The Emperor, pleased with Li Yi for successfully investigating a corruption case and recovering military funds, announces his decision to appoint Li Yi as the Crown Prince. This news sparks jealousy in Li Fu. Li Yi thanks Ji Taifu for his guidance but expresses confusion about the Empress's unexpected and firm support.

Ji Taifu reveals that he made a deal with the Empress, leveraging a secret letter proving her involvement in framing and causing the death of Imperial Concubine An, who was Princess Anyue of Nanzhao. Li Yi realizes the Empress's culpability in the deaths of both Imperial Concubine Mu and Princess Anyue.

Ji Taifu further cautions Li Yi to be wary of the Xiao family, particularly Xiao Ruyi, who is close to Li Fu, as Elder Xiao is also aware of these dark secrets. Meanwhile, Tang Qingye stands conflicted, clutching her "killing tool" and hesitant to harm Tang Qingfeng. Tang Qingfeng returns to the hut, interrupting her thoughts.

When asked if he has killed many people, he explains his actions were for the peace and security of Datang's citizens, a revelation that deepens Tang Qingye's reluctance to betray him. Tang Qingfeng senses her unusual behavior and questions if she's hiding something or if she's not his true sister. Tang Qingye deflects, citing his past suspicions. Tang Qingfeng reassures her of his trust and tells her to hide when arrows rain down outside.

He realizes the attack by people from Xingzu village is a diversion. Rushing back, he finds Tang Qingye gone. Ji Le, the leader of Xingzu village, has bound Tang Qingye, accusing her of being a disgrace to the Duo Star people and colluding with the Nanzhao King.

Tang Qingye attempts to explain her actions as a "slow-down tactic" to rescue Duo Miaomiao and the Xiao siblings, but Ji Le remains unconvinced and threatens to use a decomposition instrument to turn her into meat paste. As a fire suddenly breaks out in the barracks, Ji Le rushes to investigate. Tang Qingfeng seizes the opportunity to rescue Tang Qingye. They are soon intercepted by Ji Le, who angrily blames Tang Qingfeng for protecting a "wrongdoer."

Tang Qingye, feeling ashamed, silently pulls Tang Qingfeng, who resolves to protect her. Tang Qingfeng admits to starting the fire to save Tang Qingye and questions Ji Le's sudden ruthlessness, reminding her that she had previously helped them. He takes full responsibility for Tang Qingye's actions and offers himself for punishment. Ji Le, enraged, attacks them with her scepter, intensifying her assault upon seeing the gouyu on Tang Qingfeng. Duan Fei appears, blocking Ji Le's powerful blow.

Ji Le is shocked to see Duan Fei and grows even more furious, realizing Tang Qingfeng is Princess Anyue's son. She threatens to sever ties with Duan Fei if he helps him. Duan Fei pleads with Ji Le, insisting he acts for her sake. Duan Fei then urges Ji Le to listen to Tang Qingye's explanation calmly.

Tang Qingye reveals that the Nanzhao King, Ali, had taken Duo Miaomiao and the Xiao siblings hostage, forcing her to agree to kill Tang Qingfeng. She exposes Ali's elaborate plot to replace Datang officials with puppet clones to usurp the throne, confirming his role in framing Tang Qingfeng's father for the Ye Liang town massacre.

Tang Qingfeng, now understanding the full scope of Ali's conspiracy, proposes a plan to Ji Le to eliminate Ali without a full-scale battle, requiring only his and Tang Qingye's involvement. As a condition, Tang Qingfeng demands that Ji Le apologize to Tang Qingye for her harsh treatment. Ji Le initially refuses, leading Tang Qingfeng to turn and leave with Tang Qingye in anger.

Tang Qingye tries to calm him, saying she doesn't mind the injuries, but Tang Qingfeng insists that "he" cares deeply. Persuaded by Duan Fei, Ji Le reluctantly offers a sincere apology to Tang Qingye, and they agree to a temporary alliance. Tang Qingfeng then outlines his daring plan: he will feign his own death to gain Ali's trust, and Ji Le must play along. Later, Duan Fei puts Tang Qingye in a trance to speak with Tang Qingfeng privately.

Duan Fei reveals Tang Qingfeng's true lineage: he is the son of Princess Anyue of Nanzhao (Imperial Concubine An) and the current Emperor, making him the Emperor's eldest prince. Tang Qingfeng confirms he already knew this from General Tang. He then inquires about the gouyu. Duan Fei explains it was a powerful token given to him by Ji Le, which he then gave to Princess Anyue for protection.

He recounts finding her dying amidst the war between Nanzhao and Datang, at which point she entrusted Tang Qingfeng to his foster father. Duan Fei asks if Tang Qingfeng seeks revenge or his rightful throne. Tang Qingfeng responds that his only desire is to protect Tang Qingye and ensure her happiness, free from worries. After Tang Qingye awakens, she questions Tang Qingfeng about what Duan Fei told him, but Tang Qingfeng lies, dismissing it as unimportant past events.

She then asks why he seems to trust her so completely, especially after he once suspected her of impersonating his sister. Tang Qingfeng firmly states his unwavering belief in her, offering his life as proof, saying he would not resist if she wished to kill him. Tang Qingye, her emotions churning, confronts him, declaring she will kill him to test his trust. Tang Qingfeng kneels, exposing his neck, and apologizes for any past doubts or hurts.

With tears in her eyes and repeating his vow of trust, Tang Qingye delivers a decisive, seemingly fatal strike. Meanwhile, in Ali's underground palace, Duo Miaomiao successfully escapes his bonds and quickly frees Xiao Ruyi and Xiao Zhihe. Xiao Ruyi, upon awakening, questions Ali's motives. Duo Miaomiao, carefully avoiding revealing Ali's alien identity, discloses Ali's sinister plan: to create puppet clones to replace Datang officials and usurp the throne.

He points to the massacre in Ye Liang town as the work of these puppets, thereby framing General Tang. Realizing General Tang was framed, Xiao Ruyi wishes to report to the Emperor, but Duo Miaomiao urges her to stay, as he needs to find a crucial "ancient divine stone" within the palace, which he calls the "eye of the universe," believing that whoever possesses this stone will rule the world.

Tang Qingye arrives at Ali's palace, presenting Tang Qingfeng's "head" as proof of his death. Ali, pleased, leads her to a secret room in the underground palace. Just as Duo Miaomiao discovers the "eye of the universe," Ali and Tang Qingye appear. Ali snatches the artifact, gloating about its immense power. Duo Miaomiao exclaims that Tang Qingye has betrayed them.

However, Tang Qingye reveals her true intentions: she deliberately allowed Duo Miaomiao to escape so he could locate the "eye of the universe" for their side. Ali, enraged, orders Tang Qingye to eliminate Duo Miaomiao and the Xiao siblings. Tang Qingye feigns compliance, asking for a proper weapon. When Ali lowers his guard, she swiftly stabs him, accusing him of ruining her carefully orchestrated plan (or, as she pretends, "destroying her business"). Ali, wounded, calls her greedy.

Enraged, Ali attempts to activate his Gene variants (puppet clones). At that critical moment, Ji Le dramatically arrives, striking Ali down. To Ali's shock and fury, Tang Qingfeng also appears, alive and well, greeting Ali with a confident "Long time no see, Ali." Duo Miaomiao finally understands that Tang Qingye has been an undercover agent all along, executing a daring plan with Tang Qingfeng and Ji Le to expose and thwart Ali's ambitions.
