the investigation into Tommy, recognizing the urgency if Xie Han attempted to leave Hong Kong, Xie Han also began hypnotizing Li Xunran, attempting to mold him into his "work of art."

Concurrently, Captain Liang received a report stating that Lin Yiyang's cellphone had been found on a mountain and had only made one call: to Yin Ziqi. Captain Liang did not overly doubt this report and encouraged his officers to spare no effort in searching every corner of Hong Kong to find the suspect and the missing victim.

Bo Jinyan found a crucial clue in a newspaper article detailing how Hong Kong police had solved a jewelry smuggling case involving animal carcasses. This immediately prompted him to re-interrogate Tommy. During the re-interrogation, Susan pressed Tommy, recalling that in 2009, while working at a freight dock, he had killed three jewelers. She then brought up a colleague who supposedly died accidentally, falling into the ocean, whose body was then transported to his hometown, Hong Kong.

Susan challenged Tommy, asserting that his colleague's death was no accident but rather a fourth murder, and the body was intentionally used to smuggle stolen jewelry. This time, Tommy failed to successfully hide his words and actions, revealing his true colors.
