Hua Buqi, clutching her pottery bowl, was relentlessly pursued by agents from Mingyue Villa. Cornered at the edge of a cliff, despair overwhelmed her, and she prepared to leap, hoping to join Uncle Jiu in death. Fortunately, Lotus Robe Knight arrived just in time, saving her and preventing her from becoming a "cliff ghost."

During his fight with Qingwu, Lotus Robe Knight accidentally tore her clothing, revealing an insignia that confirmed these individuals were the same people who had earlier stolen the medicinal ingredients. Overwhelmed by the sheer number of Mingyue Villa's forces, Lotus Robe Knight was forced to quickly escape with Hua Buqi. The two found refuge in a safe mountain cave. Hua Buqi, distraught, wanted to immediately retrieve Uncle Jiu's body, fearing that wild animals would consume him.

Lotus Robe Knight cautioned her about the dangers outside and insisted she remain in the cave while he went alone to find and bury Uncle Jiu, as it was not convenient to take her outside. Meanwhile, the Mingyue Villa forces, now aware of Lotus Robe Knight's escape with Hua Buqi, split into two groups: one to pursue Lotus Robe Knight, and the other to continue searching for Hua Buqi.

Hua Buqi was eventually discovered by Mingyue Villa's search party, but she managed to evade them, guided by her loyal dog, Ah Huang. With the entire Xizhou Prefecture now actively hunting her, Hua Buqi sought refuge at Yaoling Manor, believing the pursuers wouldn't come there.

The kindhearted Old Madam of the manor was moved by Hua Buqi's tragic story, having heard about her recent loss and the hardships she endured with Ah Huang, whom she affectionately called "Mother" because the dog had fed her milk as a child. The Old Madam decided to allow Hua Buqi and Ah Huang to stay, promising they wouldn't go hungry as long as she had food.

Elsewhere, Qingwu arrived at Yaoling Manor and ordered Lin Mantang to immediately dispatch men to the magistrate's office. She demanded a substantial reward be offered to force Lotus Robe Knight out of hiding, determined to make him pay for continually thwarting her plans and snatching away her intended targets. She suspected he hadn't left Xizhou Prefecture. She also asked for an investigation into a beggar, seeking to learn their usual resting places in the city.

Back at the inn, Chen Yu had already confirmed Hua Buqi's identity as the Seventh Prince's illegitimate daughter. He vehemently declared he would prevent her from entering the royal manor. Chen Yu instructed Chen Shi to examine Yaoling Manor's financial records, but no incriminating evidence was found. Chen Yu remained convinced that Yaoling Manor was related to the mobsters, otherwise, they wouldn't be pursuing Lotus Robe Knight now, suggesting they knew he was still within Xizhou.

However, he was puzzled as to why Yaoling would provoke Feiyun Fortress, one of the four great families, by stealing their medicinal supplies. That night, Hua Buqi secretly left Yaoling Manor to visit the mountain cave. Lotus Robe Knight had already found Uncle Jiu's body and respectfully buried him. Kneeling before Uncle Jiu's grave, Hua Buqi wept uncontrollably, her grief touching Lotus Robe Knight.

She apologized to Uncle Jiu for not being able to visit him for a long time and for not being able to go to the capital with him, asking him to reincarnate into a rich person and not a beggar, as it didn't suit him. Lotus Robe Knight noted that the black-clad individuals pursuing them were the same group who had robbed the medicine merchants.

Hua Buqi then recalled Uncle Jiu's past conversations, suggesting they had always been hunting her and Uncle Jiu due to a grudge against him. She informed Lotus Robe Knight of her decision to travel to the capital to find her family, planning to hitch a ride in Chen Yu's carriage to evade the city gate guards, believing they wouldn't dare search his carriage.

Hua Buqi expressed her extremely poor opinion of Chen Yu, describing him as a "dog-ass Young Lord Chen," selfish, arrogant, despicable, and unintelligent, the complete opposite of Lotus Robe Knight. She added that he wouldn't even give her one of his two medicine pellets. Lotus Robe Knight's mouth twitched slightly upon hearing her blunt assessment, but he appeared relieved that she had found a way to reach the capital safely.

Hua Buqi then bid farewell to Uncle Jiu and Lotus Robe Knight, promising to stay at Yaoling for a few days before attempting to join Chen Yu's journey to the capital. The next morning, Hua Buqi, now dressed in maid's attire, began working at Yaoling Manor. Lin Dansha recognized Hua Buqi as the girl who had previously slandered Chen Yu at the inn and mocked her, questioning who would want a woman who had "drunk dog's milk."

Lin Mantang, passing by, reprimanded Lin Dansha and then closely observed Hua Buqi. He noticed her striking resemblance to a portrait of Xue Fei. Lin Mantang initially considered reporting Hua Buqi's whereabouts to Mingyue Villa, but his son intervened. The son revealed rumors circulating that a woman resembling the portrait was the Seventh Prince's lost daughter.

He saw this as a golden opportunity for the Lin family to escape Mingyue Villa's control and gain the powerful patronage of the Seventh Prince. After careful consideration, Lin Mantang decided to move Hua Buqi into the inner courtyard, assigning two servants to watch over her discreetly, understanding that the future survival of Yaoling Manor now hinged on Hua Buqi.

Hua Buqi was ushered into the inner courtyard, where the Lin family treated her with excessive politeness and provided her with luxurious accommodations and servants, referring to her as "My Lady." This unexpected lavish treatment made Hua Buqi uneasy, leading her to mistakenly believe that Master Lin intended to take her as a concubine. Determined to avoid this fate, she resolved to find an opportunity to escape.

Meanwhile, Chen Yu was still waiting at the inn for Hua Buqi, when Lin Dansha arrived. Unintentionally, Lin Dansha revealed that Hua Buqi was now residing at Yaoling Manor, referring to her as the beggar who drank dog's milk. Concerned for Hua Buqi's safety, Chen Yu decided to investigate Yaoling Manor again that night, this time in his guise as Lotus Robe Knight.

During his nocturnal visit to Yaoling Manor, Chen Yu (as Lotus Robe Knight) unexpectedly encountered another black-clad intruder. This intruder inadvertently triggered one of Yaoling Manor's security mechanisms, alerting everyone. The manor staff mistakenly identified the black-clad intruder as Lotus Robe Knight and converged to capture him. At the same time, Hua Buqi, with her two assigned maids in tow, also witnessed the commotion as she attempted to retrieve some items she claimed to have left in the back courtyard.

Her maids fled in fright amidst the chaos, allowing Hua Buqi to hide and observe the true Lotus Robe Knight appear and rescue the other black-clad person. The rescued black-clad person then fled to the back courtyard, where they were confronted by Ah Huang. Ah Huang bravely fought the intruder, drawing the attention of the Lin family members. In the ensuing chaotic struggle between the Lin family and the black-clad person, Ah Huang was accidentally killed.

Hua Buqi arrived moments later and, wrongly assuming the black-clad person was responsible for Ah Huang's death, was filled with hatred. However, despite her intense anger, she found herself unable to deliver a fatal blow to the unconscious intruder, acknowledging that she still didn't dare to kill people. She buried Ah Huang next to Uncle Jiu, lamenting that she was now truly alone. She tearfully vowed to live well and fulfill her promise to Uncle Jiu by finding Mr. Zhu in the capital.
