Black lotus flowers suddenly bloomed, revealing Yuanzheng's face, which startled Jiuchen. The Demon Lord then manifested again, boasting that he was the demon within everyone's hearts, and that Jiuchen could not kill all living beings. He asserted that Lingxi had become Jiuchen's obsession, fueling desires that would eventually allow the Demon Lord to break free. He tempted Jiuchen to release him, claiming that this would also protect Lingxi from persecution by the Heavenly Race.

Jiuchen, as the God of War, scorned the Demon Lord's proposal, declaring his purpose was peace for the Six Realms while condemning the Demon Lord to eternal torment. He departed, ignoring the Demon Lord's vow of revenge. Yuan Tong sought an audience with the Heavenly Emperor, stating it was for the safety of the Heavenly Palace and the Six Realms, not for her own family.

She accused Lingxi from Peach Forest of being a remnant of the Demon Tribe, presenting the Nine Dragons Mythical Fire Shade as evidence. She claimed to have "accidentally" discovered it in Fuyun Hall, noting that while Huayan and Shisan had been there for millennia, Lingxi was a newcomer. The Heavenly Emperor, seeing the demonic aura emanating from the treasure, immediately ordered Lord Baishanxian to notify the War Division to bring Lingxi for a personal interrogation.

Yuan Tong then volunteered to accompany them, hoping to atone for past misdeeds, and the Heavenly Emperor granted her request. Jinyuan had already abducted Lingxi from Fuyun Hall, sealing her in his storage bag en route to Dark Capital Mountain. She regained consciousness midway, activated her Heavenly Lasting Mythical Sand, and broke free. Jinyuan immediately drew a weapon and attacked, but Lingxi proved no match, soon falling off a cliff.

At that precise moment, Jiuchen arrived, struck Jinyuan, sending him plummeting down the cliff, and then himself leaped off to catch the unconscious and injured Lingxi. Meanwhile, God of Heavenly Thunder, accompanied by Ziguang, Fangsheng, and Yuan Tong, arrived at Dark Capital Mountain. There, Shisan, following Jiuchen's orders, barred their entry. God of Heavenly Thunder questioned Shisan’s presence and then directly confronted Jiuchen, who appeared shortly after.

God of Heavenly Thunder asked about Lingxi's whereabouts, implying Jiuchen was openly harboring a demon remnant. Jiuchen, after a pointed look at Yuan Tong, merely sent Shisan back to Fuyun Hall and left without a word. Lingxi awoke to find herself in Peach Forest, disoriented. She vaguely recalled being pursued, injured, and spitting blood.

Rushing to a mirror, she found no injuries and assumed it was all a dream, unaware that she was merely a wisp of her true spirit, while her actual body was undergoing a re-examination by Immortal Lord of Universal Turn before a gathering of immortals in the Heavenly Palace. Later, Lingxi joyfully found Le Bo drinking outside, embracing his arm and asking about Jiuchen. Le Bo, annoyed, revealed that her harboring demonic aura was common knowledge in the Heavenly Palace.

He explained that Jiuchen had temporarily shielded her using the pretense of her death, but warned her that Jiuchen, as the God of War, could not continuously protect her without becoming an enemy of the Six Realms. He urged her to give up her infatuation and live out her days peacefully in Peach Forest. Lingxi initially laughed, thinking Le Bo was drunk. Suddenly, a chilling aura swept over them.

Wuwan stepped forward to confront the unseen presence but was violently struck down by the newly arrived Zhonghao. Le Bo, despite not recognizing Zhonghao, sensed his potent demonic aura and immediately knew he was from the Demon Tribe. Though Le Bo's expertise lay in medicine rather than combat, he bravely engaged Zhonghao. However, he was quickly overpowered. Lingxi tried to activate her Heavenly Lasting Mythical Sand, only to find that its magic seemed to have failed.

As Zhonghao advanced toward Lingxi, Le Bo desperately clung to him, shouting for Lingxi to flee. Zhonghao, without hesitation, slashed Le Bo with his blade. Witnessing her father's injury, Lingxi cried out in anguish and tried to rush to him, but Chengyan, who had just returned, forcibly dragged her away. As they fled, Lingxi tearfully demanded to know what was happening.

Chengyan, unaware of the full context, furiously blamed her for not heeding Le Bo's advice, for attracting demons, and for causing Le Bo's death. Distraught by Chengyan's accusations and recalling Le Bo's earlier warnings, Lingxi's mind reeled. Suddenly, Heichi appeared, attacking and injuring Chengyan without warning. This fresh trauma caused Lingxi's heart to shatter, and the demonic aura within her surged uncontrollably.

At that very moment, in the Heavenly Palace, Lingxi's body, under re-examination by Immortal Lord of Universal Turn, erupted with overwhelming demonic energy. Jiuchen, sensing the gravity of the situation, secretly channeled his own magic to suppress it. However, the emotional blow Lingxi had just suffered was too immense, and her mind could no longer control the surge. Despite Jiuchen's full effort, he failed to contain it, and the unique Wuzhiqi mark behind her ear reappeared. The onlookers were stunned.

God of Heavenly Thunder seized the moment, confronting Jiuchen and demanding what he had to say. Meanwhile, Huayan, having heard the news, rushed to Fuyun Hall, urging Shisan to find a way to save Lingxi, but Shisan, overwhelmed with worry, could offer no solutions. The next day, Immortal Lord of Universal Turn reported the examination results to the Heavenly Emperor, confirming that Lingxi not only harbored demonic aura but also bore the unique mark of the former Demon Lord Wuzhiqi.

He warned that if she were to fall into the hands of Demon Tribe remnants, she would undoubtedly aid the Demon Lord in breaking his seal, endangering all living beings in the Six Realms. The Heavenly Emperor questioned why Immortal Lord of Universal Turn had not detected the demonic aura earlier. God of Heavenly Thunder immediately seized the opportunity to malign Jiuchen, claiming he had intentionally shielded Lingxi and requesting severe punishment.

Though the matter deeply troubled him, the Heavenly Emperor dared not be careless when it concerned the Demon Tribe. He issued a decree: Immortal Lord of Universal Turn was to investigate if there were any other Demon Tribe remnants in the Heavenly Palace and to ascertain why Lingxi harbored demonic aura. Additionally, Yuan Tong was promoted one immortal rank for her meritorious report. Yuan Tong felt a surge of triumph at having climbed a step higher through Lingxi's downfall. God of Heavenly Thunder continued to press the issue regarding Jiuchen, but the Heavenly Emperor, displeased, lowered his gaze without responding. God of Heavenly Thunder immediately changed the subject, asking how to handle the criminal Lingxi.

The Heavenly Emperor ordered her temporary detention, stating that her fate would be decided after further investigation and a gathering of all immortals. After the assembly, God of Heavenly Thunder cautioned Ziguang and Fangsheng to proceed cautiously in their mission to eliminate demons at Dark Capital Mountain. Ziguang, with an arrogant tone, boasted to Kaiyang about his new assignment, while Kaiyang silently observed him.

As Yuan Tong emerged, Kaiyang and Hanzhang confronted her, demanding why she reported Lingxi's matter directly to the Heavenly Emperor instead of informing Jiuchen first. Yuan Tong self-righteously explained that due to the critical nature of the matter and Jiuchen's absence from the Heavenly Palace, she had no choice but to report to the Heavenly Emperor. With that, she left with her head held high, leaving Kaiyang seething with anger.

That night, as Lingxi was held under guard at Purple Cloud Platform, Yuan Tong secretly watched her frail figure kneeling. She clenched her fists, consumed by a desire to utterly destroy Lingxi. In the Heavenly Court, Yunfeng vehemently opposed the proposed execution of Lingxi, citing God of Heavenly Thunder's long-standing personal grudge against her and accusing him of using this opportunity for personal revenge.

Yunfeng proposed instead to extract the demonic aura from Lingxi and purify the demonic mark, thus eliminating the threat. A heated argument erupted between the two, while other immortals were divided, some supporting God of Heavenly Thunder's call for execution, and others aligning with Yunfeng. At this critical juncture, Jiuchen arrived at the Lingxiao Treasure Hall.

Kneeling before the Heavenly Emperor, he implored him to spare Lingxi's life, offering to personally confine and guard her in the Polar Abyss forever, ensuring the Demon Tribe would have no opportunity to exploit her. God of Heavenly Thunder immediately began to voice his opposition, but Jiuchen preempted him, offering to relinquish his God of War Seal, resign from his position, and forfeit his first-rank immortal status, dedicating his eternal life to guarding the Polar Abyss.

God of Heavenly Thunder fell silent, recognizing that Jiuchen's resignation would pave the way for his own ambitions. Jiuchen repeatedly pleaded for his request to be granted. As the Heavenly Emperor wavered, a resonant bell sound echoed from Heavenly Lord Mountain. Recognizing it as the Heavenly Supreme Lord emerging from seclusion, Jiuchen and Yunfeng swiftly departed the hall and rushed to Heavenly Lord Mountain.

Outside the Heavenly Supreme Lord's cave, they respectfully greeted their Teacher, who then summoned Jiuchen alone into the cave. After fifty thousand years, the Heavenly Supreme Lord greeted his beloved disciple, Jiuchen, with satisfaction, noting how the killing aura and aggressive tendencies in his immortal skeleton had significantly diminished. He recounted Jiuchen's childhood, particularly his vow to become the God of War and protect the Six Realms, before sternly declaring that Lingxi "cannot be allowed to live."

Jiuchen, astonished, questioned why an innocent minor immortal must die, especially since his Teacher knew everything that had transpired. The Heavenly Supreme Lord explained that her death was a matter of destiny, unavoidable for the greater good of the Six Realms. Jiuchen argued that while he would readily sacrifice himself for the Six Realms, Lingxi was an ordinary being who should not be forced to sacrifice for others.

Seeing Jiuchen's unwavering stance, the Heavenly Supreme Lord used his magic to erect a stone wall around him, sealing him within the cave to contemplate his words. During this tumultuous period, Qingyao remained secluded in her alchemy room, refusing all visitors. She declined Star Monarch Mude's request for an audience, citing the need to tend to her smelting furnace. Outside her door, two immortal children whispered about Lingxi's predicament, but Qingyao appeared to ignore them.

Shisan and Huayan also rushed to her for help but were similarly turned away. An exasperated Shisan cursed Qingyao before storming off, followed by a worried Huayan. After their departure, Yuli burst into the alchemy room, distraught, to inform Qingyao that Lingxi was about to be executed at Purple Cloud Platform. Yuli tearfully apologized, admitting she resented Lingxi but had never wished for her death. Qingyao calmly replied that she had never held a grudge against Yuli.

Yuli then noticed an unusual fragrance from Qingyao's freshly smelted medicine and inquired about it. Qingyao offered the bottle for Yuli to smell; as the scent entered Yuli's nostrils, she collapsed softly. Qingyao then gently placed a small pill into Yuli's mouth. Qingyao then left the alchemy room, but was immediately stopped by an immortal child who cited Medicine King's orders forbidding her from leaving. Qingyao calmly held up the medicine bottle and shook it, causing the immortal child and everyone else outside to instantly fall into a deep slumber.
