Lingxi, realizing that Yunfeng was impersonating Jiuchen in Fuyun Hall, confronted him, questioning how he could allow Qingyao to suffer the pain of losing her loved one again. Yunfeng admitted that Jiuchen had ordered him to impersonate him across the Six Realms, intending to maintain peace and allow Lingxi to forget him. Returning to the Shanling Tribe, Lingxi went to the Spirit-Binding Abyss, lamenting Jiuchen's decision to leave her without explanation.
After writing a letter to State Preceptor Changting about the Shanling Tribe's affairs, Lingxi plunged into the Spirit-Binding Abyss. Jiuchen was shocked by her arrival, but Lingxi asserted their marriage contract bound them together. Unable to resist, Jiuchen embraced her. Observing from outside the Spirit-Binding Abyss, Jing Xiu, consumed by unrequited love and resentment, vowed to destroy everything Jiuchen and Lingxi sought to protect. Inside the abyss, Lingxi learned that the gates of the netherworld had not been successfully sealed.
Jiuchen reassured her that he would guard the gates indefinitely, but was concerned about her safety. Lingxi declared her intention to marry him there, and then knelt, proclaiming her vows. Jiuchen, touched, embraced her and pledged to join her in the vows. Qingyao, upon learning that Yunfeng was alive, rushed to the Heavenly Palace. She slapped him before demanding to know why he had lied to her and recounted her years of suffering. Yunfeng apologized and embraced her.
Shisan arrived at the Shanling Tribe seeking Lingxi, but was stopped by guards. Jing Xiu appeared, killing the guards and severely wounding Shisan. News of the Shanling Tribe reached the Heavenly Palace, and Yunfeng, Siming, God of Heavenly Thunder, and State Preceptor Changting were dispatched. Siming was distraught to find Shisan wounded. Jing Xiu confronted Jiuchen and Lingxi in the Spirit-Binding Abyss, proclaiming that evil desires are inherent in human hearts.
Jiuchen and Lingxi transformed into their true forms and battled him. During the battle, both Jiuchen and Lingxi were injured. Jing Xiu attempted to open the gates of the netherworld, but Jiuchen forced them both into the gates, commanding Lingxi to seal them. Lingxi, torn, tried to save him, but Jiuchen reminded her of his duty to protect the Six Realms and urged her to fulfill her own duty as State Master of the Shanling Tribe.
Lingxi, with tears, sealed the gates. Three hundred years later, Lingxi arrived at Fuyun Hall with her daughter, Nian'er. Huayan, a newly ascended immortal who didn't recognize Lingxi, questioned their presence. Lingxi explained that she was the wife of the hall's owner. Nian'er, wary of Huayan, was told that she was the head housekeeper of Fuyun Hall and a disciple of Great Daoist Master Bao Suozhu, which Lingxi immediately recognized as Zhu Zizai.
Lingxi instructed Huayan to guard the hall and told her where to find her if needed. It was Shisan's transformation ceremony. She had been gravely wounded in the battle with Jing Xiu and had spent three centuries cultivating in her merfolk pearl after being saved by Qingyao. Yunfeng, Qingyao, Chengyan, and Siming gathered, and Shisan successfully transformed into a female merman, though she had forgotten her past. After the ceremony, Lingxi and Nian'er returned to the Polar Abyss.
Nian'er expressed envy that Shisan had once been a male merfolk and said she wanted to be a boy so she could fight in battles. Lingxi assured her that girls could also fight and emphasized the importance of study and skill. Finding an Immortal knot outside, Lingxi searched for Jiuchen and found him holding Nian'er. Overjoyed, she ran to him and embraced him, their reunion marking the culmination of their love that had endured for three hundred years.
