Kaiyang and Hanzhang reported to Yunfeng that they found nothing unusual after inspecting the Shanling Territory. The Shanling State Master, Ling Yue, who was actually Zhonghao in disguise, urged them to leave. However, Yunfeng inquired about the whereabouts of the rebel Zhonghao. The disguised State Master claimed to have personally executed him and fed his corpse to the crows.
When Yunfeng then asked about State Preceptor Jing Xiu, the disguised Zhonghao stated he was imprisoned, dismissively questioning if he needed to inform the Heavenly Palace about punishing his own State Preceptor. Seeing his hostile attitude, Yunfeng left. Once they departed, Zhonghao revealed his true identity to Qinyuan, stating that once the Spirit-Binding Abyss opened and the Demon Tribe's army entered the realm, they would no longer need to hide.
Qinyuan cautiously expressed concern about the potential chaos, suggesting their clan's revenge was complete now that Ling Yue and Princess Baoqing were their prisoners and Jing Xiu was incapacitated. Zhonghao grew furious, questioning where the Six Realms' compassion was when his tribe was annihilated and reminding Qinyuan that some choices are irreversible. After leaving, Yunfeng and Kaiyang discussed Ling Yue's lingering grudge. Kaiyang suggested that 50,000 years might have softened her, but Yunfeng remained skeptical.
Kaiyang offered to monitor the Shanling Tribe for any unusual activity. Lin Mo diligently cared for Jing Xiu, offering him fish soup to help his eyes. Noticing a scrape on her hand, Jing Xiu felt like a burden and gave Lin Mo his thumb ring, suggesting she pawn it for money. Lin Mo refused, revealing that she was deaf and had once been unable to speak.
She confided that her current residence was not her own, and just as he had no family, she had a family she did not wish to return to. Proposing they were in similar plights, she suggested they take care of each other: she would be his eyes, and he would be her ears. Jing Xiu agreed with a rare smile.
Yuan Tong stood before the ancestral tablets of the Yuan Clan, lamenting that her path to protect her family's glory had ended in vain. As she left, she was confronted by Chengyan, who sought revenge for his master and Ling Xi. He attacked, and in his fury, used a self-harming technique to try and defeat her. The clash left Yuan Tong severely wounded and Chengyan gravely injured.
As punishment, the Heavenly Emperor sentenced Chengyan to thirty lashes and confined him to the Peach Forest. A distraught Qingyao, now needing to care for her brother, entrusted Jiuchen with looking after Lin Mo in the mortal realm. Lin Mo visited Doctor Sun, bringing him peaches from her tree. Doctor Sun taught her to make peach wine to preserve them.
He then revealed that he had lost his sense of taste decades ago from tasting medicines and could no longer appreciate any flavor, likening his condition to her hearing loss and Jing Xiu's blindness, explaining that such injuries to the five senses are difficult to fully heal. Despite this, he ate a peach to comfort her. Returning home, Lin Mo began preparing the peaches for wine-making, hoping to sell it and find work to support them.
However, her attempts to find a job were repeatedly met with rejection due to her hearing impairment. Jiuchen, intending to visit Lin Mo, was intercepted by Siming, who urgently informed him that the God of Heavenly Thunder was trying to force his way into the Demon Tower. They rushed there to find Shisan already injured from blocking the way.
The God of Heavenly Thunder challenged Jiuchen, who calmly stated that sealing the tower was the Heavenly Emperor's order and asked if he had a decree to override it. The God of Heavenly Thunder left to confront the Heavenly Emperor directly. The Emperor confirmed it was his order, revealing he had suggested using the Nuwa Stone Heart to save Ling Xi.
Still suspicious and noting Jiuchen seemed weaker than before, the God of Heavenly Thunder ordered his subordinate Ziguang to secretly investigate Jiuchen. Meanwhile, Yuan Tong sought medical treatment from Fairy Yuli at Yaowang Cave. Harboring a grudge, Yuli intentionally healed only half of her injuries, warning her that she would suffer surges of pain at noon, which could only be relieved by vomiting blood at the cost of one hundred years of cultivation per instance.
Yuli coldly advised her to never offend a doctor again. As an apprentice escorted Yuan Tong out, he revealed that one of the Heavenly Soldiers she killed was his clan brother. He then deliberately dropped her wound medicine, scattering the pills, and smiled, stating he looked forward to her eventual downfall.
