> Love and Destiny Recap

A monstrous Taowu beast rampaged through a town, striking fear into the hearts of the villagers. Zhu Zizai, who had been magically paralyzed by Jing Xiu, was unable to move. Just as the beast was about to attack him, Jiuchen appeared, rescuing Zhu Zizai and forcing the Taowu to retreat. Determined not to let it escape, Jiuchen pursued the beast into the outskirts, with Zhu Zizai enthusiastically following behind.

In a forest, Jiuchen cornered the Taowu, but despite his efforts, the beast managed to elude him. Having overexerted his magic, Jiuchen collapsed. Fortunately, Zhu Zizai and his companion Pao Suozhu found him and carried him to Sun Pharmacy. Meanwhile, Jing Xiu was tending to the injured when he received an urgent eagle signal that Princess Baoqing was gravely injured and her internal alchemy had been destroyed. He immediately left to attend to her.

Lin Mo brought the unconscious Jiuchen, whom she referred to as Lord Song, back to Peach Blossom Cottage, where he remained in a deep slumber for three days. Upon his awakening, Lin Mo expressed her relief but also chided him for his recklessness, fearing how she would explain his state to the Song family if something had gone wrong.

Jiuchen pressed her, asking if her concern was merely out of a sense of duty or if she held any genuine care for him. Before Lin Mo could answer, Zhu Zizai and Pao Suozhu arrived to visit. Upon entering, Zhu Zizai immediately knelt before Jiuchen, introducing himself as the thirty-eighth heir of Cool Breeze Temple.

Driven by an intense desire to cultivate immortality, he begged Jiuchen to accept him as a disciple, vowing to remain kneeling until his request was granted. Jiuchen initially dismissed him, but Lin Mo intervened, appealing to Jiuchen's sense of gratitude by reminding him that Zhu Zizai had saved him. Though Zhu Zizai modestly denied his contribution, Lin Mo insisted on their crucial role in his rescue. Reluctantly, Jiuchen allowed them to rise, implicitly accepting them.

Overjoyed, Zhu Zizai bowed repeatedly, and Pao Suozhu also knelt, addressing Jiuchen as "Grand Teacher." Annoyed, Jiuchen quickly ushered them out. Lin Mo then gently chided Jiuchen for his sternness, remarking that it was a good time to start accepting disciples, especially someone as earnest as Zhu Zizai. Elsewhere, Yuli relentlessly pursued Qingyao, urging her to speak to their father, the Medicine King, about annulling Yuli's engagement to Yunfeng.

Seeing through Qingyao's pretense, Yuli openly accused her of having feelings for Yunfeng and asked if she intended to simply watch him marry someone else. Qingyao, flustered, tried to deny it, but Yuli challenged her to admit her feelings and speak to their father, who always listened to her. When Qingyao maintained her refusal, a frustrated Yuli sarcastically wondered if Qingyao would cry when the marriage finally took place.

Jiuchen returned to the Heavenly Palace to report the Taowu beast's rampage to the Heavenly Emperor. He explained that the beast, sealed under the Qiongsang tree by the White Emperor for over a hundred thousand years, had suddenly broken free. Jiuchen suspected this was linked to the Demon Lord's awakening, noting that the pervasive demonic aura was affecting even common beasts and could lead to widespread chaos.

The God of Heavenly Thunder dismissed Taowu as a minor threat, but Jiuchen reiterated the potential for a greater disaster. Convinced, the Heavenly Emperor ordered Kaiyang and Hanzhang to investigate the matter. The Heavenly Emperor then curiously inquired about Jiuchen's new disciple. The God of Heavenly Thunder playfully teased Jiuchen, but he insisted his new disciple was merely a mortal, a claim met with amused skepticism from both deities, who expressed a desire to meet this "cultivating genius."

Meanwhile, Yunfeng convened with Siming, Kaiyang, Hanzhang, and Shisan, desperate for a way to annul his forced marriage. Siming first suggested Yunfeng retreat for tens of thousands of years, but Yunfeng scoffed that his Teacher had already gone into seclusion to avoid him. Siming then proposed a more drastic measure: kneeling outside the Grand Hall and threatening suicide by banging his head against a pillar. Yunfeng rejected the degrading idea.

Just then, Lord Baishan arrived with a decree for Kaiyang and Hanzhang regarding the Taowu beast. Yunfeng immediately volunteered for the mission, but Lord Baishan informed him that the Heavenly Emperor had forbidden him from leaving the Heavenly Palace until after his wedding. Later, Lin Mo informed Jiuchen that Jing Xiu had left, leaving a letter citing urgent family matters and a potted plant for her to care for. Jiuchen, secretly pleased, dismissed it as a "doomed fate."

However, suspecting Jing Xiu's departure was unusual, he projected his primordial spirit to Fuyun Hall to confront Yunfeng. Jiuchen revealed that the man by Lin Mo's side was State Preceptor Jing Xiu, who, despite being supposedly imprisoned, had appeared in the mortal world gravely injured and blind. Recognizing the deception and the potential involvement of the Demon Tribe, Jiuchen instructed Yunfeng to have Hanzhang discreetly send minor immortals to investigate the Shanling Tribe.

As Yunfeng tried to pivot the conversation to his own marriage dilemma, Jiuchen heard Lin Mo calling his name and immediately returned to his body in Peach Blossom Cottage. Lin Mo, finding him unresponsive, grew frantic, believing him to be gravely ill. Jiuchen quickly stopped her from getting a doctor, feigning that he had merely been sleeping soundly. Later, Lin Mo noticed Jiuchen’s clothes were torn and offered to make him new ones, but she couldn't find a ruler.

Recalling Yunfeng’s advice to be "bold and attentive, with a sweet tongue and kind face," Jiuchen playfully pulled Lin Mo’s hands around his waist to measure him. Lin Mo, flustered and shy, forgot the measurement, prompting a clearly amused Jiuchen to insist she measure him again. Determined, Yunfeng sought an audience with the Heavenly Emperor, again pleading for the annulment of his marriage. The Heavenly Emperor dismissed his excuse of loving someone else as an old trick.

Just then, Lord Baishan rushed in to report that the Taowu beast had escaped into Dark Capital Mountain. Seizing the opportunity, Yunfeng volunteered to lead the expedition. Though aware of Yunfeng's ulterior motive to earn a favor, the Heavenly Emperor ultimately agreed after Yunfeng's persistent assurances. Having received the decree, Yunfeng gathered his Heavenly Soldiers.

He described the Taowu beast—a stubborn, violent creature with a tiger’s body, a human face, and huge fangs—and instructed his troops to prioritize their own safety, as he would confront it himself. As he delivered his briefing, Qingyao watched from the palace walls. Yunfeng noticed her, but she vanished when he looked again. Soon after, Yuli found Qingyao and exaggerated the perils of Dark Capital Mountain, deliberately playing on Qingyao's emotions.

Despite recognizing the teasing, Qingyao couldn't hide her concern and quickly retrieved a bottle of her best mind-arousing pills. Upon reaching Dark Capital Mountain, Yunfeng and Lord Baishan met Yuantong, the guarding general, who informed them the Taowu had fled into a narrow gorge. She claimed ignorance of its exact whereabouts, explaining that as a mere scout, frequent entry into the demon-aura-filled mountain could cause her to lose her mind.

Unimpressed, Yunfeng instructed Lord Baishan and the soldiers to remain behind while he ventured into the gorge alone. When Yuantong's subordinate offered to help, Yuantong dismissively stated that a High God like Yunfeng would not require their assistance.
