In the Mo Manor kitchen, Qing'er faced harassment from the kitchen steward. Just as he became aggressive, Mo Ruofei appeared, kicking the steward away. Mo Ruofei ordered guards to give the steward thirty lashes and expel him from the manor, warning everyone that he would not tolerate bullying. He then thoughtfully gave Qing'er a special cream, reassuring her that no such incident would happen again and that the cream would prevent scars. Qing'er thanked him, touched by his kindness.

Hua Buqi had recovered from her illness. Mo Ruofei introduced her to his cousin, Yun Lang, hoping they would get along. However, their first meeting immediately turned into a heated argument. Hua Buqi brought up the incident at Yaoling and how Yun Lang, whom she had mistaken for a thief, had crawled through a dog hole. She then provocatively accused him of killing her dog, Ah Huang.

Yun Lang vehemently denied killing the dog and became enraged by her persistent mockery about the dog hole. Before leaving them, Mo Ruofei, burdened with other matters, expressed his hope that they would find a way to get along. As soon as Mo Ruofei left, Hua Buqi and Yun Lang's argument escalated. Hua Buqi taunted Yun Lang, threatening to report him to the Seventh Prince and even commission drawings of him crawling through the dog hole, widely disseminating them.

Exasperated, Yun Lang suddenly kissed Hua Buqi. He then declared that he would propose marriage to her as the Young Master of Feiyun Fortress, confident that the Seventh Prince, his aunt, and Mo Ruofei would all agree. Humiliated and furious, Hua Buqi ran off. Seizing the opportunity, Hua Buqi realized that Xiuchun, her maid, believed she was still with Yun Lang, and Yun Lang wasn't following her. She decided to escape.

She found a swill cart in the kitchen and hid inside, successfully leaving the Mo Manor. Once outside, Hua Buqi exchanged clothes with a beggar. Following Uncle Jiu's dying instructions, she made her way to the Xingyuan Pawn Shop in the southern lane of the capital to find a Mr. Zhu. However, the shop assistant tried to turn her away, claiming no one by that name worked there. Hua Buqi insisted, explaining that Uncle Jiu had sent her.

The pawnbroker, an observant man, questioned if she had forgotten or missed anything. Hua Buqi then remembered Uncle Jiu's specific instruction to bring an alms bowl. The pawnbroker reiterated that it was a pawn shop and they would only see her if she had something to pawn.

Disappointed and without the alms bowl, which she knew Chen Yu possessed, Hua Buqi left, realizing she needed to retrieve it because only with the alms bowl would Mr. Zhu appear and she could learn her true identity. After her departure, the pawnbroker, who was Manager Fu of Mingyue Villa, instructed his subordinate, Zhu Shou, to prepare enough silver. They planned to collaborate with Mingyue Villa to compete with Mo Manor for the rights to run the Imperial Treasury.

Meanwhile, Yun Lang informed Mo Ruofei that Hua Buqi was missing. A frantic search began. Overwhelmed by guilt, Yun Lang confessed to Mo Ruofei about his quarrel with Hua Buqi, the dog hole incident, and the kiss. Mo Ruofei sternly rebuked Yun Lang for his frivolous behavior, emphasizing the importance of a lady's reputation. As they continued their search, news reached them that Hua Buqi had been seen near the Prince Manor, prompting Mo Ruofei to rush in that direction.

At the Prince Manor, the Seventh Prince, gravely ill, confided in his attendant, Fu. He worried about not living long enough to find the Biluotian map and about his rebellious son, Chen Yu, fearing Chen Yu wouldn't fulfill his dying wish to continue the search. He desperately wanted Hua Buqi to move into the manor to find peace of mind. Fu reassured him of Chen Yu's filial nature.

To sway Chen Yu, the Seventh Prince staged a dramatic scene, feigning extreme weakness and expressing his final wish for his family to be united and for Hua Buqi to join them. Witnessing his father's apparent distress, Chen Yu relented and agreed to have Hua Buqi move in. Hua Buqi arrived at the tightly guarded Prince Manor, dressed as a beggar. She worried about being recognized and feared Chen Yu's wrath.

Although she considered returning to the pawn shop, she knew retrieving the alms bowl was paramount. As she prepared to enter, Mo Ruofei caught her, chastising her for her recklessness. He forcibly brought her back to the Mo Manor, where his maid, Xiuchun, was instructed to help her clean up. Soon after, Jiansheng arrived with news that Royal Concubine Gan from the Seventh Prince's Manor was coming to officially escort Hua Buqi, as Chen Yu had given his consent.

Hua Buqi, emboldened, declared her intention to reclaim the alms bowl, which was crucial for discovering her true identity, and to assert her rightful place. Mo Ruofei, however, cautioned her to be careful in the Prince Manor, reminding her that with the Seventh Prince ill, Chen Yu held significant power and she should avoid provoking him. Later, Mo Ruofei discussed the situation with his mother, who worried about their standing in the upcoming Imperial Treasury bid.

Mo Ruofei saw Hua Buqi's move to the Prince Manor as a strategic opportunity to approach Chen Yu and secure the crucial Imperial Treasury rights for the Mo Manor, emphasizing the family's reputation and recalling a past family feud that threatened their standing. His mother expressed concern for his safety, mentioning that they could no longer discreetly poison Hua Buqi. Upon her arrival at the Prince Manor, Royal Concubine Gan immediately attempted to assert her authority over Hua Buqi.

She made Hua Buqi enter through a side gate, then had her confined to a deserted West Courtyard's Jing Hall for the night, intending to humble her. However, Hua Buqi was not one to be easily subdued. Later that night, she skillfully removed some roof tiles and climbed out of the room, only to find the high roof and lack of nearby trees made descent difficult.

Just as she contemplated jumping, Chen Yu happened to pass by and caught her as she descended. Hua Buqi seized the moment to apologize for her past disrespect and demanded the alms bowl. Chen Yu, in turn, promised to return it if she dutifully cared for his father. Feigning indifference, he initially dismissed her request for food, reminding her of their past animosity.

Yet, despite his words, Chen Yu secretly ordered snacks from the kitchen and subtly guided a ravenous Hua Buqi to where they were laid out. Hua Buqi, noticing the convenient spread, wondered who could have orchestrated such an act of kindness, dismissing the idea that it could be the "dog-ass Heir Apparent." The next morning, the maids and a mammy sent by Royal Concubine Gan arrived to take Hua Buqi to see the Prince.

However, Hua Buqi defiantly locked them inside the room, playfully suggesting they escape through the roof as she had. She then went directly to see the Seventh Prince. The Prince was overjoyed to see her. Hua Buqi charmingly expressed her concern for his health, offering to stew soup for him.

She then brought up the upcoming Lantern Festival, and the delighted Seventh Prince promised to take her to enjoy the lantern displays, mentioning the fierce competition between Mingyue Villa and Mo Manor. Chen Yu soon arrived, reminding his father to rest and reassuring him that he would handle all matters concerning Hua Buqi.
