Lingxi diligently cleaned Fuyun Hall while Shisan idly ate seeds nearby. As Lingxi wiped a table, she noticed a peculiar ornament and learned from Shisan that it was a totem of the Lieyi Tribe. Shisan explained that Lieyi was once a fierce general serving under Jiuchen, and their tribe's influence in the Heavenly Palace surpassed even that of the current Yuan Clan. However, Lieyi was eventually bewitched by demons, leading him to commit numerous murders before Jiuchen personally executed him.

The Heavenly Emperor then removed the immortal bones of Lieyi's tribesmen and exiled them to the Shanling Territory, forbidding them from ever returning to the Heavenly Race's lands. Jiuchen, cherishing old connections, had kept the totem. Lingxi expressed deep sympathy for their plight, openly disagreeing with the Heavenly Race's rule of punishing an entire family for the crime of one individual.

Meanwhile, Tianlei Zhenjun sought an audience with the Heavenly Emperor, formally requesting that the God of War's seal be reclaimed. He stated that since Jiuchen's return, his continued command of the seal and Heavenly Soldiers was unjustified. Tianlei had hoped this gesture would compel the Heavenly Emperor to give him a favorable concession.

However, to his surprise, the Heavenly Emperor readily agreed, not only instructing Tianlei to personally return the seal to Jiuchen but also emphasizing the importance of harmony between the two, stating that their peace would bring peace to all Six Realms. Tianlei Zhenjun left enraged by the unexpected turn of events, feeling forced to humble himself before Jiuchen.

His frustration was somewhat alleviated upon learning that most of Zhonghao's tribesmen had been captured by General Yuantong and War General Ziguang, with only Zhonghao escaping. Tianlei believed that if Jiuchen were to hear that the descendants of his former trusted general, Lieyi, had been slaughtered for rebellion, he would be unable to remain still, implying a scheme to further challenge Jiuchen's position.

In the Shanling Territory, State Preceptor Jing Xiu received a report from Chibi confirming the capture of all Lieyi tribesmen, except for Zhonghao, who was rescued by his assassins. Still uneasy about Zhonghao's escape, Jing Xiu ordered Chibi to continue the pursuit relentlessly, vowing to find him dead or alive.

Without informing the State Master, he then commanded that Zhonghao's captured tribesmen, who were no longer immortal beings, be sent to the Spirit-Binding Abyss—a place of dead spirits from which none return, ensuring their demise. Jiuchen summoned General Yuantong to discuss Zhonghao's tribe. He acknowledged Zhonghao's deserving fate for his rebellion and indiscriminate killing but argued that his tribesmen, many of whom were elderly, infirm, women, and children, were innocent and should not suffer for his crimes.

Jiuchen expressed the divine responsibility to uphold mercy for all living beings and entrusted Yuantong with a letter for Shanling State Master Ling Yue, requesting her leniency and promising to remember her favor. After Yuantong departed, Lingxi, who had been discreetly listening, emerged from her cleaning. She expressed admiration for General Yuantong's grace and asked Jiuchen if she could also become a Heavenly General.

Jiuchen promptly refused, citing her insufficient cultivation, dismissing her earlier remark about her beauty as a drunken exaggeration from her father, Le Bo. General Yuantong presented Jiuchen's letter to State Master Ling Yue, who was astonished to learn that Zhonghao's tribesmen had been captured, as she had received no prior report. Upon discovering they were being sent to the Spirit-Binding Abyss, Ling Yue immediately rushed to the location.

By the time she arrived, Jing Xiu's subordinate was already announcing the tribesmen's "crimes," and the priests had sealed their five senses, activating the formation, which, once started, could not be halted. As the formation commenced, Zhonghao's desperate tribesmen, facing certain death, made a solemn blood oath to the Demon Lord, offering their bodies as sacrifice for his return. Their spirits instantly transformed into black smoke, drifting into the abyss.

The seal of the Spirit-Binding Abyss began to vibrate violently, prompting Ling Yue and her attendants to swiftly employ their powers to suppress the demonic seal. Unbeknownst to Lingxi, who was cleaning Fuyun Hall, the Lieyi tribe totem on a nearby table began to emit an ominous red glow. Meanwhile, at Dark Capital Mountain, Zhonghao and his remaining assassins found themselves cornered by Heavenly soldiers. Suddenly, dozens of streaks of demonic aura appeared, swiftly annihilating their pursuers.

Zhonghao watched in disbelief as the demonic energy intensified, coalescing into a pulsating portal. From within, the Demon Lord's voice declared that there was no other escape, only he could save Zhonghao. Overwhelmed and without recourse, Zhonghao was consumed by the portal. At the very same moment, in Fuyun Hall, the Lieyi totem began to leak a stream of red, flowing sand. Drawn by curiosity, Lingxi reached out to examine it.

The moment her hand touched it, an inexplicable force drained the spiritual energy from her accompanying spiritual stone, causing a faint red circular mark to appear behind her right ear. Lingxi immediately collapsed, and the totem shattered into countless pieces. Miles away, Immortal Doctor Le Bo discovered his spiritual stone glowing intensely, realizing something dire had happened to Lingxi. He rushed towards the Heavenly Palace.

In the aftermath at the Spirit-Binding Abyss, State Master Ling Yue, having witnessed the horrific events, commanded Jing Xiu to release the remaining elderly, weak, women, and children of Zhonghao's tribe, a command he reluctantly obeyed. As Ling Yue prepared to leave, a resonant, ancient voice from the depths of the abyss called out her name. Jing Xiu, investigating the source, was stunned to discover Yuandu, who had long been presumed dead, alive at the bottom of the abyss.

Later, Lingxi awoke to find her father, Le Bo, and Senior Sister by her side. Le Bo adamantly insisted that Lingxi return home with him, but she stubbornly refused. The commotion drew Jiuchen's attention. Upon seeing him, Le Bo's demeanor turned cold as he accused Jiuchen of mistreating his daughter, treating her like a mere maidservant despite her noble background. Jiuchen, choosing not to engage in a lengthy argument, simply allowed Le Bo to do as he pleased.

At that moment, General Yuantong returned to report the grave developments at the Spirit-Binding Abyss, informing Jiuchen that Zhonghao's tribesmen had used their essence blood to conjure a spell, offering their souls to the Demon Lord, and had all transformed into vengeful spirits. Jiuchen's expression hardened, concerned about the stability of the demonic seal. Before anyone could fully process this, Tianlei Zhenjun arrived with his retinue.

He ceremoniously returned the God of War's seal to Jiuchen, insisting that Jiuchen immediately open it for verification. Jiuchen complied, only for Tianlei to produce War General Zhuxie's final report from the Dark Capital Mountain battle fifty thousand years prior. Tianlei challenged Jiuchen to activate the seal and open the report publicly, asserting that this would clarify the ancient war and prove Jiuchen's innocence.

Jiuchen easily opened the report but, after a brief glance, declared that he could not bear to witness the deaths of his comrades again and promptly threw the war report into a nearby brazier, burning it to ashes. Tianlei, having achieved his goal of provoking Jiuchen and creating a public incident, departed with a triumphant laugh. Immortal Lord Baishanxian immediately reported Jiuchen's actions to the Heavenly Emperor, who let out a weary sigh.

Subsequently, Tianlei Zhenjun himself reported to the Heavenly Emperor, who then had no choice but to convene a gathering of all Immortal Lords to deliberate on how to address Jiuchen's controversial actions.
