Love in Pavilion Episode 20 Recap
> Love in Pavilion Recap
Wangquan Zui and Yang Yitan were strolling near Ruyi Tower amid a lively crowd, with cheers and performances all around. Wangquan Zui mustered her courage to confess her feelings to Yang Yitan and sincerely shared her heart. Moved to tears, Yang Yitan kissed her in the next moment, as brilliant fireworks lit up the sky at just the right moment.
These fireworks weren’t set off by Qingmu Yuan, but were part of the finale that Dongfang Huaizhu helped Wangquan Hongye prepare. At the Bamboo Pavilion by River Huai, they also saw the fireworks in the city, showing that everything went smoothly. At the pavilion, Huaizhu and Wangquan watched the moon and stars. She spoke of her mother, Jiang Juanxue, who had left her a riddle to solve. Wangquan also had business to attend to.
Neither of them imagined they would soon meet again in the Demon-Taming Kingdom. Qingmu Yuan and Zhang Zheng had been classmates for many years. When the other classmates bullied her, Zhang Zheng had saved her countless times, so Qingmu Yuan developed feelings for him. But after Zhang Zheng became head of the Zhang family, his personality changed drastically. Qingmu Yuan, as the mistress of Ruyi Tower, invited him multiple times, but he never came.
Now that news came from Ruyi Tower that Zhang Zheng had once again gone undercover into the Demon-Taming Kingdom, Qingmu Yuan wanted to find out why he kept going there and decided to go with Wangquan Hongye. It was rare for Qingmu Yuan to go on missions herself. Though Wangquan Zui found it surprising, she didn’t question it deeply. Before heading to the Demon-Taming Kingdom, Wangquan Hongye had one more major matter to settle—Yang Yitan and Wangquan Zui’s wedding.
Yang Yitan promised not to skimp on any of the proper rituals and gifts. Wangquan Hongye also had one requirement: Yang Huan Zhou and Yang Ying must come in person to propose marriage. The Yang family marrying into the Wangquan family was a great honor. Yang Huan Zhou eagerly agreed and promised to pass the head of the family position to Yang Yitan after the marriage.
Yang Ying, a gambler who owed a lot of debt, had all his debts cleared by Wangquan Hongye. Not only that, Wangquan Hongye bought two jade mines in Nan Chui and sent Yang Ying there with his wife and children to prevent further trouble. Wangquan Hongye had done a lot for Wangquan Zui, yet still felt it wasn’t enough. Especially now that his sister was about to get married, he felt a complex mix of emotions.
With no progress in his cultivation, Jin Renfeng decided to side with Jiu Huo and deliver a message to the king of the Demon-Taming Kingdom on his behalf, hoping to obtain the Sunset Mist Flower before Dongfang Huaizhu. Dongfang Huaizhu and Dongfang Qinlan arrived in the Demon-Taming Kingdom. Before they could even go to Zui Meng Tower to find the Sunset Mist Flower, they were thrown into prison for lacking identification plaques and not bringing a demon with them.
Fortunately, informants from Ruyi Tower recognized them as likely being from Divine Fire Villa and quickly sent word. Wangquan Hongye and Li Quzhuo disguised themselves as two demons and rescued them from prison. Wangquan Hongye was very worried about Huaizhu. As he spoke, he held her hand. Dongfang Qinlan quickly stepped in between them, separating them. Huaizhu recognized them because Li Quzhuo had written the word “sister-in-law” on his palm.
Qinlan grew curious and asked what it said, and Li Quzhuo hurriedly wiped it off before she could see. Though the purpose of Huaizhu and Qinlan’s trip to the Demon-Taming Kingdom was still unknown, Wangquan Hongye suggested they work together. Qinlan quickly declined. Hongye didn’t insist and instead handed them two identification plaques. Qinlan hastily pulled her sister away, afraid that in the next moment, her sister might be snatched away by Wangquan Hongye. After all, the way he looked at Dongfang Huaizhu—his eyes were practically glued to her.
