Guan Qianya brought Jiang Kele to see the Newton's cradle Kele had given her. Qianya pointed out that while a real Newton's cradle would eventually stop, theirs continued to swing indefinitely, explaining that this was a bug indicating they were currently inside a game.
To prove her point, Qianya suggested that Kele find a familiar person and ask them something only the two of them would know, stating that only she and Kele were real people confined by Xu Guanghan, while others were NPCs. Still skeptical, Jiang Kele decided to test Qianya’s theory. She approached her colleague, Qiqi, and immediately noticed something was amiss.
Qiqi, who typically used the store's cosmetics, was now using her own and couldn't recall Jiang Kele's previous job at a convenience store, a detail Kele had specifically mentioned to her. Convinced by these discrepancies, Kele realized Qianya was right. Jiang Kele gathered the others and shared Guan Qianya's revelation about the game's malfunction. She assured them that Granny Fu Shun would soon arrive, and she would prove her claims.
When Granny Fu Shun appeared, Jiang Kele began asking her specific questions about Lu Xiao's deceased mother, such as her nursing home room number, her favorite pastime, and a vital item cremated with her. Granny Fu Shun failed to answer any of these questions correctly, confirming to everyone that they were indeed trapped within a game. Realizing the gravity of their situation, Lu Xiao immediately asked Guan Qianya how they could escape.
Guan Qianya informed them that the only way out was to "die" within the game. Without hesitation, the group resolved to escape, but first, they needed to retrieve Luo Ke and Su Lie from Bayhouse, where they had been staying. Upon finding them, the group explained their predicament.
However, Luo Ke and Su Lie were content in the game, enjoying the readily available food, drinks, and entertainment, and even feeling that Xu Guanghan had forgiven them and given them new jobs. They questioned why they should leave, as Su Lie noted he was no longer afraid of women in the game and dreaded readjusting to reality.
Guan Qianya warned them that continuing to stay would lead to their real-world vital signs dropping to zero, resulting in their actual deaths. Despite the urgency, Luo Ke and Su Lie remained unwilling to leave, forcing the others to resort to physical force to bring them along. The group, now including a reluctant Luo Ke and Su Lie, stood on a rooftop. Despite Secretary Cui's acrophobia, the decision was made to jump.
Guan Qianya reassured him, even offering to push him if he couldn't jump himself. Lu Xiao jumped first, followed by others, with Kele and Guan Qianya jumping last to ensure Luo Ke and Su Lie didn't escape. As the others woke up in the real world, in what appeared to be the data collection room, Secretary Cui remained unconscious.
Xu Nian began to express concern and prepared to go back for him, but Secretary Cui suddenly woke up, explaining he had gotten stuck in a tree and had to climb back up and jump again to fully awaken. With everyone now conscious, they quickly dispersed to find an exit. Meanwhile, Xu Guanghan confronted Granny Fu Shun, accusing her of betrayal and demanding to know where she had hidden Kele and Qianya.
Granny Fu Shun retorted, suggesting Xu Guanghan had already captured them, which was why she couldn't reach them. She urged him to reconsider his actions, but Xu Guanghan remained firm, stating his ideals had not yet been achieved and he would not stop. Granny Fu Shun managed to bribe her guard, who then disappeared, allowing her to escape. Sometime later, she appeared at the data collection room, rescuing the trapped group and urging them into a car.
Granny Fu Shun bravely stayed behind to cover their escape, allowing Zhang Yang to catch her instead. Zhang Yang later reported to Xu Guanghan that he had knocked Granny Fu Shun unconscious and she was now in a car, ready to be sent to Xu Guanghan's house. Xu Guanghan then instructed his assistant, Lei Na, to contact entertainment reporters.
Soon after, a news announcement on TV reported that Yao Inc. had issued an emergency statement claiming four men were impersonating characters from "Love Boys," falsely alleging confinement by Xu Guanghan to gain sympathy and money. This preemptive move by Xu Guanghan left the group feeling helpless, realizing they needed stronger evidence to expose him effectively. As they sought refuge, they discovered Zhang Yang's men guarding Guan Qianya's home, making it unsafe.
Jiang Kele decided to take Lu Xiao, Xu Nian, Luo Ke, and Su Lie to her favorite mala tang stall, where the owner, a regular customer of Kele's, welcomed them warmly. Kele then went to Qiqi’s place, hoping to borrow her apartment. Qiqi explained that she lived in a shared rental and couldn't accommodate so many people. However, she mentioned that Granny Fu Shun had left a parcel for Kele at the store.
Upon retrieving the parcel, Kele discovered it contained a map with a marked location. She deduced that Granny Fu Shun, anticipating their predicament, had left them a safe place to stay. Following the map, the group arrived at a secluded treehouse in a forest, realizing it was Granny Fu Shun's secret base. As they searched for clues, Jiang Kele found a piggy bank identical to one they had seen in Bayhouse. She inserted a coin, and a holographic projection of Granny Fu Shun materialized before them.
