Zhao Jin's sister told Xu Nuo that she could tell her brother liked Xu Nuo very much, and Xu Nuo also liked him; it was her intuition. She also confided that she had been a burden to her brother for many years, delaying his happiness. Just then, Zhao Jin entered, sternly stopping his sister from speaking nonsense, which made her cry.
Xu Nuo pulled Zhao Jin outside and urged him to apologize to his sister, emphasizing that girls have strong self-esteem and he shouldn't criticize her in front of others. Zhao Jin took her advice and returned to patiently apologize to his sister. Zhao Jin then brought up his previous statement about not wanting to be just friends. He explained that recent events had led him to retract that, as he didn't want Xu Nuo to feel sympathy for him.
They agreed to be friends, with Zhao Jin emphasizing that friends could say hello when they missed each other and meet when they wanted, without overthinking messages. As they passed a restaurant, they saw Peng Yuan and Cong Shan leaving. Peng Yuan also caught a glimpse of Xu Nuo in the car. He immediately called Xu Nuo, who, when asked if he had just seen her, lied and said she had been home all along.
Zhao Jin, hearing this, remarked that since they were friends, she didn't need to lie. Observing Peng Yuan's doubtful expression, Cong Shan intentionally mentioned that her father considered Peng Yuan his most ideal candidate, implying her own role as manager was only temporary. Shi Ran returned from Hainan, bringing gifts for everyone at the flower shop.
She saw Zhao Jin's social media post about rehoming his sister's cats and messaged him, asking him to deliver one to her, and conveniently provided Xu Nuo's address.
