Yuan Ming had Wu Pingting send a message to Ding Shui, only to discover that she was hiding in the palace. Wu Pingting thought Yuan Ming wanted to use the Witch Clan's hand to eliminate Ding Shui, who had been controlling them. Yuan Ming, however, said that perhaps Ding Shui wanted to eliminate Tao Yao and the others, but no matter who won or lost, it would be entirely beneficial to them.

As night fell, Shi Yi brought Cai Qian to the dilapidated Li Jing Tian, wanting to show her its beautiful scenery. However, Cai Qian found the place too eerie and terrifying. Tao Yao learned that it was Prince Che, who had always been on good terms with the Witch Clan, and merely instructed the witches to follow cautiously without disturbing them.

Currently, the Witch Clan had to fully deal with the Empress's death anniversary and absolutely could not afford any more casualties. Deep in the dense forest, fireflies twinkled like a fairyland. Cai Qian was delighted to see them. Shi Yi thought she was happy, but Cai Qian said she wished her fourth brother could be there to admire the beautiful scenery with her. In the secret chamber, Lian Fei exhausted her spiritual power to reshape a "fake Ding Shui."

Even if this fake Ding Shui died, her cultivation would be greatly diminished, but as long as she could set up a perfect scheme to make the Witch Clan pay, she would not hesitate. Xi Xie saw this and was deeply worried, hoping that Tao Yao would be able to see through her plot. Meanwhile, in Muyuan Hall, Feng Qingchen informed her Witch Clan sisters of the next day's action plan.

Bi Yao and the others were grateful to Feng Qingchen, knowing that the Witch Clan had hope of having their injustices cleared, but Feng Qingchen merely reminded them to act cautiously. Lian Fei, masked and dressed in black, came to see Yuan Ming, hoping he would honor their alliance and help her eliminate the Witch Clan tomorrow. If he betrayed her, she would never forgive him lightly.

Faced with this provocation, Yuan Ming remained unconcerned, because he had already conspired with Feng Qingchen, and everything would be revealed tomorrow. Yuan Hao, under Yuan An's instruction, had also placed his trusted aides throughout the Buddhist hall, even dousing the area around it with lamp oil. If the Witch Clan resisted, he would surely burn down the Buddhist hall to trap them, because in his heart, the Witch Clan was the murderer of his birth mother, the Empress.

With a fierce battle imminent, Yuan Ming, clear-headed and bright-eyed, brought refreshments to Feng Qingchen, comforting her that only with a calm mind could things be accomplished. He also believed that the intelligent Feng Qingchen would surely have the confidence to control the overall situation. However, Feng Qingchen said that Yuan Ling's help in sending the elders into the palace was already sufficient, and he must not get further involved.

Otherwise, if anything went wrong, she would absolutely not forgive him. Yuan Ling heard this and thought he had never seen such a contradictory person as Feng Qingchen, asking him for help yet not wanting his help. He feared that if her contradictions persisted, she would not know what she truly wanted to do. He comforted Feng Qingchen, assuring her that he would never give her the chance to not forgive him.

No sooner had Yuan Ling left than Yuan Zhan came to find Feng Qingchen. He handed her a jade pendant, saying that if anything unexpected happened tomorrow, this item could save her life. Feng Qingchen then realized that although Yuan Zhan remained outwardly calm, he knew everything. Yet, often she wished Yuan Zhan was still like he was in the previous timeline; at least then she would know how to face him.

The next day, in the grand halls of the Forbidden City, everything was ready. Inside the Buddhist hall, all the princes knelt in unison. Feng Qingchen attended by their side, and Tao Yao and others blended in with the people offering prayers. Shortly after the ritual began, spiritual butterflies flew in. All the doors and windows of the Buddhist hall were closed. Yuan An recognized Tao Yao.

Tao Yao stated that the Witch Clan had come this time to seek vindication, and Feng Qingchen also knelt, pleading with Yuan An to investigate the matter. Yuan Ling then disclosed the matter of the 'flame poison' that he had previously learned from Lian Fei. Yuan An saw that everyone was clamoring for the truth and hoped that Tao Yao could produce conclusive evidence, otherwise the Witch Clan would be forced to disappear forever.

Tao Yao presented the former Empress's letter, stating that Ding Shui had faked her death to murder the former Empress and also secretly harmed Elder Xi Xie. At the same time, Ding Shui, nourished for years by Lian Fei's heart blood, finally appeared. She feigned injuring Lian Fei and fiercely fought Ming Yan, who was guarding Lotus Pond Palace. In the critical moment, Yuan Ling arrived, stepping through the air with the Gui Li Sword, to rescue his birth mother.

Yuan An and others also rushed over. Yuan An questioned if Ding Shui was involved in the Empress's death. Ding Shui vehemently denied it. Feng Qingchen presented Xian Wu's bronze mirror. Seeing this, Ding Shui simply stopped hiding and confessed all her crimes, including murdering the Empress and framing Li Jing Tian. She declared that she wanted everyone to be buried with her and the former Emperor's love.

After speaking, Ding Shui went mad, channeling all her spiritual power to attack Feng Qingchen and the others. Yuan Ling saw this, drew his sword, and stood in front of Feng Qingchen to protect her, fighting Ding Shui to the death. The Gui Li Sword's momentum was swift, piercing Ding Shui's vital point, killing her. However, Yuan Ling also suffered severe injuries as a result.

Feng Qingchen rushed to Yuan Ling's side, and in her urgency, was about to cast a spell to save him, but Yuan Zhan stopped her. She couldn't expose her identity as the Saint Witch, so she could only ask Elder Tao Yao to come and examine him. Tao Yao followed the Imperial Guards to the secret chamber, only to find that Xi Xie had already died.

Overwhelmed with grief, she embraced the lifeless Xi Xie, unaware that this Xi Xie was actually a fake created by Lian Fei. In Li Jing Tian, Tao Yao stayed by "Xi Xie's" side, deeply saddened. Now the Witch Clan's injustices were finally cleared, and they could rightfully return to Li Jing Tian, but he could never come back. Feng Qingchen stayed by the unconscious Yuan Ling's bedside, her face streaming with tears.

In a moment of life and death, Yuan Ling had risked everything for her, but she had come here precisely to ensure his lifelong safety. If she lost him, what would be the meaning of everything she had done? Feng Qingchen tearfully vowed that as long as Yuan Ling survived this ordeal, she would never push him away again; she would stay by his side forever. Just then, Lian Fei came to visit Yuan Ling.

She used the matter of Xi Xie to send Feng Qingchen away, then stroked her son's cheek, realizing she had not expected Yuan Ling to actually fall in love with Feng Qingchen.
