Xu Nuo and Shi Ran were at a wedding dress shop, both trying on gowns for a simulated proposal event. As they admired themselves in the mirror, Shi Ran playfully teased Xu Nuo about being full of herself. Xu Nuo asked Shi Ran who she had invited to play the role of her boyfriend, but Shi Ran remained mysterious. Xu Nuo confirmed that her own boyfriend, Peng Yuan, would be coming.
Shi Ran then pressed Xu Nuo, asking if she would agree if Peng Yuan were to truly propose to her. Xu Nuo declared that if he did, she would marry him, adding that after thinking about it for ten years, she was tired. Shi Ran noted that marriage and love are different, and while she wouldn't advise on Xu Nuo's marriage, she would support whatever decision Xu Nuo made.
Soon after, Shi Ran's invited guest arrived, who turned out to be Xu Yang, a colleague of Zhao Jin. Xu Nuo was surprised to see him. She then asked Xu Yang if Zhao Jin had come with him. Xu Yang revealed that Zhao Jin had someone he liked and wanted to spend time with his girlfriend, a fact his colleague Dahao had figured out. Xu Nuo understood that Zhao Jin was referring to her.
When Xu Yang then asked who looked prettier in their wedding dresses, he diplomatically stated that while the dresses were the same, it depended on who wore them, before conceding that Xu Nuo was indeed prettier, much to Shi Ran's mock annoyance. During the preparations, Peng Yuan called Xu Nuo, apologizing that he couldn't attend the "10-Year event" due to a last-minute job in Shanghai.
Xu Nuo tried to sound unbothered, claiming she was also busy with work, but secretly felt disappointed. Because Peng Yuan couldn't attend, Xu Nuo was unable to participate in the "10-Year event" and could only watch silently, feeling disheartened and envying the couples on stage. Peng Yuan called again, saying his "woman is always the best" but the event was over. Xu Nuo just told him she was tired and going home. Meanwhile, it was Valentine's Day.
Peng Yuan was at a KTV with Cong Shan and their colleagues. Cong Shan noted that her mother had booked the large private room, hinting at her mother's intentions for them to spend time alone. Peng Yuan, however, brushed it off, saying it was more fun with more people. That evening, as Xu Nuo lay alone in bed, Peng Yuan video-called her, pretending to be celebrating a big deal with his colleagues in Shanghai.
Xu Nuo told him not to drink too much, and they ended the call quickly. Unbeknownst to Xu Nuo, Peng Yuan had been with Cong Shan all along. Later, Xu Nuo received a call from Xu Yang, who claimed Shi Ran had too much to drink and asked Xu Nuo to pick her up. Xu Nuo agreed, but as she drove, she saw Peng Yuan and Cong Shan leaving the KTV, confirming his lie about being in Shanghai.
When Xu Nuo finally met Zhao Jin, they realized Shi Ran and Xu Yang had orchestrated the meeting, as Shi Ran, knowing Xu Nuo would be sad, had set up this meeting with Zhao Jin, falsely claiming the other was too drunk to be picked up alone, hoping to make Xu Nuo feel better. Xu Nuo became overwhelmed with emotion, crying to Zhao Jin and accusing him of being selfish for only considering his own feelings, not hers.
Later, Xu Nuo's father visited her mother. He shared that he had met Peng Yuan at his company and, having received Peng Yuan's help, kept speaking up for him. Peng Yuan had revealed that Xu Nuo wasn't very keen on getting married recently. Xu Nuo's father urged her mother to press their daughter on the issue, emphasizing that a man like Peng Yuan, who prioritizes his career, was a good match.
He also admitted that he had asked Peng Yuan to consider investing in expanding her mother's laundromat, which greatly angered Xu Nuo's mother, who accused him of taking benefits from Peng Yuan without her consent. Zhao Jin's sister, Xiao Qin, visited Xu Nuo's flower shop, expressing her desire to learn floristry but lamenting that her brother didn't want her to "contact too many people" and wouldn't even let her keep a cat. Xu Nuo kindly encouraged her to visit often.
Later, Peng Yuan arrived to pick up Xu Nuo, making Xiao Qin a little sad. Shi Ran, seeing Peng Yuan, subtly questioned Xu Nuo's relationship status to Xiao Qin, saying, "that's not considered a boyfriend, right?" Xu Nuo had been cold towards Peng Yuan, and in the car, Peng Yuan, unable to bear her coldness, confronted her. He mentioned her father had asked him to invest in the laundromat and wanted to know if her parents had reunited.
Xu Nuo dismissed it, telling him not to get involved. Peng Yuan then asked if she no longer wanted to get married, hinting that her father's "other arrangements" for her were her excuse. Xu Nuo finally broke down, bursting out all her grievances and crying.
She stated that she was the one who didn't want to get married, that everything was her fault, and that she knew all along he wasn't going to marry her, but he still "defaulted" to dating her, which hurt her the most. Peng Yuan felt guilty, knowing Xu Nuo wouldn't be his eventual wife. He asked if she had ever thought about marrying him, even for a moment.
Xu Nuo then asked if he had ever felt sorry for her, demanding that he face her honestly. The next morning, Xiao Qin told Zhao Jin she wanted to find a job at Xu Nuo's flower shop. Zhao Jin, in a foul mood, immediately opposed it, questioning why she needed Xu Nuo's sympathy. Xiao Qin accused him of wanting her to "die unhappily" and being "spineless." Zhao Jin apologized for his harsh words.
Xiao Qin then revealed she knew Xu Nuo had a boyfriend, to which Zhao Jin advised her not to lie to herself and just be happy. Xu Nuo later told Shi Ran that she was ready to break up with Peng Yuan. Shi Ran questioned her reasons, warning that Peng Yuan would perceive it as a betrayal, especially since Zhao Jin had "showed up" just as Xu Nuo wanted to end things.
Shi Ran also suspected that Peng Yuan might be waiting for Xu Nuo to make the first move because Xu Nuo was "not the marriage partner in his heart at all," speculating it might be his co-partner. Xu Nuo, however, simply stated she didn't want to find anything anymore.
Shi Ran pressed further, asking if Zhao Jin would wait for her to break up, but Xu Nuo confessed that she and Zhao Jin "can't be together either" and she didn't have the confidence for a relationship with him. Later, Shi Ran and Xu Yang were eating noodles when Xu Yang mentioned that Peng Yuan's girlfriend (Xu Nuo) was beautiful but they weren't getting married, implying they both had no marriage plans.
He also added that he and his colleagues thought Peng Yuan and their company's female boss seemed like a couple. Shi Ran asked if Xu Yang liked Zhao Jin, which Xu Yang denied, but Shi Ran pointed out his "particular interest" in Zhao Jin from when they first met, playfully calling him jealous. During their meal, Xu Yang received a call from Dahao, inviting them to dinner with Zhao Jin.
Xu Yang wanted to wait before going, explaining that he hadn't told Dahao about "their relationship." Shi Ran questioned what "relationship" he was referring to, reminding him they were just friends. Before they could clarify their dynamic, Shi Ran again asked Xu Yang who Zhao Jin liked and if he was "worth dating," making Xu Yang wonder why she paid so much attention to Zhao Jin.
