Yan Ruofu asked Yan Lingyu why she let Cao Yanbing and the other two participate in the trial even though she knew she wasn't the guide. The trial is extremely dangerous, and if any of them died inside, wouldn't they just be sacrificing their lives for nothing?

Yan Lingyu told Yan Ruofu not to be soft on them because she felt that Cao Yanbing would do things that would harm Lingfeng Street and the Tafeng tribe, and that he was actually just like the Fire King. Even if there wasn't a guide, participating in the trial was a tempering they needed to go through anyway. Yan Ruofu recalled the help Xia Ling and Cao Yanbing gave her when she fought the Fire King, and she felt conflicted.

Cao Yanbing came to Yan Ruofu to apologize, but Yan Ruofu told him to give up hope, saying that even if he won the trial, she couldn't guide him. Cao Yanbing told Xia Ling that his attempt to apologize not only failed to improve his relationship with Yan Ruofu but made it worse. Xia Ling felt that Yan Ruofu wasn't that kind of person and probably had a hidden reason.

She decided to have a good talk with her after competing with her. Xia Ling and Yan Ruofu competed, and in the end, Xia Ling won. She told Yan Ruofu that she did treat her differently before because she was the guide, but after yesterday, she regarded her as a true opponent. The reason she won was because she saw Yan Ruofu practicing hard last night, so she also practiced diligently for a whole night.

Yan Ruofu said that Xia Ling didn't need to say nice things to comfort her; she couldn't possibly understand the suffering of being unacknowledged from a young age because she lacked power. Xia Ling told her about her own situation, explaining that because she was very weak, her Guardian Spirit wasn't strong either, and Cao Yanbing even felt she was a burden and didn't want to bring her along.

But now she had become their companion; everyone has strengths and weaknesses. To become strong, one must first accept their weaknesses. She could help Yan Ruofu figure out how to summon her Guardian Spirit. Finally, Xia Ling's Guardian Spirit, Li Xuanyuan, said there was a special way to summon a Guardian Spirit: when the master's life is in danger, the Guardian Spirit within them will be activated to protect the master. After hearing this, Yan Ruofu jumped off the cliff.

Sure enough, her Guardian Spirit, Zhuoying, appeared. Both she and Xia Ling were very happy, but Li Xuanyuan told them that Zhuoying was a rare divine beast that could help people have good dreams, but it had no fighting power.

Yan Ruofu felt a bit disappointed after learning this, but Xia Ling warmly comforted her, saying that other people's Guardian Spirits only fight and kill, while Yan Ruofu's Guardian Spirit could make people's beautiful dreams come true, which was incredibly powerful. Yan Ruofu asked her what her true wish was. Xia Ling told her that she wanted to see her father again and also told her that Cao Yanbing entered the ancient building to save his mother, Tang Xiaoxiao.

After learning this, Yan Ruofu felt that she had misunderstood them. Yan Ruofu went to see her nephew, Yan Fengzha. He was actually the new generation's guide, and his aunt had kept him hidden in a house surrounded by God-Locking Stones. His aunt had previously said she would let him out when he turned fifteen, but she never did. Yan Lingyu heard that Fengzha had once shouted towards a girl on the mountain.

Fearing exposure, she immediately made Fengzha change his residence. She told Fengzha that she had high hopes for him; they had always expected him to be able to fully control his Guardian Spirit, Feilian, and revitalize Lingfeng Street. She told him to stay put so that others wouldn't find him. The trial was about to start, and Yan Ruofu asked Yan Lingyu if she could cancel the trial.

She wanted to tell Cao Yanbing and the others the truth: that there was no guide now. They might not necessarily trouble Lingfeng Street and the Tafeng tribe. Cao Yanbing and the others were entering the Luhuagou building for their closest loved ones, not for personal gain. And the mother Cao Yanbing was looking for in the Luhuagou building was Tang Xiaoxiao.

Ten years ago, when Lingfeng Street was invaded by evil presences, it was also Tang Xiaoxiao who helped save her. She didn't understand why her mother had to make things difficult for Tang Xiaoxiao's son. Yan Lingyu said that back then, precisely because Tang Xiaoxiao saved Lingfeng Street, her brother Yan Tianyue allowed his daughter Qiaoqiao to lead them into the Luhuagou building, but Qiaoqiao had been missing ever since. Tang Xiaoxiao's favor to them ended with Qiaoqiao's disappearance. Yan Ruofu felt that her mother's guess that Cao Yanbing would attack Lingfeng Street if he knew the truth was merely conjecture and was punished by her mother to kneel all night.
