Luo Xueer brought Luo Shuangshuang to the prison to see Shen Danqing. She didn't understand why Shen Danqing repeatedly opposed the Luo family. Shen Danqing stated that she had simply uncovered the Luo family's secret and therefore wanted to use this matter to negotiate a deal with Luo Jizhou. Luo Xueer had malicious intentions and placed a Western Regions poisonous spider in the prison cell, wanting to kill Shen Danqing.

Shen Danqing did not want to die from poisoning in the prison. She threatened the jailer to have him send a letter to Xu Chengfeng and at the same time go to the Shen residence to invite Divine Doctor Miao here.

The jailer went to the General's mansion to invite Xu Chengfeng, but Xu Chengfeng couldn't get away from Prince Yu's entanglement for a while, and because the Shen residence was surrounded by people sent by Magistrate Bai, Divine Doctor Miao also could not come here.

The two mutually accused each other. Concubine Zhou was convinced that Luo Jizhou had ruined her, and even openly shoved Luo Jizhou in the court, causing Luo Jizhou's head to hit the wooden table, ultimately making him fall unconscious.

Concubine Zhou insisted that she was the one who framed Shen Danqing and Luo Jizhou, only wanting to die to protect her two daughters. Finally, Magistrate Bai sentenced Concubine Zhou to execution after review in the autumn, based on her attempted murder of a relative. Shen Danqing was released in court because she was innocent. Xu Chengfeng listed Magistrate Bai's dereliction of duty one by one and punished him with a year's salary deduction plus twenty heavy blows.

To thank Xu Chengfeng for his help, Shen Danqing specially brought Shen Zishan to Drunken Cloud Building to host a banquet for Xu Chengfeng. Shen Danqing recalled how Xu Chengfeng had repeatedly tested whether she was the female mountain bandit, even going so far as to throw her into the water, nearly drowning her. Shen Danqing guessed that Xu Chengfeng's actions might be related to his purpose in coming to Liaocheng.

She stated directly that Xu Chengfeng's investigation was related to the imperial cargo lost by the Shen clan. Shen Danqing called Shen Zishan today also because she wanted her brother to cooperate with Xu Chengfeng. Xu Chengfeng wanted to investigate the disappearance of the imperial cargo, while Shen Zishan wanted to find the person who poisoned his sister. The timing of these two matters was so coincidental that she believed the goals of their investigations were the same.

Shen Zishan was willing to trust Xu Chengfeng once, and the two thus reached a cooperation agreement. After Xu Chengfeng returned to his mansion, he was troubled by Prince Yu. Prince Yu wanted to get the clues in Xu Chengfeng's hands, but Xu Chengfeng directly had Tian Hao send the clue records obtained from Shen Zishan to the Grand Academician for review. Prince Yu, in order to reward Xu Chengfeng for obtaining clues, specially bestowed a maid upon him.

To prevent the conflict between the two of them from harming the maid Lv Zhu, Xu Chengfeng had to agree to keep Lv Zhu. Tian Hao arranged Lv Zhu in a remote part of the mansion, worried that this woman might harm Xu Chengfeng. However, Xu Chengfeng stated directly that Lv Zhu should serve as usual, as this would satisfy Prince Yu.
