> Love and Destiny Recap

Upon Lin Mo's return home with her hearing fully restored, her grandmother is overcome with emotion. Tearfully, her grandmother apologizes for her past unkindness and bias due to Lin Mo's deafness, admitting her role in the separation between Lin Mo and her father. Lin Mo, holding no blame, reassures and embraces her. After checking her pulse, Lin Mo confirms her grandmother's illness is not severe, but rather caused by emotional distress.

Outside, Lin Zhan, usually aloof, questions Lin Mo about the man she returned with. Lin Zhan reveals that the Song Family had caused a public scene, damaging Lin Mo's reputation. Despite an initial pretense of indifference, Lin Zhan criticizes Young Lord Song, describing him as a hypocrite who previously showed no interest in the engagement, never visiting, and not caring when Lin Mo ran away, only to turn hostile now.

Lin Zhan concludes it was fortunate Lin Mo didn't marry him, and her underlying concern for Lin Mo is evident. Lin Shaohai rushes home, and Lin Mo tearfully embraces him. He expresses his profound regret over her departure, revealing he had searched for her for half a year before his mother's grave illness forced his return. Seeing Lin Mo safe and her hearing restored, a huge weight lifts from his heart.

They sit down to talk, and Lin Shaohai dismisses the harsh words spoken by Young Lord Song and his housekeeper, stating his unwavering belief in his daughter's character. He then eagerly asks about the man she has brought home, prompting Lin Mo to share all the details, despite her bashfulness. Lin Shaohai then meets Jiu Chen privately. After some pleasantries, the nervous Jiu Chen suddenly produces a stack of property deeds.

Lin Shaohai gently clarifies that he is not interested in such material possessions and asks to be called "Uncle Lin." He relays what Lin Mo has already shared about Jiu Chen's wealth, reputation, and military experience. Emphasizing that while he is a minor official and his daughter is not a noble lady, in his heart, Lin Mo is the best and kindest.

He then directly asks if Jiu Chen's affection is sincere and if he intends to cherish and protect her for life, or if it is merely a fleeting fascination. Jiu Chen, without hesitation, solemnly swears that he will protect Lin Mo with his life from any future difficulty or hindrance.

He pledges that if he ever breaks this oath, he will be hated by gods and ghosts, destroyed by heaven and earth, his soul annihilated, and condemned to eternal damnation, never to be reincarnated. Witnessing such a profound vow, Lin Shaohai is deeply moved and relieved, repeatedly expressing his approval. Jing Xiu secretly meets Heichi to discuss the Spirit-Binding Abyss.

Heichi confirms that everything is prepared for its opening, which requires Zhonghao's tribe's enchanted formation and the blood of a Phoenix Tribe member as a guide. He notes that Ling Yue is in Zhonghao's hands, and they only await the blood moon. Heichi further reveals that the Demon Lord punished Zhonghao for failing to find the female immortal who could break the seal.

However, Heichi believes Zhonghao is now focused on opening the Spirit-Binding Abyss to unleash the Demon Army for revenge against the Heavenly Race, showing little interest in freeing the Demon Lord. Jing Xiu learns that the Demon Lord deduced Jiu Chen sent that female immortal, Lingxi, to the mortal world for trials. If she succeeds and loses her demonic aura, the Demon Lord will be permanently sealed, making Jing Xiu realize the true peril of Lingxi's situation.

Yunfeng follows Qingyao to the Peach Forest and tells a poorly constructed, fictional tale about a mortal trial to subtly discredit Star Monarch Sangnan, implying his long trial proves a lack of deep affection for Qingyao. Amused but touched by Yunfeng's transparent efforts, Qingyao kisses his cheek before swiftly departing. Yunfeng stands in a daze, then erupts into joyous shouts, which wakes Chengyan.

He emerges and teases his sister about the "sweet things" he overheard, leading to a playful exchange of threats between the siblings. Shortly after, Star Monarch Sangnan arrives with the Heavenly Emperor's decree to lift Chengyan's restriction. He attempts to rekindle old memories, but Qingyao gently interrupts. She explains that she now chooses to respect fate's separations and has truly let go of her past love for him, realizing she was trapped in a fifty-thousand-year obsession.

She now understands the importance of treasuring the people currently in her life. When Sangnan asks if she means Yunfeng, she confirms. Accepting her decision, Sangnan departs, wishing her happiness. After a few days with her family, Lin Mo returns to Peach Blossom Cottage with Jiu Chen. Meanwhile, Chengyan, now free, secretly journeys to the mortal world to see Lingxi. He finds Lin Mo assisting a vendor, but she doesn't recognize him at all.

Startled when he calls her "Lingxi" and uses magic, she warns the "crooked" stranger that she knows someone more powerful, Jiu Chen. Heartbroken, Chengyan apologizes for breaking his promise to his sister not to visit and leaves. He returns to the Peach Forest and recounts to Qingyao how his Senior Sister has completely changed, with no memory of him.

Qingyao explains that trials are an inescapable part of their destiny and they must simply wait patiently for her safe return, sternly warning him not to disturb Lin Mo again. Back at the cottage, Lin Mo asks Jiu Chen if he knows a "Lingxi," recounting her encounter with the strange man. Jiu Chen vaguely dismisses Lingxi as an old friend. Later, while tidying Jiu Chen's bed, Lin Mo discovers an Immortal Knot.

Jiu Chen swiftly retrieves it, claiming it was a gift. Lin Mo begins to piece together Chengyan calling her Lingxi and Jiu Chen's earlier confession of liking her long before they met, and she grows suspicious. One day, as they play chess, Siming arrives. While Lin Mo makes tea, Siming discreetly informs Jiu Chen he must leave soon, as Lingxi's next trial is approaching.

Jiu Chen presses for details, but Siming refuses, explaining that revealing Heaven's will would jeopardize Lingxi's ability to pass the trial and ruin the chance Jiu Chen sacrificed so much to create. After Siming's swift departure, Jiu Chen invites Lin Mo for a walk by the sea. He advises her to never give up, no matter the future challenges, and speaks solemnly of cherishing love, family, and duty. Lin Mo finds his words perplexing but, trusting his promise to always be by her side, embraces him. Jiu Chen holds her, consumed by complex emotions.
